Autumn in London is one of the best times of the year, what with all the shops on Oxford Street filling up with new, cozy collections and Starbucks releasing their famous autumn drinks.
Whether you’re a tourist or a local, it’s always cool to find new, free things to do in London.
Especially when you live in London on a budget.
And one of them, during the fall, is to find all the pretty mews and cute neighborhoods to see autumn foliage!
It’s true there are lots of cute villages around London to enjoy beautiful, burnt orange colors, but you can also see them – for free – in London.
So why not put on your warm boots, pack your camera and head on over to these cool photo spots?
And if it ever starts raining, there are lots of cool things to do in London when it rains, from secret museums and art galleries to instagrammable cafes!
Where to See Autumn Colors in London: Regent’s Park
Regent’s Park hosts one of the most secret gardens in London, a cute, tiny little Japanese Garden, as well as a perfectly curated English garden.
Whoever is looking for places to see nature in London and really break away from the city for a bit should pop by Regent’s Park.
The park was originally requested by the Prince Regent, who would go on to become King George IV.
One of the best things to do in Regent’s Park is visiting the London Zoo, which is one of the most famous Harry Potter locations in London.
Overall, the park is an exquisite combination of natural beauty and tranquility, and incredible when it comes to finding autumn colors in London.

Where to See Autumn Colors in London: Oxford Street
One of the best things to do in London is usually to venture on a shopping spree, and honestly, what better time to do it, if not in autumn?
I absolutely love the sweater weather.
Even if you’re not into spending extra coins on clothes, my suggestion is to walk into Flying Tiger on Oxford Street, getting a snack, and wandering around Oxford Street.
There are lots of cool things to do in Oxford Street that do not necessarily involve shopping, but if you wish to, one of London’s biggest TK Maxx shops is located there.
That’s where I have bought most of my exquisite DW Home candles, and there are lots of amazing autumn scents to try for a really low price.
The small parks around Oxford Street and the trees on the street dressing in brown and orange are enough to make you feel like cozying up at home!

Where to See Autumn Colors in London: Warner Bros. Studios in London
One of the best Harry Potter things to do in London, yes, of course: visiting the Warner Bros studios – in autumn, it’s extra special!
If you’re a Potterhead (or just someone really into the saga), then you will love to hear that the Warner Bros. Studios team in London decorates the set according to the season.
Most of us grew up watching the Harry Potter movies, and some real, die-hard Potterheads might even own a couple of Charmed Aroma candles.
At the Warner Bros Studios, you will see beautifully detailed props such as costumes and artifacts used in the films, divided into categories and special rooms.
During the tour, you will find various incredible Harry Potter shops in which you’ll be able to eat, drink, buy props and books.
The Leavesden studios is definitely one of the best places to visit in London in autumn, and the perfect date spot, too!

Where to See Autumn Colors in London: Hyde Park
Talking about finding some free things to do in London – have you ever ventured in Hyde Park when it’s autumn in London?
I can say it’s magical.
Hyde Park also offers one of the best things to do in London during Christmas, the famous Winter Wonderland themed park.
Overall, Hyde Park is a combination of cultural events, historical significance and natural beauty, and whether you’re a local or a tourist, you’ll love this place.
It’s also a top spot to go rollerskating in London, if you’re into that – back when I used to skate, I would often go train there.
For couples looking for romantic spots to see autumn colors in London, it doesn’t get better than Hyde Park!

Where to See Autumn Colors in London: Bridge Arch Photo
Whilst this one may sound like nothing new, it is indeed magical and a way to see London through the eyes of a tourist one again.
Cross the beautiful Westminster Bridge and explore various angles at the famous Bridge Arch Photo viewpoint.
It’s a favorite of many couples for proposals, and while there are lots of people taking pictures there, it’s also a top spot to see autumn colors in London.
Taking pictures is one of the coolest things to do in London at night, in my opinion, and if you manage to capture the ethereal vibes of Big Ben, that will have been a good evening!

Things to do in Autumn in London: Afternoon Tea
Straying a little bit from places to see autumn colors in London, but why come to London and not have at least one afternoon tea experience?
That should be a crime!
It’s really the entire process of the boujee experience that makes it worth trying, and if you visit places like The Beaumont, The Ritz, or Oblix at The Shard, you’ll be able to enjoy views of London in the fall.
There are also lots of themed afternoon teas in London, and one of my favorites is the Harry Potter afternoon tea at Cutter and Squidge, in Soho.
One of the coolest things to do in Soho, by the way – a neighborhood you definitely have to visit at least once!

Where to See Autumn Colors in London: Camden Town
Camden Market, Camden Lock and Camden Town – all make up one of the trendiest neighborhoods in London.
The markets are amazing and whether you’re looking for cool charity shops or street food, you’ll find everything you need there.
Some of the best budget shops in London are located in Camden; Poundland, Savers, and TK Maxx allow Londoners on a budget to be able to shop and actually enjoy their shopping.
The area often features live entertainment, live music and artistic displays to go with the vibrant atmosphere – it’s a must visit, especially when it comes to street art in Camden, too!

Where to See Autumn Colors in London: St Dunstan in the East
One of the best things to do in autumn in London is to visit the famous ruins of St Dunstan in the East.
This historic place is one of the most beautiful churches in London, and was originally built in the 12th century.
The church had several modifications and additions over the centuries, and the structure we know today dates back to the 17th century.
Unfortunately, this Gothic architecture beauty got severely damaged in the Great Fire of London, in 1666, and during WWII.
The ruins were repurposed into a public garden in the 20th century, and until today, this place blooms with its greenery background that mixes fauna and flora with the ruins of a stunning Gothic church.
This is one of the most instagrammable places in London and happens to be a picturesque garden adored by many photographers!

Where to See Autumn Colors in London: The London Eye & Southbank
There are some amazing places to study in Southbank, and during the fall, they are places you’ll want to cozy up in.
All around London Bridge, Southbank and the London Eye are some of the most amazing places to see autumn colors in London.
You also have lots of cheap eats and street food in that area, and can enjoy the skyline from the Shard to St Paul’s Cathedral.
And actually, another one of the best hidden gems in London is located really close: the Reflection Garden.
It’s another really perfect photo spot with a secret pond and beautiful autumn foliage, as well as a free rooftop, One New Change, located a couple of minutes away on foot.

Where to See Autumn Colors in London: St. James Park
St. James’s Park is one of the most important historic royal parks in London.
It is located in the heart of the city and offers a peaceful setting if you’re ever looking for cool places to write in London.
One of London’s best hidden gems, Duck Cottage Island, is built inside the park, and is a really cute sight, especially if you’re looking for date ideas.
The park’s history dates back to the 17th century and was originally created as a royal hunting ground.
It is notably famous for its diverse wildlife, from pelicans to squirrels and pigeons.
One of the best viewpoints of this park is the famous blue bridge, which offers some stunning panoramic views over the park, with the London Eye at a distance.
It’s also one of the best places to see autumn colors in London, around September to November, when all the leaves turn a bright burnt orange shade.
