Having a full vegan breakfast in London is now much easier than it was a few years ago, and I’ve got quite a handful of amazing vegan bakeries to share with you today.

We’re going to be focusing on decadent, delicious, creamy vegan doughnut places you may not have come across before.

And, yes, a few of these are either completely gluten-free bakeries or offer amazing gluten-free pastries as well.

15 Best Vegan Doughnuts in London And Where To Get Them

best vegan doughnuts in london - vegan bakeries london - best vegan donuts london - vegan sourdough doughnuts - vegan donut shop london gluten free donuts london - plant-based doughnuts - vegan krispy kreme donuts - best doughnuts in london - best donuts in London

For this guide, I wanted to share brick-and-mortar places where you can buy excellent vegan doughnuts and haven’t really focused on online-based bakeries.

The reason is quite simple; when you’re having a romantic date and find yourself in front of Krispy Kreme, it pays to know that there are vegan doughnuts available there.

Sadly, if you’re looking for something like vegan sourdough doughnuts, you’ll often get them with gluten.

But there are one or two spots in this list that make raw, gluten free donuts so there’s really a bit for everyone here.

Best Vegan Doughnuts in London: Central London

These bakeries offer some of the best vegan doughnuts in Central London, in addition to some gluten free cakes, vegan brownies, cupcakes, cakes, and pastries. Definite must-tries!

Best Vegan Doughnuts in London: Doughnut Time

Doughnut Time has been one of my favorite spots for doughnuts ever since I visited London for the first time back in 2014.

Almost 10 years later, I enjoy them just as much!

My favorite Doughnut Time is probably the one on Shaftesbury Avenue, since it’s so close to both Soho and Chinatown where I love to hang out.

There is so much choice at Doughnut Time in terms of vegan doughnuts that it’s almost unbelievable.

Like the non vegan donuts, the Doughnut Time vegan doughnuts bear all sorts of fun names, but what’s more unlikely is how decadent they look.

They’re ultra fluffy, and huge, with super colorful designs on top. Definitely some of the best vegan doughnuts in London for whoever wants to find those ultra instagrammable desserts.

Best Vegan Doughnuts in London: Borough 22

You would definitely not think that you’re getting the best vegan doughnuts in London when you usually think of a donut recipe that’s completely vegan, gluten-free, without soya, and without nuts.

But Borough 22 has done it.

Although they don’t have a brick-and-mortar store, Borough 22’s vegan doughnuts are sold in Selfridges, and they’re also available for delivery in the UK.

One of the completely vegan bakeries in London, Borough 22 has a huge, decadent collection of dreamy baked goods.

The vegan donut range is huge and juicy; a look at their Instagram account will get you salivated in no time.

Wanted to know if Crosstown or Krispy Kreme have vegan doughnuts?

You don’t need to.

Once you know about the Borough 22 vegan donuts, including their cereal crumb, red velvet, pistachio raspberry, and peanut butter chocolate, you won’t want to go back – really.

Crosstown Doughnuts is your best option if you’re trying to find vegan sourdough doughnuts in London.

I have been a regular at Crosstown for years, and as a non-vegan person, I’ve eaten their vegan doughnuts time and time again.

I’d say they’re one of the most popular and best places to find vegan donuts in London, especially given how many locations they have.

My favorites are Crosstown Doughnuts in Brick Lane, located not too far from one of the best spots for hot chocolate in London, Dark Sugars (which have vegan hot chocolate too!), and some of the coolest markets in Shoreditch.

However, if you’re near Central, Crosstown has a shop in Soho that is utterly cute and located amongst some of the most colorful streets in London.

The top-notch vegan Crosstown Doughnuts place is near Marylebone.

There, you’ll find delicious almond butter, cinnamon, and my favorite, completely vegan peanut butter, and blackcurrant compote doughnut.

If you’re wondering whether there are vegan options at Krispy Kreme, yes indeed.

Over the past few years, the Krispy Kreme vegan donut range has developed further than ever before, and you can now find lots of their vegan doughnuts in London.

My favorite Krispy Kreme donut shop is the one in Holborn, near Oodles Chinese that I reviewed some time ago with their fantastic noodle boxes.

Yet, the first one I ever visited was Krispy Kreme in Victoria Station, and I’ve stayed pretty faithful to it.

Among all the vegan doughnuts at Krispy Kreme, you’ll find apple custard crumble, fudge brownie, caramel ice ring donuts, and of course, their original glazed donuts.

All plant-based, delicious, and far from the dry vegan donut you might have had in mind a few years ago.

Best Vegan Doughnuts in London: Happy Donuts

I talked about some places where you can get the best breakfast in Notting Hill, but it’s true I could have mentioned Happy Donuts in my guide.

Those in search of the best vegan doughnuts in London would do well to pay a visit to Notting Hill’s colorful houses and bustling Portobello Market before heading over to Happy Donuts.

More of a takeaway bakery and coffee shop, Happy Donuts is located right in the heart of Portobello Road, so you can barely spot it on market days.

A few vegan doughnuts are available on the menu, and the place is really, really cute. Vegan Oreo donuts, plain, or Nutella…

If you’d like to get the best breakfast in Notting Hill on the go, and just savor amazing vegan donuts while walking around, Happy Donuts is your best bet.

Whether you’re looking for vegan donuts, cupcakes, or vegan cookies, Cookies and Scream has it all.

The particularity of their vegan doughnuts is the fact they’re oven-baked, making the texture a little bit more cake-like instead of the very chewy, usual donut texture. Delish.

In addition, if you’re looking for gluten free cakes, the North London bakery has them on offer as well, and the inside of this vegan bakery is so cute you’ll want to eat in instead of take away.

Dum Dum Donutterie, or Dum Dum Donuts does not have many locations around London yet, but you can get their vegan doughnuts in London around Bluewater, Bromley, and Euston.

There are a few options for vegan donuts there, including the oh-so-instagrammable Vegan Galaxy croissant doughnut that will make you wonder how you haven’t come across Dum Dum Donuts before.

The Vegan Galaxy doughnut is a mix between donut and croissant that tastes like lemon creme and blackberry, and the swirly design on top just finishes it perfectly. However, if you’re looking for the perfect vegan Nutella donut, that’s also the spot.

The Choc Berry donut, made with raspberry creme and dark chocolate is also perfect if you love mixing fruits and chocolate. All in all, a really, really delicious place for all those looking for the best plant-based doughnuts in London.
