London’s Pretty Streets: 9 Camden Town Spots to See Colorful Houses

London is filled with gorgeous neighborhoods and mews streets that all you want to do is tread as soon as spring and summer come around – or at least, that’s my case.

You know, the Notting Hill colorful houses might have their amazing charm, but there are lots of other aesthetic places in London to visit, with some of my favorites being secret gardens and hidden churches. London’s charm goes beyond the iconic landmarks, offering countless hidden gems that feel like stepping into a storybook. Whether you’re strolling through the pretty streets in Covent Garden or exploring tucked-away courtyards illuminated by history, there’s always something enchanting to discover. Pair that with cozy cafes and vibrant markets, and the city’s magic truly comes alive in unexpected corners.

And if you’re on the lookout for secret photography spots in London off the beaten path, or just cool places to visit in London where you won’t meet every instagrammer around, then I have something special for you today…

The most colorful streets in Camden Town and Kentish Town.

When I lived in Tottenham, the closest instagrammable places I had were the colorful streets in Camden Town and Kentish Town.

A few weeks ago, I went around town on a travel spree.

When you live in London, it seems like you never have the time to really enjoy the city as tourists do.

Sure, there are plenty of non touristy things to do alone in London when you live here, but is it really a crime to enjoy Instagram spots in London like the next-door tourist would?

I think not, friend.

A lot of the colorful streets I’ll be mentioning here today are really, super, uber underrated.

Although I do have a knack for the stunning Lancaster Road, I have a preference for the bustling area that Camden Town is.

And near all the best charity shops in Camden Town, you have some real hidden gems of colorful streets and rows of multicolor houses. So what say you?

To make this guide to the most beautiful streets in Camden easier (there are lots, lots, lots of pictures in this post!), I felt like it would be nice to split it into two parts:

• Streets in Camden Town
• Streets in Kentish Town

As I said higher up, there are lots of amazingly cute, aesthetic places in London.

And in the Camden Town part, you’ll probably recognize some colorful streets you’ve come across before.

Like Camden High Street, or the colorful umbrellas street in Stables Market.

However, in the Kentish Town part, you’ll find some of the most secret photography spots in London; streets that very few know about, and that you’ve certainly not come across before.

Instagrammable Places in London: Colorful Streets in Camden

So far, during all the time I’ve spent searching for the most instagrammable places in London, I’ve found four colorful streets in Camden Town.

The most famous would be Bonny Street, with its row of rainbow houses, and you’ve got some even more famous colorful streets that I’ll tell you about just now.

Colorful Streets in Camden Town: Bonny Street

Located just a few minutes away from the Camden Road station, Bonny Street is probably one of the most instagrammable, colorful streets in Camden Town.

Despite being really colorful and cute, it is still quite underrated.

Plus, since it requires walking from Camden Town, Bonny Street does not attract as many people to its colorful houses.

It is one of the most aesthetic places in London, especially considering that in front of the row of colorful houses, you’ve got another house with a cute pink door.

Higher up the road, you can see the name ‘Bonny Street’ almost covered in leafage, which is not only gorgeous but also one of the best places to spot fall foliage in autumn.

Most Colorful Streets in Camden London: Hartland Road

One of the only reasons why Hartland Road isn’t visited as much as the other colorful streets in Camden Town is that it’s quite far from Camden Town station.

Rather, it’s located near Chalk Farm, and the row of multicolor houses makes for one of the best Instagram spots in London.

On Hartland Road, you can see a different type of architecture.

Instead of the entire row of houses being colored, the designers have left the bricks apparent on some of the houses in the street, giving Hartland Road another kind of charming look.

Most Colorful Streets in Camden London: Camden High Street

Camden High Street might not be a properly instagrammable place such as the Umbrella Street we’ll talk about below, but its charm is still undeniable.

The colorful flags in lieu of pedestrian crossings amongst the many Camden Town shops lining up the street attract many an influencer, and even I, as a local, have more than once posed for a picture there.

By the way, I would definitely recommend popping by a few of the shops in Camden Town, such as Criminal Damage, one of the lesser known streetwear shops London is so famous for.

You’ll also find other kinds of budget shops to buy anything from coffee with Pret a Manger closer to the station, to stationery or affordable makeup at Poundland and TK Maxx closer to Morningston Crescent.

Anyhoo.

The shops on Camden High Street, closer to the Stables Market, make for super instagrammable spots with the perspective, since lots of them have huge sculptures on the front.

Most Colorful Streets in Camden London: Colorful Umbrellas in Camden Market

It’s hard to miss the colorful umbrellas street in Stables Market; a part of Camden Market.

The colorful umbrellas have been around for quite some time now.

And while they’re not one of the secret Instagram spots in London, they’re really nice to snap a picture of and give a certain vibe to Stables Market.

Instagram Spots in London: Kentish Town Colorful Streets

Now on to the part I was most excited to write about: all the colorful streets in Kentish Town!

Pastel houses, and multicolor rows of stunning houses – they are definitely some of the best Instagram spots in London. Leverton Street, Falkland Road and more…

They’re still some really secret photography spots near Camden Town that will please any lover of colorful streets in London!

Most Colorful Streets in Camden London: Leverton Street

The two or three beautiful streets next are located just a few minutes away on foot from Kentish Town station, and you wouldn’t expect such gorgeousness to be waiting just around the corner.

Let me start by saying that I find Kentish Town Road to be quite lively at all times of the day.

There are plenty of small coffee shops, charity shops, and amazing restaurants there so it can be a perfect spot to hang out with family.

In terms of food nearby, you have for instance Pho Ta, which offers the best, best pho in London.

Strangely, I have found that almost no one visits the colorful streets in Kentish Town, and they’ve remained some really secret photography spots in London.

The first one of these is Leverton Street, which hosts two full rows of colorful houses in a mews street format.

The most stunning – in my opinion – is the red house at the end of the road, which gives way to Falkland Road when you turn left.

Most Colorful Streets in Notting Hill: Leverton Place

At a corner of Leverton Street, you’ve also got Leverton Place (pictured with its orange and green houses), a cute, Instrammable street gently tucked away.

What makes the charm of Leverton Place is that in addition to being one of the cutest colorful streets in Kentish Town, it’s also cobbled and boasts that instagrammable mews in London type of vibe.

Most Colorful Streets in London: Falkland Road

Falkland Road definitely is one of the best-kept hidden gems and best Instagram spots in London.

I don’t understand just how quiet this street is, especially given how colorful it is.

Whoever wants to find the most aesthetic places in London needs to visit Falkland Road, which you can easily miss when you come from Kentish Town Road.

I first found out about Falkland Road’s colorful houses when I was on the bus from my old house in North Finchley to go to Camden Town.

I just spotted a few colorful houses, and when I then walked from Leverton Street to Falkland Road, I could not believe I had come across one of the most secret instagrammable places in London.

This colorful street is very bright, and definitely gives Notting Hill’s colorful houses a run for their money.

Bright pinks, corals, green, and blues – this is one of the Instagram spots in London that you really, really shouldn’t miss.

Instagram Spots in London: Falkland Place

Falkland Place is one of the most secret photography spots in London.

Although it is located right off Falkland Road, I have only ever seen families and locals passing by and lingering in the nearby local park.

There, you’ll see a stunning bright orange facade, as well as a small row of colorful houses.

If like me, you love finding instagrammable places in London off the beaten path, then you can definitely imagine how gassed I was when I first came across Falkland Place.

It’s a very residential spot just minutes away from Kentish Town Road, so you know you can take pictures without being bothered here.

Most Colorful Streets in Camden London: Kelly Street

Kelly Street probably is one of the best-known Instagram spots in London, and you might have come across its name if you love finding new cute places to visit in London.

These are not just a few colorful houses; the entire street is made of two colorful rows of houses.

Kelly Street is located a bit further off Camden Town station, and it will take you a good 20 minutes on foot from Camden Town to reach it.

That might be why it’s still a very local, residential place.

Nevertheless, I do think it is one of the most aesthetic places in London, and if you’re looking for the most colorful streets in Camden, that Kentish Town road is one of the spots you need to visit.
