A local’s guide to visiting Chalcot Square in Primrose Hill, North London – close to a Paddington movie location, and a secret colorful area perfect for photos!

I can’t remember exactly when I first went to visit Chalcot Square, in North London’s Primrose Hill – but I remember I’d read online it was one of the most colorful places in the city.

Of course, me being me, a lover of multicolor places and beautiful buildings, I really wanted to see it for myself.

One of the poshest areas of London along with Chelsea, Mayfair, Knightsbridge and other Westminster, Chalcot Square boasts a soothing, yet ultra-bright vibe.

Should you be interested in new hidden gems, after visiting places like Portobello Road and Lancaster Road in Notting Hill, or Camden’s Bonny Street, Chalcot Square is a must on your bucket list!

What is the closest station to Chalcot Square Primrose Hill?

The closest Tube station to Chalcot Square is Chalk Farm, not too far from Camden Town.

It’s even more in North London than Camden Town, though, where areas start to become more residential, with less things to do other than sightseeing.

Why is Chalcot Square Primrose Hill famous?

Chalcot Square is actually a garden, and other than the very colorful houses you’ll find all around it, it’s actually famous because it is home to celebrities.

Primrose Hill used to be home, for instance, to Kate Moss and Daniel Craig.

The area was also featured in several movies like Paddington and Bridget Jones’ Diary – some really famous British movies in which you can spot the colorful houses.

Not too far from Chalcot Square Primrose Hill, you have plenty of other cute streets to check out.

There are more famous colorful streets in London around Notting Hill and Chelsea, but that’s a spot you really can’t miss.

There’s a bit of walk from Chalk Farm station, but you could legit start sightseeing here in the morning, when Chalcot Square is still asleep.
