Take a walk with me around the secrets of London, Rome, Paris and beyond, documented as I roam the world, one hidden gem at a time.
Welcome to The Working Line, a friendly travel blog for curious minds, slow explorers, and lovers of secret corners.
Whether you’re planning your next trip or just daydreaming from your desk, you’re in the right place.
About Me
Hi, I’m Sam 🙂
I started blogging in 2015, and after years of writing in every spare moment, I made The Working Line my full-time focus in 2023.
Before that, I worked as a fashion and beauty makeup artist. I trained in Paris, freelanced with a handful of major brands, and was agency-represented until 2021.
A few years later, London became home. I arrived at 24, started over, and found my footing as a freelance writer during the pandemic.
Working for myself was always the plan. It meant freedom: to write what I wanted, when I wanted, and build a creative life on my own terms.
Since then, I’ve also lived in Rome, Barcelona, and Istanbul, and I’m currently spending time back in my hometown before heading to the next city.
What This Blog Is About
The Working Line now reaches over 70,000 monthly readers around the world. It’s a place to find complete travel guides, quirky itineraries, and personal notes from my life lived across borders.
I write about the cities I love — especially London, Rome, Paris, Istanbul, and Barcelona — always focusing on truly local gems, cultural spaces, independent shops, and places that deserve a closer look.
If you’re into the secret side of travel, local life, and places that don’t make it into the usual top ten lists, this blog’s for you.
Thanks for being here. I hope you find something that makes you want to keep coming back.
