Fitzrovia, with its location really close to Marylebone, Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street, is a hip, colorful and very beautiful neighborhood you’ll have to pop by at least once when traveling to London.
It’s notably filled with gorgeous streets like the uber colorful James Street, as well as lots of cool charity shops and independent boutiques – and when you’re done visiting them all, try out Italian Bear Chocolate.

Before we get started, you should know that Italian Bear Chocolate is located on Rathbone Place, one of the cutest places in London.
All around it, you have lots of independent cafes, restaurants, and beautiful passageways that make for perfect photo spots, should you wish to snap a few shots.
Its super central location means that if you’re traveling to London on a budget, you will have plenty of spots to visit.
For instance, free rooftops like the Post Building rooftop, or the ultra colorful and ever-so-interesting Outernet at the Now building.
And of course, close by, some of Oxford Street’s best shops, including Superdrug, Primark and one of the biggest TK Maxx in London!

Even if hot chocolate is a treat we love to enjoy as soon as it gets cold and rainy in London, Italian Bear Chocolate is about much more than that.
Of course, the Triple Chocolate Mocha being their best-selling item, that’s the one I would definitely recommend you try, especially if you’re a chocolate lover.

However, and even if chocolate lies at the core of the Italian Bear Chocolate concept, I would also recommend trying out their pastries, which include delightful cookies and biscuits.
Chocolate truffles and decadent chocolate cake slices à la Matilda are also available on the menu, but if you’re looking for kind of secret places to eat breakfast in Central London, that’s also the spot to visit.

Italian Bear Chocolate Fitzrovia Review: What We Ordered
A few months ago, I was invited to try out the Italian Bear Chocolate menu and give my opinion about their specialties.
I went with a good friend of mine, who happens to enjoy great food just as much as I do, and we were recommended the following items:
- The Italian Hot Chocolate (we both ordered the gianduja hot chocolate in a small size)
- The chocolate cake topped with white, milk and dark chocolate
- The chocolate-covered strawberries

Not one item on the Italian Bear Chocolate menu would look out of place on an Instagram feed, if I’m being honest.
The chocolate cake, in particular, looks glorious with its layers of molten chocolate on top – definitely the type of dessert you want to eat when you’re usually having a clean diet, intermittent fasting, even.

Italian Bear Chocolate Fitzrovia Review: Thoughts
Chocolate is something I take very seriously, and there’s something about a comforting cup of thick hot chocolate I particularly enjoy when the weather gets cold and I’m still walking around and finding new hidden gems in town.
I do like a respectable ratio of cocoa to sugar in chocolate-based desserts and hot drinks, which is what I found at Italian Bear Chocolate.
The thickness of the hot chocolate served in the Fitzrovia coffee shop is such that you actually need the spoon to drink/eat it; I personally had trouble finishing it, what with all the chocolate goodies we ordered.

When it comes to the delicious chocolate cake, it offered all the moisture combined with sugar I needed that day.
Once again, I didn’t finish it, as I am not used to eating so much sugar anymore, but I felt it complimented the small cup of hot chocolate nicely.
And while chocolate-covered strawberries is something that can easily be prepared at home, the small plate of fruit definitely belonged on the table to bring some freshness to the snack.

Italian Bear Chocolate Fitzrovia, London’s Best Hot Chocolate
I’ve already told you about Italian Bear Chocolate time and time again, as its niche concept is perfectly executed, but it’s also a really beautiful rustic coffee shop.
Even if hot chocolate is a treat best enjoyed during winter in London, the fact that the menu is about more than chocolate means it’s a great food spot to visit all year round.
In terms of pricing, expect to pay somewhere around 12 pounds for a cup of hot chocolate and a pastry including service; a very reasonable price for a moment eating in Central London.
Also, given that the whole menu is alcohol-free and gelatin-free, it’s a perfect food spot for whoever is after a new type halal cafe in London!
