When in search for the prettiest neighborhoods in Rome, a must visit hidden gem is the Quartiere Coppedè in the Trieste district.
This area offers some of the most beautiful houses in Rome, with distinctive Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Medieval, Baroque and Gothic architectures.
This is a very small neighborhood – about 5 streets large -which offers fascinating frescoes and sculptures.

The Quartiere Coppedè was and still remains one of the most instagrammable places in Rome if you’re willing to take the bus to the Trieste area.

Prettiest Neighborhoods in Rome for Food: Rione Monti
Monti is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Rome, and features plenty of attractions that revolve around architecture, history, food and shopping.

Lovers of ruins, you’ll find in Monti several Roman ruins which include the Forum of Augustus and the Forum of Nerva.
If you want to go shopping after a visit to the ruins and a good Roman breakfast, you can also head to the Mercato Monti.

And for a little bit of religious art, pay a visit to San Pietro in Vincoli.

Prettiest Neighborhoods in Rome to Walk Around: Pigneto
For avid seekers of street art in Rome, Pigneto is one of the must visit places for frescoes and tiny stickers.
We often say that Rome is an open air museum, and when you see just how many Roman forums, street art and stunning architecture there is all around you, you’ll understand.
Pigneto is one of the prettiest neighborhoods in Rome, and offers its own very ‘nightlife’ atmosphere.
You’ll find there La Bottiglieria, one of the best cafes to work in Rome, where you’ll also be able to enjoy crazy amazing breakfast and brunch.
There are in addition lots of vintage shops in the Pigneto neighborhood, markets, and independent cinemas that will really allow you to enjoy your trip to Rome.
It’s also much less touristy, very local, very Roman, but surely one of the best places to enjoy the vibe of the city.

Prettiest Neighborhoods in Rome for Food: Testaccio
Testaccio is located in the South of Rome, and it offers some of the best things to enjoy in Rome.
You’ll find there the Piramide Cestia, which dates back from the 1st century BC, and obviously one of the best photo spots in Rome.
That’s not all – I told you all about the best street food and cheap eats you could find in the city once, and mentioned Trapizzino.
Well, Trapizzino has more than their restaurant in Trastevere – you can also find them at Testaccio Market.
From beautiful pizza to incredible marinated eggplants, Testaccio Market is one of the best food markets in Rome.
Beautiful street art all around Testaccio undoubtedly makes it one of the prettiest neighborhoods in Rome to walk around, stay, or even live in.

Prettiest Neighborhoods in Rome to Walk Around: Garbatella & Ostiense
I used to live in Garbatella, really close to the metro station, and I have to say this was one of the best moments of my life.
Garbatella is known for offering some of the best street art in Rome – often controversial, always beautiful.
This is a historically working class neighborhood which hosts plenty of cafes and restaurants, gardens and parks.
Nearby, Ostiense, more of an industrial area, is known for its street art in addition to stunning restaurants and cafes.
One of the best supermarkets in Rome, Eataly, offers premium Italian fare in both the shop and the restaurant.
I consider Garbatella one of the prettiest neighborhoods in Rome for artists, photographs, or people who draw – this is truly an inspiring place to walk around.

Prettiest Neighborhoods in Rome to Walk Around: Prati & The Vatican
Of course, a must visit on a solo trip to Rome is visiting the Vatican and the Prati neighborhood around.
There are so many things to do around the Vatican, and that includes resting on the gorgeous Piazza Cavour, sightseeing on Ponte Sant’Angelo in front of the castle, or shopping.
At the Vatican, a visit to the Basilica di San Pietro is necessary if you love all things golden and carefully-curated.
Beyond a religious space built in the Vatican, the Basilica is a true jewel, with some of the most beautiful art and sculptures in Rome – and in the whole world.
Another one of the prettiest streets in Rome, Via Arco dei Banchi, is located close to the Vatican and Castel Sant’Angelo.
This blue starry sky passageway is one of the best hidden gems in Rome, and perfect if you’re looking for secret photo spots in the city.
Lastly, another one of the things that make the Vatican and Prati one of the prettiest neighborhoods in Rome is the Hendrik Christian Andersen Museum.
This is a completely free Roman museum in which you’ll be able to enjoy the sculptures crafted by Andersen, and his house upstairs can also be visited.

Prettiest Neighborhoods in Rome to Walk Around: Trevi & Galleria Sciarra
Trevi is one of the oldest and prettiest neighborhoods in Rome, named after the famous Trevi Fountain.
You’ll find here some of the cutest streets in the city, as well as Via del Corso, which hosts some of the best clothes shops in Rome.
Close to the Trevi Fountain, you will find the Quirinale Palace, the official residence of the President, which also doubles as the perfect spot to see the sunset in Rome.
Walk less than 5 minutes from the Trevi Fountain, and you will encounter the Galleria Sciarra, also called Palazzo Sciarra.
The Galleria Sciarra is usually pretty empty, and one of the best hidden gems in Rome.
Complete with Art Nouveau Frescoes inspired from Greek mythology and fairy tales, Galleria Sciarra is the perfect example of Art Nouveau architecture.
This is the perfect spot to take pictures – I know I have taken dozens here – and close to amazing ice cream shops and tiramisu places too.
Just make sure to include it in your Rome itinerary, and I promise you won’t regret it!

Prettiest Neighborhoods in Rome to Walk Around: Campo de Fiori & Piazza Navona
Both Campo de’ Fiori and Piazza Navona are located in the very heart of Rome, and are two very touristic areas.
That means you should really pay attention to your belongings, are Rome is famous for its pickpockets as much as it is for its monuments.
From fresh fruit to flowers and some of the coolest bars in Rome, Campo de’ Fiori is filled with things to do.
One of my favorite places to eat in Rome is TabaCafe, located right in Campo de’ Fiori, which offers some delicious late night bites.
Nearby, Piazza Navona is another one of the most famous landmarks in Rome, and a pleasure to walk around given how beautiful the architecture is in this area.
Three fountains populate Piazza Navona as well as palaces and churches, and that’s also where you will find one of the best Christmas markets in Rome.
A must visit on a beautiful day!

Prettiest Neighborhoods in Rome to Walk Around: Laghetto dell’EUR
The EUR district of Rome offers one of the cutest hidden gems you could ever imagine, the Laghetto dell’EUR.

Due to World War II, the World’s Fair was cancelled, and today, if you’re looking for absolutely gorgeous places to see the cherry blossom in Rome, the Laghetto dell’EUR is it.
There is a lots of things to do in the Laghetto dell’EUR, which include the Square Colosseum (Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana), a stunning building which doubles as Fendi’s headquarters.
Various churches and parks can be found at EUR, which is not located in the center of Rome but allows us to really enjoy nature in the middle of the city.
