The Best Shopping Centers in London and Areas for Fashion

best shopping centers in london travel guide - best malls in london bucket list fashion, clothes, makeup, homeware, bookshops

I’ve written about plenty of cool places to go shopping in London, whether you’re looking for the best budget shops or British makeup brands.

But today, I really wanted to focus on shopping centers as well as a few of London’s most famous department stores.

From Westfield White City to Battersea Power Station, you have here lots of amazing shopping spots for cheap clothes, luxury scented candles, shoes, bags…

And even some of the best outlets in London!

Best Shopping Centers in London for Clothes: Battersea Power Station

Battersea Power Station hasn’t been opened for long, and yet, it’s one of the best shopping centers in London for clothes.

Also for homeware, from scented candles to home decor, and it’s really got a very different vibe to our usual malls.

For instance, compared to Westfield White City, Battersea Power Station is a completely open shopping center.

It’s made of several parts which include a Zara Home, artisanal shops, and some really trendy clothing shops too.

If you’re looking for places to go cheap shopping in London, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend Battersea Power Station.

However, with its location in Nine Elms, close to Vauxhall, it offers some of the best views in London.

And if you’re ever looking for cool things to do in London during Christmas, Battersea Power Station gets a makeover with a huge Christmas tree and activities.

I used to be an East London girl, but that was before I discovered all the cool hidden gems in North London…

One of which is The Mall in Wood Green.

Wood Green is probably one of my favorite areas in London; not posh, but rather, super trendy and lively.

You’ll find one of the biggest TK Maxx in Wood Green, as well as Primark, Superdrug, Boots, H&M, and plenty of other brands.

The whole High Road in Wood Green is actually filled with shops.

And if you’re looking for the best cheap clothing shops in London, that’s where you have a Matalan Clearance.

Clothes there are really affordable.

Close by, you also have the Wood Green Library, which is simply one of the best free libraries to study in London, if you ever need a huge and quiet space to focus.

And don’t forget to pop by Addax, an incredible Turkish clothing brand that I love.

Again, super affordable, with really trendy shapes and patterns!

One of my favorite shopping centers in London for makeup and body care, Westfield White City is utterly posh.

Best Shopping Centers in London for Clothes: Westfield Stratford

If you’re looking for cheap shopping malls in London, Westfield Stratford City is generally more affordable than the one in White City.

The vibe is very different; between West London and East London, there’s a clear difference in people’s income.

That’s why you’ll find one of the best TK Maxx in London at Westfield Stratford.

This TK Maxx is perfect to shop anything from cheap clothes to DW Home candles and even W7 nail polish.

That’s also where you’ll find some of the best halal pizza in London, at Pizza Pilgrims, and lots of coffee shops and high street brands.

And for those who love stationery, there’s Typo at Westfield Stratford, which is nothing but one of the coolest spots for stationery in London.

One of the most secret places in London, Belgrave Square, is situated close to Harrods, too.

Make sure to pay a visit to this quiet area!

In any case, if you’re looking for shopping centers in London for luxury makeup brands, clothes, bags, or even food, Harrods is the place to be.

There’s also one of the coolest pink cafes in London just across Harrods, Elan Cafe Hans Crescent, perfect to chill after a shopping sesh!

Best Shopping Centers in London for Clothes: Canary Wharf

There are plenty of cool things to do in Canary Wharf, and one of my favorites is paying a visit to the shopping center.

Mind you, it’s not the biggest mall in London, and it’s not the most luxurious, but it’s 50/50 in terms of lifestyle and clothing brands sold there.

I mostly like visiting the Canary Wharf Shopping Centre because of the cool street food shops you have there.

Aesop, Coach, Bobbi Brown, Dune, and even Clintons are some of the brands you’ll find there.

If you’re not aware, Clintons is one of the best places to get cheap Yankee Candles in London, and they also sell plenty of cool stationery.

There are also plenty of cool halal restaurants in Canary Wharf to pay a visit if you want to see views of London with the river and the skyscrapers.

Plus, one of the most secret gardens in London, the Crossrail Place Roof Garden is located there and completely free to access – perfect for a romantic date!

I’ve always felt like Harvey Nichols is more targeted at men, though, and you can really find those high-end, luxury clothing brands you might be looking for.

So if you’re looking for a really famous luxury mall in London, aside from Harrods, you have Harvey Nichols.

It’s the flagship of the brand, and elbows some really instagrammable cafes like Elan Cafe and Ore Cafe Brompton.

Harvey Nichols is also located really close to Harrods, and some of the best restaurants in Knightsbridge.

I’m talking Stone Island and Balenciaga, with some of the best streetwear clothes in London you can ever find.

Best Shopping Centers in London for Clothes: Angel Central

Another one of the best shopping centers in London for clothes – and one of the most underrated! – is Angel Central.

It’s located in North London, close to Angel station and it’s that kind of open shopping center that you really feel good browsing.

Not really famous, more like a local mall, but definitely one of the places to visit if you’re ever looking for places to see Christmas lights.

You’ll find trendy shops like Typo, Uniqlo, Rituals or L’Occitane there – lots of accessories and body care in addition to clothes.

It’s interesting to note that there’s one of the most colorful places in the city, and one of the oldest, too, just a couple of minutes away: Camden Passage.

There, you have some cute coffee shops, including a great study cafe: Redemption Roasters, with its instagrammable basement decorated with Greek-inspired statues.

Islington High Street is generally an amazing place to go shopping in London, department store or not.

Some of the coolest charity shops in the city are located there, like my favorite, Oxfam, perfect for books and music.

If you’re the kind of person who loves buying second hand books and discounted designer clothes, pop by the few charity shops you’ll find near Angel Central.

Read here my review of Redemption Roasters, Islington, to discover its secret basement, its atmosphere, and my thoughts about the coffee and cake.

On the other hand, that’s where you’ll find some of the best luxury shoe brands, clothing, jewelry…

Not a shopping center per se, but definitely one of the best hidden gems in London when it comes to luxury shopping.

Anyone looking for places to visit during Christmas in London should not overlook this one.

Cheap Shopping Centers in London for Clothes: Icon Outlet at the O2

Anyone looking for cool shopping outlets in London should not only pop by the London Designer Outlet.

You also have the Icon Outlet at the O2 in Greenwich, in South London, an amazing spot to do some cheap shopping in London.

It’s one of the most famous malls for anything discounted; from Tommy Hilfiger to The Body Shop.

I used to pay many a visit to the Icon Outlet before the Yankee Candle outlet closed, and that was precisely the shop I loved the most.

However, if you’re looking for secret spots to see the view of the Thames in London, Greenwich definitely is the spot.

One of the cheapest shopping malls in London, the Icon Outlet at the O2 really makes for a whole shopping experience, so definitely plan at least a half day there.

You’ll also find some of the most beautiful luxury clothes, with lots of high end makeup brands and perfume brands like Initio and Penhaligon’s.

If you’re ever looking for the best perfume shops in London, do not miss out on Penhaligon’s – really.

Biggest Shopping Centers in London: Brent Cross Shopping Centre

Like with the Canary Wharf Shopping Centre, good luck trying to find your way out of the Brent Cross Shopping Centre.

These are precisely two malls I always end up getting lost in, but it’s totally worth it.

Brent Cross is another one of the very best shopping centers in London for clothes, accessories, shoes, and cool street food spots.

Kurt Geiger, Lush, Allsaints, and even Clarks (which is one of the cheapest shoe shops in London!) – all are there and more.

Actually, there are 120 shops and 30 restaurants and cafes at the Brent Cross Shopping Centre, so when you go, plan to spend some time there.

And for those who love finding body mists and cool lingerie shops in London, you have Victoria’s Secret there!

Best Shopping Centers in London: One New Change

One New Change is one of my favorite shopping centers in London, and filled with beautiful clothing and lifestyle shops.

One of my favorite shops there is Oliver Bonas, which you can find in quite a few locations in town, starting with Embankment and Finchley Road.

It’s that type of truly British shop at core where you can get some of the trendiest everyday clothes for females, as well as a few scented candles.

Books, journals, accessories – Oliver Bonas really is one of the best shops in London in my opinion, all things considered.

One New Change is located really close to St Paul’s Cathedral and the Strand, as well as the Tate Modern and the Millenium Bridge.

It is not only a famous shopping mall in London because of its stores – nope.

At the top of One New Change, you have a completely free rooftop, with a bar, should you wish to eat and drink something.

Carnaby Street is not a shopping center per se, but having the Liberty department store at the beginning of the street made me want to include it.

Other than that, Carnaby Street definitely is one of the best places to go shopping in Central London.

There, you have Monki, Dr Martens, Benefit, Too Faced, and used to house one of my favorite British shoe brands, Irregular Choice (sadly, it’s been shut down).

It’s also one of the most colorful places in London, if you just look up from the shop windows to see the multicolor houses.

As for Liberty, it’s a very famous department store in which you can get lots of luxury clothes, accessories and beauty products.

You will also find some famous perfume brands at Liberty, as well as the famous Liberty fabric.

And honestly, beyond just being one of the most complete shops, it’s also a place that showcases some of the most beautiful architecture in London.
