During the week, many a freelancer comes to enjoy the free WiFi and coffee imported overnight from Colombia to New York.
Beware, at weekends, Devocion does not offer WiFi, just to allow people to unstick their eyes from the laptop screen and actually catch up with one another.

While Sey Coffee in East Williamsburg is not the biggest coffee shop in Brooklyn, you’ll still find lots of freelancers and students working there at every hour of the day.
Sey Coffee offers two things freelancers love in a coffee shop: an open space and delicious coffee from all parts of the world, including Ethiopia, Mexico, and Costa Rica.

Located between Downtown Brooklyn and Brooklyn Heights, the Brooklyn Roasting Company cafe is perfect if you’re looking to make it happen for yourself that day.
It’s spacious and airy, and the Brooklyn Roasting Company has large windows to stare into the void as you’re focusing on your next chapter – or sentence if you’re a writer.
You won’t find as many freelancers and student peers nor as much space for working in the Clinton St coffee shop as you would have in the now-closed Jay Street branch, but it’s still an amazing place to write and work on your laptop.

The Freelancers Hub is located in Industry City, in Sunset Park, and it’s a free coworking space perfect for freelancers who are not feeling like working at a coffee shop – or want to switch up their work environment.
You can either come for a hot desk, or you can sign up as a member for free and enjoy up to 8 days of free coworking a month – even better than a coffee shop in Brooklyn, even with free WiFi, especially if you want to make connections!
In a city where everything from a single espresso to the rent is tough on the wallet, the Freelancers Hub is a great opportunity for freelancers to launch their business and build it up in time.

Coffee Project in Fort Greene is another one of the best cafes to work in Brooklyn, especially if you like the exposed brick layout and having other freelancers working nearby.
I don’t know about you, but whether I work in Europe, the UK, or anywhere in the world, I like feeling that other people are working and studying next to me – it makes me feel as if we’re all in this together.

With Kos Kaffe, you’ve got one of the best cafes to work in Brooklyn if you’re close to Park Slope. It’s one of the most popular coffee shops in Brooklyn, at least for students and freelancers.
And while Kos Kaffe really is decently spacious, I can never get over the fact that I have to arrive at a coffee shop to work as early as possible during the day.

You’ll find lots of freelancers working at Kos Kaffe since you’ve got free WiFi and amazing coffee there, but pay attention to rush hour times.
During these hours, which go from 12 pm to 3 pm during the week and 10 am to 4 pm at weekends, you’ll only be able to use your laptop in certain parts of the coffee shop to allow people to enjoy the delicious sandwiches and pastries that Kos Koffee offers.

The Sweatshop is not the biggest coffee shop in this guide, but it’s one of the really cool cafes in Brooklyn, and a bit different since it offers lots of specialty coffee and Aussie specialties.
You’ve got a few seats here and there, along with a communal table, and since The Sweatshop is pretty popular, I’d definitely recommend arriving as early as possible.

If you’re around Greenpoint, you’re going to want to pay a visit to Odd Fox Coffee.
The uber-colorful spot is one of the most aesthetic cafes in Brooklyn to work, especially since they’ve got plenty of seating space inside for you to make it happen.
The Greenpoint coffee shop is perfect whether you’re looking to study your books, write on your notebooks, or are looking for a laptop friendly cafe in Brooklyn to work.
Odd Fox currently has two locations; one in Greenpoint, as well as one in Bed-Stuy. Both coffee shops are great for work, enjoying life passing by, make plans for the future… Up to you.

Best Cafes to Work in Brooklyn NYC: Starbucks Cobble Hill
There are quite a few Starbucks in Brooklyn, and they’re all to some extent some of the best cafes to work in Brooklyn. However, you know Starbucks – they’re kind of the same everywhere.
If you’ve recently moved to Cobble Hill and don’t really know of any coffee shops to study and do work, Starbucks will always be a great idea, although it has much less personality than all the Brooklyn cafes I’ve mentioned here today.
On Montague St, you’ve got a pretty good Starbucks with quite a few seats where you’ll find people working all day long.
There’s also another one on Court Street, where you’ll find a really good seating area in the basement – perfect if you’re looking for cafes in Brooklyn to work without being interrupted.
