The thing is, there are lots of places to study around King’s Cross; one of my favorite free libraries, the British Library, alongside the Wellcome Collection, and a few coffee shops well-furnished with power outlets and free WiFi.

So I thought yeah, why not write about the best cafes to study near King’s Cross?

After all, that’s a lively area where you can get delicious brunch and breakfast, and you also have one of the coolest Harry Potter shops a few steps away, inside the St Pancras Station which makes for a cool break as well.

Best Cafes To Study near King’s Cross: Black Sheep Coffee

The first good study cafe in King’s Cross I’d like to mention is Black Sheep Coffee cafe.

I only really started spending time away from my desk at home to write in those really spacious coffee shops, which are often located in hot points in London.

You have some great Black Sheep Coffee near Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road, Covent Garden, and one near Brick Lane as well, close to the cool markets in Shoreditch and famous food spots like Beigel Shop Brick Lane.

And one of the best cafes to study near King’s Cross Station is the Black Sheep Coffee on Euston Road, located on Regent’s Place. What do we have there?

A really huge coffee shop to work in, with a few power outlets scattered throughout the cafe and a rustic experience that is perfect if you’re looking for the best cafes with WiFi near King’s Cross to spend the day.

Best Cafes To Work Near King’s Cross: Costa Coffee

Costa Coffee is another one of the best cafes to study near King’s Cross Station, and in terms of the situation, you really can’t beat that.

Indeed, this Costa Coffee is located right between King’s Cross Station and St Pancras International Station.

Actually, as soon as you get out of King’s Cross Station, you see this Costa Coffee making the angle of Euston Road.

It’s really decently sized, with lots of seats and the usual drinks and cakes you would expect at a Costa Coffee.

From my experience, the further you go out of Central London and areas like King’s Cross, Covent Garden, and Soho, the bigger the Costa Coffee cafes are getting.

That’s why my personal favorite is the cafe in West Hampstead, clearly huge and made for freelancers and students looking to not work from home for a day.

And while this is one of the really central cafes to work, right next to the hub that is King’s Cross Station, I’ve found there are often tables and seats available to work.

The WiFi is also great, and there are a few power outlets in the coffee shop perfect for whoever is looking for the best study spaces in London without having to pay for a day at a coworking space.

Best Cafes To Study near King’s Cross: Wellcome Collection Cafe

The Wellcome Collection, you definitely see it in any guide and blog that talks about free places to work in London.

This mix of a health and body museum and a stunningly decorated Reading Room is perfect for students and freelancers looking for places to study near King’s Cross.

We’re about 5-10 mn away from The British Library and King’s Cross Station, with The Wellcome Collection being built right onto Euston Road.

But there’s one thing no one talks about, and that’s the Wellcome Collection cafe.

Yes indeed, it’s a cafe, so you’ll be able to purchase a few cakes and coffees throughout the day as you’re working.

The Wellcome Collection cafe is huge, and there’s really a lot of space to just sit down and start working while enjoying the free WiFi.

You have the Quaker Bookshop & Seed Cafe located just a few minutes away on foot as well – and that’s one of the best cafes to study near King’s Cross should you wish to (with lots of vegan cakes).

Best Cafes To Work in London: Redemption Roasters

In Coals Drop Yard, you have one of the coolest branches of Redemption Roasters, which offers delicious specialty coffee as well as really fast WiFi.

Redemption Roasters are one of the most famous coffee roasters in London, alongside Caravan Coffee Roasters, and they have a few really good cafes to study in London, including one in Islington near Angel.

The one in Coals Drop Yard might not be the biggest cafe to work in London, but there are a few seats outside perfect when the weather gets warmer, and a few inside as well where you can enjoy vegan cakes and creamy hot coffee.

That’s not one of the King’s Cross cafes I’d advise staying all day at, but it’s really cool if you’re looking for good spots to study around Granary Square and Coals Drop Yard.

Best Cafes To Study near King’s Cross: Starbucks

I love working at Starbucks – my favorites are located on Oxford Street, near some of the coolest makeup stores and candle shops in London, and on Tottenham Court Road near Warren Street Station.

Another one I discovered not too long ago is actually located close to Black Sheep Coffee I’ll mention right below, just a few numbers away.

You’ve got free WiFi in this Starbucks as well as power outlets, so if you’re looking for the best cafes to study near King’s Cross, I kind of want to say that Starbucks really never lets me down.

You’ll find lots of people working there – I feel like Starbucks really has become this hub for students and freelancers looking for cafes to work in London, isn’t it?

A decently-sized coffee shop with the same cakes, sandwiches, and coffee you’d find in other Starbucks in London, and perfect to be productive with work for a few hours or an entire day.

Best Places To Study near King’s Cross: Black Sheep Coffee Pentonville Road

You have another quite big Black Sheep Coffee on Pentonville Road, which is located just a few minutes away from King’s Cross Station.

Going higher up the road, you have one of the best charity shops in London, Fara Charity, which is perfect whether you’re looking for secondhand clothes or are addicted to finding new used books for your collection.

Black Sheep Coffee on Pentonville Road is equal to the other coffee shops of the branch, with delicious coffee and a wooden, rustic background that reminds me a lot of Caffè Nero.

Wooden settings are something I love when I really feel like I need a bit of help feeling inspired that day.

Black Sheep Coffee is definitely another one of the best cafes to study near King’s Cross if you sometimes feel like your work isn’t shining as bright as you’d like it to.

With power outlets a bit everywhere and really good, free WiFi, that’s one of the places to study you really need to write down on your must-visit coffee shops near King’s Cross.

Best Cafes To Study near King’s Cross: Frequency

Frequency is an amazing cafe to study on King’s Cross Road, simply because there’s free WiFi, the possibility to work, and a lively background with people chatting happily at all times of the day.

It’s also open from 7 am till 9 pm except at weekends when Frequency closes at 4 pm, so you’re really able to use the coffee shop as a study spot if you want to.

There’s another Frequency right off Islington High Street, after Pentonville Road which is also amazing for whoever is after the best study cafes in London, and I would definitely recommend trying them out.

There’s free WiFi and a few power outlets perfect for students and freelancers.

While the King’s Cross cafe is a tad on the smaller side, the taste of the coffee and the quality of the food definitely make up for the lack of space.

Also, I don’t know about you, but I love hearing people chat in coffee shops as I’m writing on my laptop and trying to brainstorm ideas.

If you’re like me, you might just have found one of the best study spaces in London with the Frequency coffee shop.

Best Cafes To Work in London: Notes Coffee Roasters

Notes Coffee Roasters & Bar is another one of the best cafes to study near King’s Cross, but with much fewer power outlets.

That’s one of the coffee shops I would advise coming to if your laptop and phone are charged, and the menu is great as well.

In my opinion, the real upside of Notes Coffee Roasters on Pancras Road is the fact that there is space upstairs (like in Pret Marble Arch), so you can really use it as a study space without being bothered or interrupted.

The lack of power outlets will mostly bother those who don’t have a Macbook if I’m being honest.

But if you’re looking to study on your notebooks and books, and only do some light work on your laptop, I still feel like it’s one of the best cafes to work in London near King’s Cross Station.

Best Cafes To Study near King’s Cross: British Library Cafe

Well, one doesn’t really need to introduce The British Library anymore – that’s one of the best free coworking spaces in London.

There are loooots of students, freelancers, and people coming to The British Library because it’s simply one of the best places to study near King’s Cross Station – and in the whole of London.

That also means that some days, if you don’t come early enough, you’re not going to find a good spot.

No worries though, while I personally queue in the morning in front of the doors of The British Library to go and get some work done, there are so many tables with power outlets built in the tables that you’re bound to find a spot.

Don’t tempt fate though, and really go as early as you can. Because if you’re missing a table with the power outlets, there are lots of other tables, but they’re not as productive-friendly.

In any case, The British Library has a few coffee shops on almost every floor, and while some are more of the restaurant type, others are definitely perfect for anyone looking for the best cafes to work in London with free WiFi.

Best Places To Study near King’s Cross: Caravan Coffee Roasters

There are lots of Caravan Coffee Roasters in London; one of them just behind St Pancras International station is perfect if you’re looking to have brunch near King’s Cross.

And while you can literally work at any of these Caravan Coffee Roasters, a lot of them are really popular amongst Australian coffee shop lovers and people who like finding instagrammable cafes in London.

And these cafes slash restaurants might sometimes be too crowded for you to focus well for a long time.

If you’re looking for the best cafes to study near King’s Cross, the Caravan Coffee Roasters at The Office Group on Euston Road is a plain coffee shop.

Not a restaurant, albeit you can still have some of the best breakfast in London there.

Just a plain coffee shop that makes for one of the best places to study near King’s Cross.

It’s also located just a few minutes walk from The Wellcome Collection, one of the best free and quiet study spaces in London, and if you don’t feel comfortable, you can always switch during the day.

However, honestly, that shouldn’t happen.

Caravan Coffee Roasters is one of the most famous coffee roasters in London, and with free WiFi and a few power outlets in the cafe, that’s one of the best study spots near King’s Cross, right on Euston Road.

Best Cafes To Study near King’s Cross: Caffè Nero Warren Street

I mentioned Caffè Nero on Warren Street a few times already; in my opinion, it’s one of the best Caffè Nero to study in London. You’d think it’s a small coffee shop from the few seats you’ve got in the front of the cafe, but wow.

The first time I actually went to the back of the coffee shop, I was surprised to see that many seats are free for whoever is looking for a good WiFi cafe.

Really nothing bad to say about Caffè Nero Warren Street, it’s been one of my favorite chain coffee shops to sit at all day and write on my laptop, and I have a feeling it’ll be the case for a long time to come.

We’re straying from the best cafes to study near King’s Cross Station with this one; this Caffè Nero is indeed located at the end of Tottenham Court Road where it makes a junction with Euston Road.

However, if you’re down to walk 10 minutes, you have everything from free and fast WiFi to a lot of people working there on their laptops – a great study space if you want to stay motivated throughout the day.
