The Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London For Views and Fine Dining

best halal rooftop restaurants in london view - fancy halal fine dining london

A complete guide to the best halal rooftop restaurants in London with a view, and beautiful fine dining places with halal and vegetarian options!

London is filled with halal restaurants, and that’s one of the many reasons why I fell in love with the city years ago.

From Canary Wharf to Tower Bridge and even Oxford Street, you can find cheap eats and fine dining places with halal food at pretty much every corner.

But to be honest, although halal restaurants in Central London are plenty, there are not a lot of proper (as in entirely) halal rooftop restaurants in London.

Especially if you’re looking for halal restaurants in Mayfair, near Oxford Street, Oxford Circus, and Soho.

But the spots I’m about to share with you are some of the best rooftops in London with an at least partially halal menu – perfect for romantic dates, occasions, or just to treat yourself!

The Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London For Views and Fine Dining

For those looking for fancy halal rooftop restaurants in London, you might want to check the guides I have written about the best Michelin star halal restaurants and halal fine dining places.

I pay close attention to the halal status, whether all the meats are halal or not, or whether pork and alcohol are served at the restaurant.

As much as I can, I will report it in this guide, and I would definitely always recommend you get in touch with the restaurants to confirm the halal status of the meats served as suppliers can change without notice.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Florattica

Located above the Minories, near Aldgate station in East London, Florattica is a favorite when it comes to halal rooftops, especially because it is one of the most maximalist restaurants you’ll find in London.

From the menu to the really aesthetic decor, Florattica draws inspiration from East London’s textile history, and you will find that most dishes on the menu are either vegetarian, vegan, or suitable for a halal diet.

Nocellara olives, prawn and lobster sliders, courgette and potato gnocchi all give a very Italian twist to the menu, which makes for the perfect setting for a romantic date.

And if you’re visiting for the first time, do not forget to visit the surrounding East London neighborhoods, which include Aldgate, but also Whitechapel, Liverpool Street, and Spitalfields.

They’re filled with historical sites, from medieval ruins to secret churches which all bring something extra to a London routine.

Pork and alcohol are served.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Tarshish, Wood Green

Wood Green is but one of the best shopping areas in London, in my opinion – from a large Superdrug to a huge TK Maxx and other affordable clothing shops, you can easily spend a day there.

Especially when you know that there are many cute coffee shops in the area, too, starting with Chaiiwala, another branch of which you can notably find in Bethnal Green, East London.

Tarshish offers a mediterranean menu with a cozy rooftop terrace which is amazing to rest when you’ve spent all day discovering North London – from comforting chicken burgers to lamb shanks and adana kebab, the menu bears strong Turkish flavors.

Not only are the halal dishes clearly marked, but if you need vegetarian options, these are also indicated on the menu.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Alto by San Carlo

Alto by San Carlo is a restaurant at the top of Selfridges on Oxford Street.

If you’re looking for the best halal rooftop restaurants in London with a view, you are going to want to visit Alto by San Carlo.

Although this is not a fully halal restaurant, I chose to mention it because of the 22 seafood dishes available on its menu.

There are quite a few halal restaurants on Oxford Street, but none at the level of Alto by San Carlo.

I love Italian food and lived in Rome for a year before I moved back to London.

To be honest, the quality of Italian food is something I miss very much in my day-to-day life.

At Alto by San Carlo, you will dine outdoors on a beautiful terrace, and have a stunning view of London.

Of course, you will try some of the most delicious Italian food in town.

Since you’re looking for halal food, I would recommend getting some prawns, calamari, and everything from their traditional fritto misto.

Fresh fish and seafood tainted with Italian notes and savoir-faire…

I am also very much in love with grilled artichokes, one of the most traditional Roman dishes, which I mentioned in my guide to the best street food and cheap eats in Rome a while back.

If you are down to change your vision a little bit and get some fish instead of meat, Alto by San Carlo is one of the most romantic rooftop halal restaurants in London with a view.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Kilikya’s Gastro

Located on St Katherine’s Dock around Tower Hill and Tower Bridge, Kilikya’s Gastro is not a rooftop halal restaurant.

However, it is very fancy, super romantic, and offers a view of the harbor.

This is an absolutely delicious halal Turkish restaurant that also offers vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options for all people that would need it.

I love Kilikya’s Gastro for the fact that it’s all-inclusive, but also for the view of the water.

London Bridge is one of my favorite areas in London and interestingly enough, Kilikya’s Gastro is one of the only halal restaurants with a view in London located so close to the river .

There, you will get healthy and traditional Turkish food.

Since the menu is completely halal, you’ll be able to taste some of the finest Turkish dishes, like sheesh kebab, pide, and smoked seafood as well.

Now, if you’re ever looking for the best halal steak in London, Kilikya’s Gastro offers a few variations of lamb steak that are absolutely breathtaking.

One of the most Central London halal restaurants. Fancy, romantic, with the best view in London at night as well when the lights reflect on the water.

Radio Rooftop is probably one of the most underrated halal restaurants with a view in London.

With an amazing rooftop, this tapas restaurant located on the Strand is one of the most romantic halal places for you to take your date, your mother, or your best friend out for a celebration.

Radio Rooftop offers halal chicken, with all dishes being halal when they contain chicken.

If you would like to have other meats as well, such as beef or lamb it is possible to call the restaurant beforehand and ask whether you can pre-order such and such meat for such and such date.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Coco Grill & Lounge

Coco Grill & Lounge near London Bridge is one of the most romantic halal restaurants in London with a view, that’s for sure.

It focuses on Anatolian cuisine, and every ingredient is sourced in the UK, which means you will have on your plate completely fresh and full-of-flavor dishes.

Not only is Coco Grill & Lounge completely halal, but if you need or want vegetarian and vegan dishes, they are also available on the menu.

Anatolian cuisine resembles Turkish and Lebanese cuisines, and if you want to find a romantic halal restaurant in London that offers that kind of warm food, this is it.

Coco Grill & Lounge is not a rooftop restaurant, however, there is an outside terrace that allows you to have a view of Tower Bridge and the Thames River.

Just one of the overall most delicate and romantic halal restaurants with a view in London – minus the rooftop.

For an occasion or an anniversary, their halal fine dining menu made of gourmet burgers, ribeye steak, and lamb shish will have you hooked at the first bite.

The meats are halal certified, so that is definitely one of the fancy halal restaurants near Tower Bridge with a view of the river you will want to visit.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Ting at The Shard

When looking for the best halal restaurants with a view in London, Ting at The Shard is one of the best options.

I happen to have worked at Oblix at The Shard for a year before the pandemic stroke, and I love the atmosphere reigning in The Shard.

On the 35th floor, you have Ting at The Shard, which is part of the famous Shangri-La hotel.

This is one of the most delicious halal Chinese restaurants you will ever dine at in London, and that’s a fact.

If you’d like to eat halal there, you will have to pre-order halal lamb and chicken 24 to 48 hours in advance before the date of your reservation.

Ting is perfect for a fancy romantic date when you’re after halal fine dining in London and The Shard definitely offers one of the best views of the river.

Nearby, you have some of the best cafes to work in London Bridge, so you could start with a full workday before enjoying their delicate food.

Breakfast and afternoon tea are also available there, and you can get plant-based full English or a la carte dishes mixed with British notes.

The Asian dishes are made of mixed wok food, fish croquettes, beautiful halal steak, and delicious chocolate and miso pastry to finish off your meal beautifully.

The menu is incredibly dreamy and reminds me of halal Michelin star restaurants, and that’s definitely one of the best restaurants with a view in London that serves halal food!

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Madera Treehouse Hotel

At Madera at the Treehouse Hotel in London, you will have some of the fanciest romantic halal food ever.

This is a restaurant with a view of London located in the West, and it is a true fine dining experience you’re about to embark on at Madeira.

There, all the chicken is halal and I would also recommend calling when you book to make sure and to know whether you can pre-order some other halal meats.

To be fair, it’s not one of the true halal rooftop restaurants in London. Yes, but.

The view of London from Madeira is absolutely stunning, especially on a sunny day, and the wooden restaurant, with its modern greenery and reimagined Mexican dishes, are perfect for a romantic date.

I would say that their halal fine dining menu is quite laidback but still feels high-end.

And since Madera at Treehouse London is also open for breakfast, you could also get breakfast there without having to wonder whether the food is halal.

In addition, there are vegan menus available so that is also another option if you want to have even more choices.

One very good choice if you’re looking for the best halal rooftop restaurants in London.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Aviary London

Photo: Rated Trips

If you’re looking for very fancy rooftop halal restaurants with a view in London, Aviary London is going to be your next destination.

Why?

Because even if it’s not a fully halal restaurant, it is located right in the center of London, in Finsbury Square where you have some of the highest skyscrapers of the city.

The Aviary rooftop restaurant offers halal chicken, and mentions on its website that some of the sauces may contain alcohol, so do bear that in mind.

Located in the Montcalm Hotel, Aviary is perfect for a romantic date when you will want to dress up elegantly.

As always, I would recommend calling before booking because in any case, halal meat other than chicken has to be pre-ordered.

For those looking for halal rooftop restaurants in London with the best view and the best service, Aviary is perfect.

You’ll see the skyscrapers and the Thames, and I’d definitely recommend going at night to see all the bright lights of the city.

Also, you should know that there are lots of vegetarian dishes on the menu as well, so you could have a little mix of oysters, truffle burrata, or courgette tortelloni to fill up your belly nicely.

As I said, there are quite a few vegetarian dishes on the menu and you won’t miss the meat when you dine at Aviary London.

Definitely one of the best places also for halal breakfast in London, since they have some affordable bites elevated to a fine dining menu right in the heart of London.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Mezemiso

Located on Albert Embankment near London Bridge, Mezemiso is one of the most central halal rooftop restaurants in London with a view.

The concept is interesting; a mix of Japanese and Lebanese foods brought together.

It is not a fusion restaurant, and much like Novikov has an Italian restaurant and an Asian branch, Mezemiso has definite Japanese and Lebanese dishes on the menu.

The Lambeth restaurant offers halal food on the Lebanese menu, and if you are ever looking for halal Japanese restaurants in London, the whole of the Japanese menu is based on seafood.

Given the presence of alcohol in the on-site bar, Mezemiso is not an entirely halal rooftop restaurant in London, so bear that in mind before booking.

If you were looking for a halal restaurant with a view of the river Thames, the fact that the entire menu is made with halal meat is pretty interesting.

Especially since Mezemiso is probably one of the most underrated halal rooftop restaurants in London.

What You Have Nearby:

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Aqua Kyoto

Like Mezemiso, Aqua Kyoto is perfect if you’re looking for a halal restaurant with a view near Oxford Circus.

This is one of the very posh, very fancy halal restaurants in London with a view, and the rooftop at Aqua Kyoto is stunning.

I have come across Aqua Kyoto not too long ago, to be honest, while I was looking for halal sushi in London.

If like me, at some point, you’re looking for halal Japanese food and halal sushi in Central London, you’re going to be served.

Aqua Kyoto serves fine dining quality food, and the entire menu is based on halal meats, except for the Wagyu beef.

After dining at Aqua Kyoto, it was clear to me that this is one of the best halal rooftop restaurants in London, especially if you’re after a really fancy, fine dining experience.

Alcohol is served, preventing the restaurant to get an entirely halal certification, however, since you’re going to be eating some of the best sushi in London, you’re safe on that side.

It’s still one of the best halal restaurants in Soho in my opinion, considering the huge number of dishes we can order.

As the restaurant states, Aqua Kyoto serves delicious, authentic Japanese cuisine with a contemporary spin.

As you enter the restaurant, you will be welcomed by the fine decor.

For whoever wants to have a fine dining experience in one of the best halal rooftop restaurants in London, you’d do well to pass by the Oxford Circus restaurant.

Byblos Harbour is one of the most underrated halal restaurants in London with a view.

Granted, this one is not a halal rooftop restaurant, but the fact that it’s located right on the waterfront will allow you to have an utterly magical outdoor dining experience.

Focusing on a purely Lebanese menu, Byblos Harbour has a completely halal menu.

Shish taouk, mixed grill platters, meshwi, kafta, and an endless list of stunning meze will satisfy all your cravings for halal Lebanese food.

The restaurant is certainly not pretentious, but it gives off that fancy vibe that, let’s say it, we’re all looking for when we’re after a halal rooftop restaurant.

With the outdoor seating super close to the water, Byblos Harbour is probably one of the most romantic halal restaurants in London come nighttime as well.

So if you were looking for secret views in London... You’ll be served.

Ah, and despite the stunning waterfront view, Byblos Harbour is probably also one of the most affordable halal outdoor dining restaurants on this list.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Quartier

Although dining at Quartier at Moorgate commands preordering halal meat when you’re booking, this is probably one of the most underrated yet best halal rooftop restaurants in London with a view .

Located at 8 Moorgate, an uppity member’s club that offers stunning views of Central London protected by greenery, Quartier at Moorgate offers Modern European and British cuisine.

Moorgate is one of my favorite places to take a walk in London.

You’ve got everything close by, from TK Maxx I often visit to get DW Home candles and cheap Yankee Candles to Eataly, for some of the best focaccia and cheap pizza in London.

Quartier is on a whole other level (no pun intended), with Lobster mac, King prawn linguine, miso-glazed Scottish salmon, and even vegan dumplings.

Whatever ingredient you can think of, Quartier has thought of it and elevated it in such a way that if you’re looking for fancy halal rooftop restaurants in London, you’ve got just what you need there.

Best Halal Restaurants in London With a View: Searcy’s at the Gherkin

You will indeed have to preorder halal meat if you’d like to dine at the Searcy’s at the Gherkin, but with a view that exquisite, it’s really no hassle.

On the menu are lots of vegetarian and seafood dishes as well, from the signature Searcys smoked salmon to the premium Roscoff onion tarte Tatin and other roast Monkfish loins.

This is another interesting take on contemporary British cuisine that Searcy’s at the Gherkin ventures into, with great success.

You’ve not only got here one of the best halal rooftop restaurants in London but a menu that will make you want to come back as soon as you’re done dining.

I feel like Searcy’s at the Gherkin is still a very underrated spot.

With a two-course set menu at £49 and three courses at £57, it offers quite affordable prices if you’re looking for the perfect romantic setting.

Best Halal Rooftop Restaurants in London: Fenchurch at Sky Garden

best halal fine dining london - most romantic halal restaurants london - best halal restaurants in canary wharf - best halal restaurants with a view london - best views in london at night - best rooftop halal restaurants london - fancy halal restaurants london - best halal rooftop restaurants in london with a view - halal food canary wharf - best halal restaurants with a view tower bridge - halal restaurants with view gherkin - fenchurch sky garden
Photo: On in London

In my opinion, one of the best places to have free views of London is Sky Garden.

While it is a hassle to have to book to enjoy to see the views of Canary Wharf, The Shard, and the Thames river, it is indeed a great experience.

And even more enjoyable that it’s completely free and you can keep your budget for restaurants, scented candles, makeup, and whatnot.

What could be better, then, than dining at Sky Garden?

There are a few restaurants in the Sky Garden, but Fenchurch is one of those that require the least pre-booking time for halal meat.

Indeed, the contemporary British restaurant offers halal chicken and lamb, but it has to be preordered 72 hours in advance.

The Sky Garden is one of the best halal rooftop restaurants in London with a view unlike any you could get in the city, that’s true.

But it’s only open from Thursday to Sunday, so you’re going to want to schedule your visit according to the pretty short opening hours.

On the menu, barbequed scallops, ricotta gnocchi, stuffed Cornish red-legged chicken, and Yellowtail tuna tartare are some of the delicacies you’ll be able to enjoy.

And if you’re actually feeling like something different, there are lots of Italian restaurants in London Bridge, just a few minutes away, that also offer tremendously exquisite food.
