A local’s guide to the best makeup shops in Rome for Italian makeup and beauty brands; and some international makeup as well – all you need for cosmetics!
Whether you’re doing shopping in Trastevere or in famous Via del Corso, you may at some point need to know where to buy cosmetics in Rome.
There are some international brands available around the city, but I prefer smaller, indie makeup brands; always have, always will.
As an ex-makeup artist, I may have hung my brushes, but I still love makeup and color as much as day 1.
If you’re looking for truly Italian makeup brands or just wanting to see what’s available in Rome, keep reading, and you’ll discover the likes of Wycon Cosmetics, Shaka Beauty and more!
Rome’s 6 Best Makeup Shops for Italian Cosmetics

I paid a visit to roughly all the cosmetics shops around me when I was living in Rome, and of course, I wanted to discover Italian makeup brands.
But sometimes, I found in international makeup shops in Rome lots of small, independent brands that I fell in love with 🙂
Best Makeup Shops in Rome: Wycon Cosmetics

Ah, Wycon Cosmetics – one of the best Italian makeup brands from eyeshadow to lipstick.
It is one of the newest makeup shops in Rome, since the brand was established in 2009, and Wycon Cosmetics brings that kind of fun that I feel like Kiko Milano lost when they started releasing the same limited edition products over and over again.
If you’re around the Via del Corso shops, you’ve got a big Wycon Cosmetics makeup shop there, and if I may, you should definitely try their waterproof eye pencils.
The Wycon Cosmetics lipsticks are also incredible, and the Italian brand also releases limited edition collections from time to time that are out of this world.
In terms of prices, you’ve got lipsticks priced at roughly €6 or €7, with liquid lipsticks obviously priced a bit higher, and the Wycon Cosmetics products are some of the most interesting and pigmented in Rome, that’s a fact.
There’s another Wycon Cosmetics shop in the Termini station at street level, but I don’t feel like the customer service is as good as the shop on Via del Corso, so the latter is definitely where I’d recommend you go.
Best Cosmetics Stores in Rome: OVS

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love OVS; it is one of my ultimate favorite makeup shops in Rome. If you’re looking for Trastevere shopping spots, the OVS shop on Viale di Trastevere, not too far from Tiramisu Trastevere and Caffè Trastevere is perfect to get all sorts of makeup brands.
While some OVS shops have a really big makeup range (like OVS near Piazza Bologna close to the Meeting Point, a perfect coffee shop to have breakfast in Rome), the shop in Trastevere is a tad smaller.
You’ll still find countless makeup brands, from Shaka Beauty to Revolution and Essence.
The Essence makeup range is actually a big reason why I visit OVS, because I love everything about Essence, from the super cheap prices to the large range of nail polish colors.
OVS has lots of locations in town, and if you’re looking for the best makeup shops in Rome, I really can’t recommend this chain enough. They have lots of skincare and body mists as well, and you can only feel good while shopping for makeup in the OVS stores.

Best Cosmetics Stores in Rome: Acqua e Sapone

Acqua e Sapone isn’t only one of the best makeup shops in Rome, you’ve also got lots of skincare, haircare, and even home goods in this institution of Italian cosmetics stores.
The famous chain of Italian stores carries some of the most famous makeup brands in Italy like Deborah Milano and Pupa Milano, which you definitely have to try if you’re trying to infuse a little bit of Italian style into your own.
But what I’d like to add and recommend, is that when you pay a visit to Acqua e Sapone, you should definitely try one of my very favorite Italian skincare brands; I Provenziali.
It’s very difficult to find skincare and haircare brands as amazing as I Provenziali, which I spend a lot of time looking for in makeup stores in London.
From lip balm to face oil, I Provenziali is one of the best cosmetics brands in Italy, as it relies heavily on natural ingredients and delicious scents, and it’s just a shame they don’t have any self-standing cosmetics shops in Rome.
Best Makeup Shops in Rome: Bio Domus Roma

Where to buy makeup in Italy that would be organic in the Rome area? I’ve got the answer for you, with the oh-too-underrated shop Bio Domus Roma.
One of the most secret cosmetic store names in Rome, in my opinion, Bio Domus Roma is located in the Manzoni area, where you’ll also find some of the best street art in Rome.
If you’re looking for organic makeup brands in Italy like Neve Cosmetics, Propolia, Dr. Organic or So Bio, and even the French makeup brand Couleur Caramel, Bio Domus Roma has them all.
In addition to being one of the best makeup shops in Rome, the small cosmetics store carries a large range of skincare and haircare.
I didn’t think there would be such a cosmetics shop in Rome, but Bio Domus Roma will soon become one of your favorite makeup shops if you’re into organic, natural makeup, and cosmetics brands.
Best Makeup Shops in Rome: Casalinghi da Emma

I’ve got a weird obsession with makeup and cosmetics, that’s true, and while I love shopping in famous makeup shops in Rome, I’ll still try out any brand I can find.
And one brand you can find in the little convenience stores, called casalinghi in Italy, is Astra Makeup.
I’ve found the biggest selection of Astra Makeup products at Casalinghi da Emma on Via Arenula, just a few steps away from the famous Largo di Torre Argentina, which also hosts one of the best cafes to work in Rome on top of LaFeltrinelli bookshop.
One thing I absolutely love about Astra Makeup is the nail polish; both the colors and the quality of these nail polishes are incredible.
However, at Casalinghi da Emma, you’ll also find the complete collection of Astra Makeup lipsticks, lip liners, and eyeshadows – anything you might want to try, in a great makeup brand at a very low cost.
Best Cosmetics Stores in Rome: Bottega Verde
Last on this list of the best makeup shops in Rome is Bottega Verde. There are a few Bottega Verde shops in Rome that sell their excellent skincare, haircare, and makeup products, and I simply love them.
To be honest, I’m not that much into organic makeup brands at all, something I should act on to discover new organic and vegan brands, but Bottega Verde is absolutely incredible.
If you’re looking for true Italian makeup brands in Rome, do pay a visit to the Bottega Verde shop in Termini station – it is one of the most famous beauty stores in Italy.
It’s located close to some other makeup shops, and Bottega Verde has a lot of incredible skincare and haircare collections sorted by scent – from mint to apple, and lots of floral scents as well.
When I was living near Termini, and Bottega Verde was one of the closest makeup shops near me, I’d shop there pretty often.
If I’ve got a few products to recommend, it would be the Semi di Lino hair oil, alongside the Bottega Verde lipsticks.
