A local’s review of Bim’s Edmonton in North London, a lesser-known fast food restaurant for some of the best street food and halal burgers in London!

I’ve paid quite a number of visits to Bim’s Edmonton, in North London.

If you’re hunting for completely halal street food spots and want something close to how McD’s burgers taste, that’s an it-spot to visit.

It’s laidback, it’s that real fast food that you need after work, when you don’t know where to eat and you’re around the amazing Edmonton Green shopping center.

When I wrote about the halal food in Edmonton, I mostly talked about Turkish restaurants like Hilal Restaurant, one of the completely HMC halal restaurants in London, and burger spots.

The Turkish community is huge in Edmonton and around Tottenham.

As such, it’s quite normal that most of the places you’ll find in the area are either Turkish restaurants – like the oh-so-famous Kervan Sofrasi or fast food places that people visit at the end of a long day of work.

You have to know that Bim’s is actually a French brand, and being half-French, I always love finding a taste of Troyes, my hometown, or Paris in London.

However, it does not taste like it was made in France; if you’re looking for gourmet halal burgers in London, Bim’s Edmonton really isn’t the place I’d recommend.

It’s more of that British slash American type of vibe when it comes to how the burgers are presented, and overall, I just really enjoy eating there from time to time…

Especially when you know that even the bacon used in some of the burgers is halal.

Bim’s Edmonton Review: Inside the restaurant

Upon entering the Bim’s restaurant in Edmonton, you understand straight away that it’s going to be one of those places for halal burgers in London where you just pick up your food and either take it away or eat at one of the many tables in the restaurant.

There’s no way to order from the tills; ordering the burgers, nuggets, and other snacks is done from the digital boards that you see straight away when you enter the restaurant.

The decor is clean; the colors of the restaurants are easy to spot; white, yellow, and black with the Bim’s name clearly scattered here and there.

Bim’s Edmonton Review: Bim’s Menu

The Bim’s menu, I’ve found, is quite large.

As I said at the beginning of the review if you’re a lover of this oh-so-famous chain that is McDonald’s, you’re going to love Bim’s.

These are some of the best halal burgers in London if you’re looking for something a bit similar to McD’s but need halal meat since Bim’s offers only halal burgers.

You’ve got lots of halal chicken burgers on the Bim’s menu, along with a Deep Sea burger that I would compare to the Filet-o-Fish from afar, and lots of halal beef burgers as well.

You’ll have understood pretty quickly that this is not one of the super fancy halal restaurants we can find in London – but it makes for a super cool moment out of the house.

Bim’s Edmonton Review: What I Ordered

bim's edmonton review - best halal burgers in london street food guide - must eat places in north london travel bucket list - cheap food london

For two people, we spent about £18 for a few burgers and snacks, along with drinks, which makes the Bim’s restaurant one of the best halal cheap eats in London. Here’s what we ordered on our last visit:

  • Spicy Chicken Supreme
  • Onion Rings
  • Nuggets
  • Bacon Double Cheeseburger
  • Spicy Chicken Wrap

Now that I’m writing this Bim’s review, I have realized that funnily, this time, we did not order fries as a side.

Nevertheless, they’re quite good at Bim’s, so if fries tickle your fancy, they’re quite cheap and good value in this Edmonton restaurant.

Halal Burgers in London: Bim’s Spicy Chicken Supreme

Let’s start with the Spicy Chicken Supreme burger that D got.

Now, that’s a delicious burger, especially if you’re looking for burgers with halal fried chicken in London. Quite thick and priced slightly over £4, we both enjoyed it a lot.

Although I love a good chicken burger, I often find that they’re lacking a bit of flavor.

By making it spicy, Bim’s Spicy Chicken Supreme burger was absolutely delicious.

The sauce, in particular, was really interesting, a good old burger sauce with crispy salad inside – one of the best halal burgers in London if you want to eat on the go and on a budget.

Halal Burgers in London: Bim’s Bacon Double Cheeseburger

Next up, my Bacon Double Cheeseburger.

You know how hard it is at times to find halal burgers in London that contain turkey or beef bacon.

Well, since I found it at Bim’s Edmonton, I figured I might as well try it. This burger has a really good consistency, and the meat didn’t feel dry.

In addition, the halal bacon added a nice touch to an overall really, really good burger.

If I remember well, this Bim’s burger was priced around £2 as it’s part of the Savers menu, and I especially liked the sauce and pickles inside.

By the way, I recently found out that Bim’s now offers a good, large selection of halal breakfast burgers, so if you love the type of burgers like Egg muffins, you’re going to love these, since you can have a steak inside or some halal bacon as well.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Bim’s Spicy Chicken Wrap

I wasn’t too hungry, but I still felt like trying bits and bobs here and there at Bim’s, so along with my Bacon Double Cheeseburger, I also got a Spicy Chicken Wrap.

Made with the same spicy chicken as D’s burger, this was a really good wrap, albeit felt a little bit empty.

I would have liked a bit more lettuce or some other ingredient to fill up what felt like a huge tortilla with just a few ingredients here and there.

However, the sauce was delicious, and the melted cheese in conjunction with the spicy halal fried chicken made it one of the best value wraps I’ve eaten in London.

Onion Rings

I feel it’s quite difficult to find really crispy onion rings, and the Bim’s onion rings were a slight bit of a let-down.

They felt a little bit wet, and I still ate them because I was hungry and love onions.

However, they could have been crispier, which would have made them more enjoyable.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Bim’s Nuggets

Now, I love my nuggets, and whether I go to McDonald’s or Bim’s, I’m surely going to get nuggets on the side.

This was not my first time ordering Bim’s nuggets on the side of some of the best halal burgers in London, and this time around, they were just as delicious and crispy as they were the other times I paid a visit to Bim’s.

When you order nuggets at Bim’s Edmonton, you can also choose two sauces to go with them.

I found there was not enough sauce for me to properly bathe my nuggets in it, so I asked one of the team members for more packs, which he kindly gave me a few more packs of.

If I had to compare the famous nuggets at McDonald’s and those at Bim’s, I’d probably choose the Bim’s nuggets because of their consistent quality and taste.

There you have it, my review of Bim’s Edmonton – with delicious, fluffy buns, nice cooking, and overall greatly-priced halal burgers in London, that’s one of the best halal cheap eats in the city.

Next time, I will probably get two of the Bacon Double Cheeseburgers again.

It is one of my favorite burgers at Bim’s now, since it’s such great value and absolutely stunning for the price!
