I have been feeling like talking about the best halal restaurants in Soho London for quite some time.
So far, I’ve only written about halal food in Covent Garden and halal restaurants in Mayfair and Oxford Street, leaving behind this amazing Central London area that is Soho.
I spend a lot of time in study cafes in Soho, as it’s close to everything I love.
That means Foyles Cafe on Charing Cross Road, and TK Maxx where I happen to buy scented candles pretty often.
And if you’re like me, a lover of the lively vibe that reigns in areas like Soho, Chinatown, Covent Garden, and Piccadilly Circus, you might have been looking for halal food in Soho here and there.
So today’s the day to share with you all the best halal restaurants in Soho, where you can get anything from sushi to fine dining food and even halal street food right in the heart of Central London!
12 Best Halal Restaurants in Soho London

I will be mentioning almost exclusively halal restaurants in Soho in this guide, with two exceptions; a vegan restaurant, and a halal restaurant in Chinatown close to my beloved Chinatown Bakery.
The rest are either fully halal or offer plenty of halal options and vegetarian/vegan dishes which you can enjoy to complete the meal!
As per usual, a little disclaimer:
I have gathered all the best halal restaurants in Soho London in this guide, and as much as I can, I will tell you whether the restaurant is fully halal or if only a selection of meats is halal.
I would always recommend contacting the restaurant before booking or walking in, as restaurants can change suppliers without notice – especially when they’re not completely halal restaurants to start with.
If you’d like to find fully HMC certified halal restaurants in London, I’ve already written a full guide that you can check out for more delicious addresses.
And if you’d like to locate all the halal restaurants in Soho a little bit better, take a look at the map below:
Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Cha Cha Roll

Cha Cha Roll is that cute little shop on Frith Street where you can find amazing sushi rolls, Japanese souffle pancakes, and delicious mochi.
It might not be one of the biggest halal restaurants in Soho.
Yet, since all the chicken is halal and a lot of the sushi rolls and signature rolls either contain chicken, seafood or vegetables, you have a lot of different options to try.
Only the chicken is halal at Cha Cha Roll.
While there are also plenty of bento boxes and fresh rice bowls on the menu, I can guarantee that you’ll want to go back for their rolls because they are just incredibly good and filling.
Perfect if you’re on a budget and just roaming around Soho, working in nearby study cafes in Covent Garden and wanting to take a break, or having a laidback cheeky date with your other half while tasting some of the best Japanese pancakes in London.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Rosa’s Thai Cafe

I’ve mentioned Rosa’s Thai Cafe so many times on The Working Line that I’m starting to lose count; I think it’s one of the best halal Thai restaurants in London.
The prices may have increased over the past years, but whenever I want to have a delicious pad thai or glazed chicken wings, Rosa’s Thai Cafe is where I’ll go.
The Soho branch is located on Dean Street, very close to Bar Italia, one of my favorite Italian cafes in London where I usually go take a coffee to start digesting after lunch at Rosa’s Thai Cafe.
The decor is warm and simple.
You literally feel at home as soon as you pass the threshold, making Rosa’s Thai Cafe one of the best halal restaurants in Soho whether you’re dining solo, with friends, or with family.
On the menu, stir fried noodles, Pad Thai, crispy calamari and shrimp popcorn are some of the best dishes to try at Rosa’s Thai Cafe.
All the beef and chicken are halal, pork and alcohol are served.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Rasa Sayang

There are quite a lot of halal Malaysian restaurants in London, but if you’re looking for the most famous ones, then you have to pay a visit to Rasa Sayang.
Located just a few minutes away from Chinatown, Rasa Sayang offers plenty of delicious Singaporean and Malaysian dishes from the most traditional cooking styles in the world.
If you’re a Beef Rendang lover, you can literally not miss out on Rasa Sayang, especially since it is a fully halal restaurant near Chinatown where all the meats served are halal.
Nasi goreng, nasi lemak, and sambal are also available on the Rasa Sayang menu.
Also, if you’re feeling like going meatless, then there are plenty of vegan dishes on the menu as well. Alcohol is served.

Best Halal Food in Central London: Stax Diner

In addition to being one of the best halal restaurants in Soho, Stax Diner cooks up some of the best halal burgers in London all around.
That’s one of the only places around Carnaby Street and Soho where you can get stacks upon stacks of juicy halal steaks so perfectly seasoned that you will remember Stax Diner for years to come.
Located in Kingly Court just off Carnaby Street, Stax Diner is a perfect place to dine out in the open, especially when you’re looking for halal food near Oxford Street on warm, sunny days.
The American-themed halal burger joint offers the most decadent hamburgers you’ll ever see, with gooey cheese and stunningly fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and onions.
If you’re looking for the best halal restaurants in Soho, walk just a few minutes to Carnaby Street and you’ll find Stax Diner tucked away.
One of the must try dishes is their chicken and waffles, perfect for lunch or even to curate your own halal brunch.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Berenjak

Berenjak offers delicious Persian food that takes from traditional dishes from Iran and elevates them with local, seasonal British produce.
If you’ve never tried Persian food before and would like to give it a go, you’ll find that Berenjak and its warm interior is one of the best halal restaurants in Soho to do so.
Located on Romilly Street, right in the center of Soho, Berenjak offers its own take on classic kebabs, lamb fillet, poussin, and stunning vegetarian dishes with the likes of coal-cooked aubergines.
Since all the chicken and lamb are halal, you can really have fun – no pork at Berenjak (alcohol is served).
If you love Middle Eastern and Turkish food, Persian food is slightly similar, with its own twist and flavors that will make you fall in love with the cuisine.
At Berenjak, you’ll understand why I think it’s one of the best halal restaurants in Soho, and in the whole of London.
One of the main desserts is the famous Baklava ice cream sandwich from Darlish, a unique twist on the classic baklava which I love so much and happen to order at almost every Middle Eastern restaurant I visit.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Aqua Kyoto

A few weeks ago, I was invited to dine at Aqua Kyoto and wrote a complete review of my experience for you here.
If you’re looking for halal food on Oxford Street, just walk thirty seconds from the Oxford Circus Tube station and you’ll find the entrance of Aqua Kyoto on Argyll Street.
For whoever is looking for fancy halal restaurants in Soho, it doesn’t get any better than Aqua Kyoto.
In addition to being one of the only halal rooftop restaurants in London, it offers a completely halal menu except for the Wagyu beef (alcohol is served).
I went to Aqua Kyoto and was given to taste some of the finest sushi I had ever eaten in my entire life, with innovative chicken and seafood dishes all more thoughtfully curated than the previous one.
If you’re used to going to halal restaurants in Canary Wharf to see a beautiful view of London, think again and try Aqua Kyoto.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Burgeri

Another place for some of the best halal burgers in London, Burgeri is a franchise imported from Qatar which offers some delicious, more classic burgers than Stax Diner.
You’ve got delicious smashed burgers enhanced by fresh veggies and pickles at Burgeri, which you’ll find right behind Oxford Street and two minutes away from Carnaby Street.
Smoked turkey ham, Black Angus steaks, guacamole, fried green chilis…
There are about a dozen burgers available on the Burgeri menu which are all quite amazing for the price, averaging £7.50 to £9.25 for a burger depending on whether you choose chicken, Angus, or premium Wagyu steak for your burger.
A really unassuming and fun place, and definitely one of the best halal restaurants in Soho if you’re craving delicious, affordable burgers and cheese-loaded fries.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Ramo Ramen

Ramo Ramen is the perfect spot for whoever wants to find Japanese halal food in Central London.
The other Ramo Ramen branch in Kentish Town is probably the most famous, but with a Filipino-Japanese fusion menu, you’ve got one of the most interesting halal restaurants in Soho, on Brewer Street.
Halal ramen is not easy to find in London, although I’ve mentioned one or two spots in my guide to halal Japanese food in London.
Ramo Ramen has some amazing options on the menu that range from grilled scallops to octopus, and even Wagyu steak.
Ramo Ramen is part of the Maginhawa Group which owns a few other restaurants in town, including Bintang and Mamasons which sells purple ube ice cream that you can also find in nearby Chinatown. Completely halal, alcohol is served.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Good Friend Chicken

I’ve reviewed Good Friend Chicken a few weeks ago for you, with all I had ordered that day, and if you’re looking for quick, affordable halal food in Central London, Good Friend Chicken is the spot.
You can literally not miss the small shop on Little Newport Street, at the entrance of Chinatown when coming from Covent Garden and Charing Cross Road.
There are quite a few halal fried chicken shops there, with Wing Wing also being one of the most famous halal restaurants in Chinatown for Korean halal fried chicken.
But Good Friend Chicken makes their halal fried chicken Taiwanese-style, and you’ll often find a queue of people outside either waiting to order or waiting for their order.
One of my favorite dishes from the Chinatown shop is their Volcano Cheesy Chicken, which is basically a huge piece of chicken breast, crispy, with plenty of melty cheese inside.
A lot of different seasoning powders are available, from chili to garlic and plum, and they all give the fried chicken this distinctive taste that you won’t ever forget.
One of the best halal restaurants in Chinatown, just two steps away from Leicester Square, Soho, and Piccadilly Circus.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Pizza Pilgrims

I have already mentioned Pizza Pilgrims as one of the best spots to get cheap pizza in London, especially if you’re a Neapolitan pizza lover.
A few years ago, Pizza Pilgrims introduced halal pepperoni as an option to their spicy pepperoni and honey pizza, which is to this date one of my favorite pizza to get from the chain’s menu.
I usually go to their branch in Covent Garden, but it seems like it’s getting fuller and fuller by the week.
In any case, you cannot book either in the Covent Garden or the Soho restaurant, so if there’s a bit of wait, honestly, just wait as you’re about to eat in one of the best halal restaurants in Soho.
After living in Rome for a year and visiting Naples a few times, I know that I prefer Neapolitan pizza rather than pizza in Rome, as the dough is airier and more chewy.
Pizza Pilgrims makes it to perfection, and even if you just want to get a Margherita, it’s going to be the best halal food in Central London that you can come across.
Amazing solo, amazing with friends, and amazing with your other half – if you’re looking for a halal Italian restaurant near Oxford Street, that’s the one.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Chotto Matte

Chotto Matte on Frith Street is one of the best places to get halal sushi in London.
Since it’s located right in the heart of Soho, you’ve got everything at arm’s length, from Oxford Street to Chinatown, Piccadilly Circus, and Leicester Square.
That comes in handy whether you’re a local in search of the best halal restaurants in Soho, or visiting London for the first time.
With its Nikkei concept of Japanese-Peruvian fusion food, Chotto Matte is one of the most interesting halal restaurants in Central London.
You’ve got plenty on the menu, from brunch to all-day dining, and since the chicken, lamb, and beef are all halal, you’re going to be excited way before you actually sit down at Chotto Matte.
Seekers of halal steaks and grilled meats, the Wagyu beef is incredible, and you’ll have plenty of choices at Chotto Matte that range from Teriyaki Chicken to Japanese-style sea bass, halal sushi, of course, lychee ceviche, and amazonian BBQ meats.
One of the only halal restaurants in Soho to offer such an eclectic menu, Chotto Matte is a food spot to have on your list when you want to indulge in fancy halal dining.

Best Halal Restaurants in Soho: Mildreds

Something a little bit different with Mildreds, which is a completely vegan restaurant in Soho.
I mentioned Mildreds in my guide to the best brunch in Kings Cross, since Mildreds has a few branches all over town that offer the most delicious vegan food in London.
On the menu of the quaint little Soho restaurant, you’ll find an international and creative take on plant-based dishes.
That include Roman artichokes (one of the best things to eat in Roman restaurants!), chipotle cheez nachos, harissa patatas, and even generous plant chick’n kebabs.
Of course, if you’re looking for vegan burgers in Soho, then Mildreds has a few delicious options on the menu, with the pulled chick’n burger being one of the highlights of the menu.
So if you’re ever after halal restaurants in Soho but wouldn’t mind going meatless and enjoying absolutely fresh veggies, fruits, and cooked-up goodness, Mildreds is a great destination solo or with friends.
