I’ve told you some time ago about some of the cheapest pizza spots in London, but ever since I moved to Italy, I’ve taken the quality of the dough, the textures and the flavors very seriously.
So today, I thought I’d tell you about all the spots to find the best Neapolitan pizza in Central London.
Let’s face it; if you’re traveling to London for the first time, you probably won’t stray very far from Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden and London Bridge.
That’s a shame, because there are some amazing things to do in Canary Wharf, London’s financial district.
Or places like Brick Lane and Shoreditch, also in East London.
However, you’ll find some of the best hidden gems in Covent Garden include Neapolitan pizza restaurants – with sourdough pizza too! – and other takeaway places. These are all my favorites.
Neapolitan Pizza in Central London: 7 Must-Visit Spots
Whether you’re looking for cheap restaurants in Soho or the very best sourdough pizza in Covent Garden, I’ve got you covered.
In case you’re wandering around London Bridge, just know you can also find amazing Neapolitan pizza in London Bridge, in a few spots like ‘O Ver Borough or Franco Manca.
Pizza napoletana is one of my favorite Italian street foods ever, something that always leaves me feeling satisfied with life.
Like the zeppola, another Neapolitan specialty, and probably the best pastry in Italy overall.
If you’re the same and looking for the best pizza in Central London, keep reading and you’ll more than likely find your new favorite Italian restaurant in this guide!
Best Neapolitan Pizza in Central London: Pizza Pilgrims, Covent Garden
Pizza Pilgrims Covent Garden, on Garrick Street, is located in the very area where you’ll find most of Covent Garden’s cheap eats.
For instance, you have nearby Old Chang Kee, Tesco’s meal deals, stunning cinnamon buns from Buns from Home, and other great cafes and bakeries.
And well, one thing to note is that Pizza Pilgrims is one of the only Neapolitan pizza spots that offer halal pizza in Central London.
Open from lunch until 10.30 pm almost every day of the week, Pizza Pilgrims is the restaurant you’ll want to pop by for the most delicious Margherita pizza of your life.
Their white truffle crust dipper is a lifechanger, and one I highly recommend you order to help you finish your pizza.

Best Neapolitan Pizza in Central London: Rossopomodoro, Covent Garden
Now that I am living in Rome, I can pop by Rossopomodoro on Largo di Torre Argentina as often as I’d like, as it’s a pretty reliable food spot.
However, at a time when I was looking for Neapolitan pizza in London, I did not know Rossopomodoro had several branches in town.
Boy, was I happy when I came across the one in Covent Garden, close to Neal’s Yard and Seven Dials Market!
Just so you know, Rossopomodoro is located on Monmouth Street, which is nothing but one of the prettiest streets in London, filled with small shops and beautiful brick walls.
Crocchè di patate, one of the best Neapolitan street foods, which are little balls of fried potato (with or without mozzarella) are available at Rossopomodoro, as are the fresh and green friarielli, tiny fried broccoli.
It’s not exactly cheap pizza you’ll find at Rossopomodoro, but you could make it work for under £20 per head, therefore, still one of the best cheap eats in Central London.

Best Neapolitan Pizza in Central London: Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana, Soho
For well under £10, you can get at Rudy’s Soho one of the most delicious Neapolitan-style Margherita pizze you’ll ever eat in your life.
Not only that, but if you’re looking to have a romantic date in London and are tight on eating out budget, you’ll find the place is lively, warm, and welcoming.
Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana is a UK-based pizzeria chain born in Manchester, and again, the crust dips are out of this world.
The garlic aioli dipper is a classic, but at Rudy’s Soho, I’d also recommend the mascarpone and parmesan dip – so very yummy to help finish their huge pizza!
However, if you’re very hungry, the Caprese salad and the Burrata are always my go-tos in any Italian restaurant in London (if there’s no carpaccio available!).

Best Neapolitan Pizza in Central London: Franco Manca, Soho
I have eaten at many different Franco Manca locations in London, from Bishopsgate to Kilburn High Road and Muswell Hill.
Well, my favorite Franco Manca restaurant in London is the one in Soho, on Berwick St, which is actually not that far from really cute bakeries like Cafe de Nata.
Cafe de Nata is always a go-to for a sweet pick-me-up, since it’s really affordable and makes some of the best pastel de nata in London.
Franco Manca is renowned for their incredible sourdough Neapolitan pizza, and while the prices have slightly increased over the years, it’s still one of the cheapest spots for pizza in Central London.
The Soho branch opens from 12 pm to 10 pm during weekdays, and a bit later on Fridays and Saturdays.
You can easily just walk in, but Franco Manca can get pretty busy so make sure you come at a strategic time!

Best Neapolitan Pizza in Central London: 50 Kalo di Ciro Salvo
50 Kalo di Ciro Salvo, affectionately and quickly called 50 Kalo, is a top Neapolitan pizza spot located a stone’s throw away from the National Gallery and Trafalgar Square.
I’ve always loved the area because of Waterstones, the coolest bookshop cafe around, and the fact that a huge Superdrug shop is located nearby on The Strand.
Well, whether you want to have a romantic date or a laidback dinner with friends, 50 Kalo will cater to your Italian food needs.
I’ve only ever eaten the Margherita pizza with mozzarella di buffala, and that’s all you really need.
The place is lively, huge, and does feel like an Italian oasis right in Central London.
At quite affordable prices, especially considering that Northumberland Avenue is one of the poshest areas in London!

Best Neapolitan Pizza in Central London: Spizza, London Bridge
Up until a few months ago, I thought that Southbank and London Bridge were not part of Central London, and in fact, they are.
So I thought I’d include another one of the best spots for Neapolitan pizza in London around London Bridge, with Spizza.
Spizza is different from Pizza Pilgrims or Rossopomodoro in that it’s a takeaway restaurant – and it’s worth every single penny.
The restaurant is open from lunch to 11 pm on weekdays, with shorter opening times on Fridays and Saturdays – closed on Sundays.
Why visit Spizza? Just for the fact that’s it’s purely authentic Neapolitan pizza in Central London, and that’s not easy to find.
That’s the only reason we’ll ever need.

Best Neapolitan Pizza in Central London: Zia Lucia, Aldgate East
Some time ago, I told you all about Zia Lucia at Boxpark Wembley, and did dub it the best Neapolitan pizza in London.
While Zia Lucia does not have any branch right in Central London at the moment, their Aldgate East restaurant is located just two steps away from Liverpool Street St.
An important station, too, since there are amazing shops and study cafes at Liverpool Street, as well as Eataly.
If you’ve never been to Eataly, just know it’s the top Italian food shop in London, and will cater to your every need from Lurisia limonata to fresh foccaccie.
Zia Lucia clearly does not offer the cheapest Neapolitan pizza in Central London, with a Margherita costing just a little over £10.
However, if you want that typical taste of bubbly dough and the freshest mozzarella around, that’s definitely the it-spot for pizza lovers.
