A local’s guide to the best coworking spaces in Rome for freelancers, digital nomads and students looking for quiet spots to work and study!
Finding a coworking space in Rome is literally one of the easiest things to do when you’re a digital nomad.
The only thing is that if you don’t speak Italian, it might be a bit tricky to interact when you arrive in the shared office space.
On the other hand, coworking in Rome is something that will make you happiest in the city.
I have already written about the best cafes to work in Rome some time ago, and you should definitely check it out if you’re looking for a more laidback way of working and creating.
However, if you’re looking for a coworking space to be a bit more structured in your way of working, then you’ve landed on the right page today.
I have listed only the very best spots for coworking in Rome, so you know that those are top-notch and will really help ideas flow.
8 Best Coworking Spaces in Rome For Digital Nomads
I will always be of the opinion that coworking in Rome can really help push your career forward.
Having lived in Rome for a year before I moved back to London, I know how people think, and I do know that coworking spaces are not one of the most famous things in Italy.
That’s how I’ve found some of the best places to study in Rome, my favorites, sunny places that will motivate you to study and work.
However, I have felt while coworking in Roma, that the amenities, the sun, the way of living, and eating were really helping me with freelance writing and blogging.
That was there one of the best years of my life, and even if Rome coworking isn’t a really big thing, the city is expanding in terms of digital and virtual advancements.
And that’s something I love – I am used to coworking spaces in Paris and London, but I didn’t know that Rome could offer some of the best coworking spots in the world.
So, you’ll see here some of the places I have visited and/or will visit as soon as I’m back in Italy and need to find a space for coworking in Rome.
Now, let’s get on with the best spaces you can create from!
Coworking Roma: SmartSquare by YellowSquare

When I started coworking in Roma, SmartSquare was the first coworking space I visited, and I quickly fell in love with it.
At that point, I was living at the YellowSquare hostel, located right in front of the coworking space near Termini.
I think this is clearly one of the best coworking spaces in Rome if what you’re looking for is peace and quiet.
I have also made connections there with other entrepreneurs and exchanged plenty of ideas – which is one of the goals of coworking in Rome, London, Boston, Paris, Sydney, New York, or wherever it is that you’re coworking, isn’t it?
If you’re looking for an affordable hot desk in Rome, SmartSquare can definitely provide what you’re after, including fast WiFi, power outlets, air-con, and the proximity to the Termini central station.
I really enjoyed my time working in this Rome coworking space, and at €20 a day from 7 am to 11 pm (and a great €250 per month), SmartSquare has some of the widest opening hours in the whole city.

Rome Coworking: Coaster

If you’re looking for another way to see coworking in Rome, then Coaster is going to be the perfect shared office space for you.
Why? Because Coaster goes much further than a simple coworking space like others you might come across in Rome. What we have here is an office located near San Pietro and the Vatican, where bizmatching lies at the core of the brand.
Bizmatching?
Yes – do not expect to just take out your laptop and work on your own projects here.
If you’re a freelancer or a start-up looking for concrete opportunities to advance your career, this is the perfect spot for coworking in Rome.
You will meet people, you will find work, you will find projects, and you might very well find some of the greatest opportunities of your career here.
Bet you never thought that a coworking office in Rome could change your (professional) life. Pay by the hour, daily, weekly, or monthly.

Coworking Roma: Anticafé

I wrote about the Anticafé in my guide to the best coffee shops to study and work in Rome, and more than a simple cafe, it is a true coworking space in Rome.
I first came across the Anticafé brand name when I visited Lyon a few years ago when Anticafé was still a very young company.
They slowly expanded to a great chunk of the planet, and I love their vibe wherever I work.
If you’re looking for a coworking space in Rome where work and pleasure mix, then Anticafé is definitely the one you need to visit.
You can pay by the day or by the hour, so I’d say that’s one of the easiest ways to find a hot desk in Rome.
There are various sizes of desks, tables, and booths, and once you pay your entry fee, you can then enjoy free juices, coffee, tea, pastries, free WiFi, and much more.
I have said it already, and I will say it again – that is one of the best and most fun coworking spaces in Rome.
There are other locations all over Europe, and I love that Anticafé has been able to grow so much over the past few years.
For instance, I am used to visiting the Anticafé coworking cafe in Paris.
The teams working there are always the best and friendliest, and the coworking spaces are always filled with people who really want to make it in life.
And that, folks, really is priceless when you’re trying to make your dreams come true – coworking space or not.

Coworking Roma: Office 21

One very central coworking space in Rome is Office 21, located just a few minutes away from Piazza Navona.
I’ve always loved this wide piazza, with its three stunning fountains and countless statues.
And I think there is no other spot that could be more perfect for coworking Roma, especially on a warm day when the outside temperature gets a wee bit unbearable.
Office 21 is quiet yet lively at the same time, and every single item from the desks and chairs to the atmosphere is comfortable and likely to motivate you in your endeavors.
The space is a bit more expensive than SmartSquare or Anticafé are, for instance, but the amenities and location more than make up for it.
Expect to pay €25 for a full day at this central Rome coworking space, €110 for a week, and €365 for a full month, all including IVA.
For that price, you can use the printer, get free coffee and water, and enjoy a really well-connected shared office with entrepreneurs and freelancers you might make lifelong friends with.
But of course, one of the coolest features of the Central Rome coworking space is how stylish, quiet and high-end it looks.

Coworking Roma: Impact Hub

Impact Hub, on Via Palermo, is a very central coworking space in Rome that offers not only hot desks but also meeting rooms and a great hub of connected people.
I love the San Lorenzo area since it’s so young, trendy, and always bustling with colorful people.
As such, I had to include Impact Hub in this guide for coworking Roma, now, hadn’t I?
Do not expect a ‘normal’ feel when you visit Impact Hub – it is more of a sustainable, environmentally-friendly coworking office in Rome where the desks, for one, are made out of cardboard.
This is a statement, that’s for sure, and one that as a freelancer and digital nomad, I very much appreciate.
However, if you’re looking for a proper, usual space for coworking in Rome, that might not be the one you’re after.
But if you’re down to broaden your mindset and get to know new ways of thinking and seeing life, then you should definitely pay a visit to Impact Hub.
All in all, a very clean space where you’ll be able to work by the hour, for a few hours, weekly, or monthly according to your needs.
Do not be put off by the simplicity of the space, as you never know who you might meet as you’re working!

Coworking Roma: Millepiani

If I had to really choose one of the best spaces when it comes to coworking Roma, then it would be Millepiani.
Not only because it is located very close to the last apartment I rented in Rome, but also because the Garbatella slash Ostiense zones are two of my favorites in the city.
They’re lively, young, trendy, and very much resemble the San Lorenzo area where you can find Impact Hub (that you can find right below in this guide).
Millepiani is a coworking space in Rome that opened in 2014, so it’s been one of the perfect shared office spaces in the city for almost ten years now.
This is also one of the coworking spaces that really focus on a community that helps each other out, where you can discuss projects and really grow your business with people who understand what it’s like to be a digital nomad.
Around Ostiense, there is also another great cafe to work in Rome, the Caffè Letterario, that you should definitely visit if you like messy, artsy working spaces.
Whether you’re looking for a hot desk in Rome or a meeting room to rent and hold workshops and conferences, Millepiani can definitely cater to you.
As long as you’re in it to enjoy the process of building your own thing, that’s a coworking space you’re going to want to visit.
The prices are among some of the cheapest in the city, at €10 a day, €50 a week, and €75 a month. Really a lowkey amazing Roman coworking space, just a few minutes’ walk from the Garbatella station.

Coworking Roma: Famo Cose

Famo Cose is one of those spaces for coworking Roma that resembles the most the ones that you can find in cities like Paris and London.
Having lived in Rome, I know how warm and lively the people are, but I do remember life being much less structured in Italy than it is in London.
And that’s very well and dandy, and there’s no judgment I’m putting there.
Still, Famo Cose is a coworking space in Rome located in Pigneto, a very street-artsy area of the city.
This is also one of the most state-of-the-art coworking spaces in the city, with a dark room, 3D printing, and laser-cutting machines.
So, if you’re an artist and trying to build up your business in an artistic field, Famo Cose is the perfect space for you.
I always very much value coworking spaces that foster creativity.
Beyond simple interconnectivity and meeting new people, it is great to be able to find professional tools for when you’re trying to push your business forward and trying to find new shapes, cuts, and products.

Coworking Roma: Wire Coworking

The last coworking space in Rome I’d like to mention in this guide is also one of the best.
Centrally located in the old Trastevere area, Wire Coworking is one of the friendliest coworking spaces you’ll ever find anywhere in the world.
What I love is the young atmosphere, even if that’s something you can find in many shared offices.
Expect to pay €25 for a day, and €200 per month with the ability to use the Wire Coworking amenities for three days a week.
If you’re more interested in a dedicated desk, it will cost you €300 a month, which is very affordable when you consider just how central and available the coworking space is.
Free coffee and water, free WiFi, and networking possibilities lie at the base of this coworking space.
Trastevere is one of the coolest areas in Rome, so I’d definitely recommend working at Wire Coworking at least once while you’re in Rome.
