I love chocolate scented candles, probably just as much as coffee candles, to be honest. At some point in my life, I used to have the Yankee Candle Chocolate Eggs burning all day long, around the same time I got Seaside Woods, one of the best ocean candles of all time.
Little by little, I’m writing guides to all the best scented candles, and today, we’re going to be talking about all the best chocolate scented candles; from white chocolate to mint chocolate, hot cocoa, chocolate orange, and chocolate chip cookie candles.
It’s the real deal, and I’ve been working on a complete guide to chocolate candle scents for quite some time and wanted it to be absolutely perfect. I try to put so much effort into each of the candle guides you can find on The Working Line, but if we’re talking about chocolate candles, of course, I’m going to be even more excited.
This is the second of my guides to ‘beverage’ slash cake scented candles; but I have written some other guides you’re going to want to check out as well, with the best coffee scented candles, and the reviews of the DW Home Cereal Milk and Fresh Brew candles – especially if you’re a candle addict as I am.
Today, it’s all about the best chocolate scented candles, and from cookie candles to hot chocolate candle scents, you’ll find it all here. If you’d like to discover other amazing candle brands, check out these posts:

15 Best Chocolate Scented Candles From Cookies to Hot Cocoa
In this guide, you will find some of the most famous chocolate scented candles like the Yankee Candle Chocolate Eggs candle to the Hot Cocoa and Cream candle by Bath and Body Works – one of the best Bath and Body Works Christmas candles in my opinion. But, as usual, I want to leave the space for smaller, independent vegan candle brands to express themselves.
That is why you’ll also find the likes of Fernweh Editions, Goose Creek, and Lily Flames chocolate candles in this guide. All is made so you can find your favorite scents, from peppermint hot chocolate to hot chocolate and cookie candles!
Best Chocolate Scented Candles: Yankee Candle Chocolate Eggs
Rich and creamy chocolate eggs with vanilla-scented candy shells — a purely decadent Easter treat.
The Yankee Candle Chocolate Eggs candle was my first ever chocolate scented candle, and I have to admit to burning it to the core. I love it so much that it’s almost insane, and the mix of chocolate scent in the Chocolate Eggs candle is filled with greed and delish.
This is one of the best Yankee Candle scents in my opinion and was released for Easter, only to be then sold all year round. If you’re after a perfect hot chocolate candle, then you can hardly do better than the Yankee Candle Chocolate Eggs candle.
In the fragrance blend, you’ve got Chocolate mousse pudding, vanilla extract, cocoa, and to balance it all, fruity cranberry. If you’re looking for the best chocolate scented candles, this is definitely one to go for. I should warn you that I’ve felt hungry more times than I can count when burning the Chocolate Eggs candle.

Best Chocolate Scented Candles: DW Home Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Creamy milk chocolate drizzled over gently crushed cocoa bean and delectable cacao essence wrapped in smooth white chocolate undertones and the frosted joy of sweet peppermint.
Now, The DW Home Peppermint Hot Chocolate candle ($18 for 11.2 oz) is going to be perfect for chocolate and mint lovers. I’m a huge DW Home candles fan and have written quite a few reviews and guides about the American brand, which has on offer over 1.000 candle scents on its website.
Since I love finding the best TK Maxx candles, I usually visit the nearby TK Maxx stores in London to see if new DW Home candles have been added – along with the amazing Sand and Fog candles, which are some of the best if you’re a kind of minimalist person.
Recently, I found the Peppermint Hot Chocolate candle, which is perfect if you love mint chocolate candles.
That is usually not a scent I’d go for at all, but as with all the DW Home coffee scented candles and the Cup of Joe collection which hosts a few chocolate candles as well, the smell is utterly delicious.

Best Chocolate Candles: Wickford and Co White Chocolate Candle
Wickford and Co candles are some of my favorites, and since they’re sold in the Home Bargains candle aisles, which are all super cheap and exquisite, it made sense I’d mention the Wickford and Co White Chocolate candle in this guide.
At less than £4 for a large 450g candle, you’ve got in the Wickford and Co White Chocolate candle one of the best chocolate scented candles of this entire guide.
I do know that fellow Americans and Europeans don’t have access to the Home Bargains candles, so if you’re ever coming to the UK, make sure to pass by the store to get some Wickford and Co chocolate candles.
In addition to the White Chocolate scent, Wickford and Co has a few other chocolate scented candles, which include Salted Caramel Chocolate, Chocolate Orange, and my favorite, the Milk Chocolate candle.

Best Chocolate Scented Candles: Lily Flame Chocolate Truffle
I mentioned Lily Flame in another guide to the best coffee candle scents, and we’re back at it again with the Chocolate Truffle candle. The small British candle brand only offers vegan candles, priced very reasonably at £9.95 for 230 g and an approximate burn time of 35 hours.
If you’re looking for really sweet chocolate scented candles, the fragrances of milk chocolate, vanilla, milk accord, and cocoa beans make the Lily Flame Chocolate Truffle one of the best of its kind. The fact that it’s crafted and located in Somerset, in the United Kingdom makes me love the Lily Flame brand evermore.
Although overseas, Lily Flame might still be an underdog, it is Britain’s favorite candle maker, and the chocolate candle they have on offer is exquisitely delish.

Best Chocolate Candle: Hotel Chocolat Cacao & Vanilla Candle
Who doesn’t love Hotel Chocolat? The brand is famous worldwide for being one of the best British chocolate brands, and well, the Cacao & Vanilla candle is their stunning take on chocolate scented candles.
Priced at £28 for 220g, the Hotel Chocolat candle blends dark cacao and vanilla with cedarwood, musk, and amber, giving it a unique depth.
Usually, when we talk about chocolate candles, we think of birthday cakes, the Yankee Candle Chocolate Eggs candle, and other hot cocoa candles. Not to mix musk and cedarwood with dark cocoa. The inspiration comes from the Saint Lucia tropical rainforest, where Hotel Chocolat grows its cacao plants.
You’ve got here a perfect Christmas candle if you’re looking to treat yourself or a close one, and the chocolate candle scent from the Hotel Chocolat Cacao & Vanilla candle is nothing if not intoxicating.

Best Chocolate Scented Candles: Goose Greek Yummy Chocolate Chips
Goose Creek is probably one of America’s favorite independent candle brands. Since 1998, the family-run company has been creating astonishing scented candles from Kentucky, and well, if you’re looking for amazing chocolate scented candles, you’re going to need to look at the Yummy Chocolate Chips candle.
Goose Creek has drawn inspiration from chocolate chip cookie cereal that we’ve all eaten at least once in our life and diffused the sweet, childish notes into a 3-wick candle that retails for £21.99 for 14.5 oz.
In the fragrance blend, you’ll recognize notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, and vanilla, along with cookie pieces, powdered sugar, and sugared cereal notes. This is probably one of the most decently-priced chocolate candles, and the packaging makes it even more of a chocolate dream for candle collectors.

Best Hot Chocolate Candle: Bath and Body Works Hot Cocoa & Cream
Who doesn’t know the Bath and Body Works Hot Cocoa and Cream candle? You’ve been missing out; this is one of the best chocolate scented candles I can think of right now. I’ve loved Bath and Body Works candles for years, about 10 years, actually.
And for a decadent chocolate candle scent, it’s hard to do better than the Hot Cocoa and Cream candle.
We’ve got in this 3-wick candle fragrances of marshmallow, milk chocolate, and foamed milk which makes for one of the most luxurious milk chocolate candles you could think of.
That’s where what I said before about fellow North Americans being uber-lucky; in the UK and continental Europe, you have to order the Bath and Body Works candles online from websites like Notino.
It’s not the same deal as actually going in-store, like when you can visit UK shops for cheap Yankee Candles, but hey, at least you’ve got the possibility of getting your hands on one of the best chocolate scented candles in the whole world.

Best Chocolate Scented Candles: Kringle Candle Hot Chocolate Candle
Now, if you’re after a hot cocoa candle, I’ve got the perfect one for you; the Hot Chocolate candle by Kringle Candle. Priced at £27 for 624 g, the Kringle Candles are actually a tad cheaper than Yankee Candle, and that hot chocolate candle scent is intoxicating beyond words.
That’s going to be one of the most classic chocolate scented candles, especially if you’re looking for a true hot chocolate candle.
I have always loved the look of the Kringle Candle brand, with wax melts packagings being utterly cute, and the pictures on the candles really enticing.
With the Hot Chocolate candle, we’ve got notes of whipped cream, sugar, cocoa butter, milk, vanilla, and hot chocolate which all blend to give a really heartwarming scent in the end.

Best Chocolate Scented Candles: Goose Creek Homemade Brownies
A treat you cant resist. A gooey batch of homemade brownies covered in molten chocolate just out of the oven.
For something a little bit different, you’ve got the Goose Creek Homemade Brownies candle, which takes a bit of chocolate and a bit of cake scent to create one of the most enticing chocolate scented candles in this guide.
Priced at £22.99 for 24 oz, the Goose Creek Homemade Brownies candle is one of the cheapest options in this entire guide. You’ve got a burn time of up to 150 hours, and a real, true-to-life brownie chocolate candle with it.
It’s actually the same brand I mentioned above with the Yummy Chocolate Chips candle, and it seems like I’m going to have to have a deeper look at the Goose Creek brand to see what other amazing cake candles they have on offer, for real.

Best Chocolate Scented Candles: DW Home Chocolate Strawberry
Decadent, sun-ripened strawberries combines with irresistible touches of velvety vanilla and smooth swirls of sweet milk chocolate.
I’ve found lots of DW Home candles at TK Maxx whether we’re talking about fall or Christmas candles, and one of them was the Chocolate Strawberry candle. Let me tell you from the get-go that I hate all types of fruit and chocolate mixes, whether we’re talking about chocolate candles or food. That’s just something I don’t do, along with mint chocolate and stuff of the like.
And yet, I have found two amazing DW Home chocolate candles that are really worth your time and budget; the Chocolate Strawberry candle, and the White Chocolate Raspberry candle.
In the Chocolate Strawberry candle, which retails for $16 for 9.3 oz, you’ve got a great mix of milk chocolate, vanilla, and sun-ripened strawberries – luckily, the vanilla gives an extra sweet touch that helps ease the contrast between the fruit and chocolate scent.
The other one, White Chocolate Raspberry, is another one of the favorites that I pick up every time I visit the TK Maxx candle aisles, and I will probably end up getting it one of these days. In the meantime, I always find some other coffee scented candle like Fresh Brew, and never have all the budget to get all 300 candles I wish I could get (and carry home).
Best Chocolate Scented Candles: Fernweh Editions Dark Chocolate Candle
The unmistakable bold, rich smell is sure to delight chocolate lovers. Whether you’re looking for a gift or for a treat for yourself, our Dark Chocolate scented candle captures the essence of rich chocolate indulgence.
Fernweh Editions almost feels like one of the most secret independent candle brands, and based in the USA, it takes a lot of inspiration from its surroundings, cities, and landscapes throughout the world.
You’ve got a few different collections in the Fernweh Editions brand, and while their Dark Chocolate candle is one of the best choices you can ever make when it comes to chocolate scented candles, you might also want to look at their other collections at some point.
In the France Edition, you’ve got the likes of Creme Brulee, Sparkling Champagne, and the stunning Dark Chocolate candle scent. In the London Town edition, though, you’ll find a Tea & Cake candle alongside The Library candle and an intoxicating English Garden scent.
Fernweh Editions doesn’t use dyes, and the soy candles are hand-poured in small batches in the USA, providing us, customers, with the best experience when burning the Fernweh candles. At $45 for 11 oz, the Dark Chocolate candle is one of the priciest chocolate scented candles in this guide, but it is worth every penny.

Best Chocolate Candle: Shea Shea Bakery Milk & Cookies Candle
Shea Shea Bakery namely rose to fame on social media, including Pinterest where I discovered their amazing chocolate candle scents and other bakery and cake candles. Priced at $29.99 for 12 oz and with an approximate burn time of 35 to 40 hours, this is probably one of the priciest options when it comes to chocolate scented candles.
Yes, but – every single Shea Shea Bakery candle (also called Shea Makery) is handmade so carefully that you’re going to think that the Milk & Cookies candle, which I’ve chosen to introduce to you, is actually real.
If you’re a lover of chocolate chip cookie candles, you’re going to love the Shea Shea Bakery Milk and Cookies candle, which takes strong inspiration from both milk and cookies (wow, the name did absolutely not let that show).
The scent is intoxicating and delicious, and that’s probably a great option if you’re looking for chocolate candles that aren’t too heavy on the chocolate.

Best Chocolate Scented Candles: Yankee Candle Chocolate Layer Cake
The scrumptious layering of cocoa and chocolate mousse is pure decadence.
The Yankee Candle Chocolate Layer Cake candle is another one of the most famous chocolate scented candles, and since it’s available in various sizes, from the huge Signature jar to smaller jars, you can literally choose how often you’re going to want to light it up.
And I understand; when it comes to chocolate candle scents, it can be hard to light them up all the time, just because you can get super hungry quite fast.
But if you’re down to risk it, the Chocolate Layer Cake candle is one of the most delicious chocolate cake candles, with a mix of cocoa, fruity cranberry, vanilla, and chocolate mousse pudding.
You’ve actually roughly got the same fragrance notes as the Chocolate Eggs candle, but the Chocolate Layer Cake candle puts a stronger focus on chocolate and cocoa.
Best Chocolate Scented Candles: HomeWorx Chocolate Birthday Cake Candle
Celebrate your special day with a giant slice of darkened milk chocolate cake covered in layers of delicious frosting of espresso powder, warm vanilla and whipped cream.
HomeWorx is probably one of the most famous American candle brands at the moment, and how could it not be, with Harry Slatkin in command? HomeWorx is actually one of the youngest candle brands in this guide, born in 2017.
Harry Slatkin, the King of home fragrance as described by the New York Times, has helped several home fragrance brands rise to fame before creating HomeWorx. For instance, if you’re buying Bath and Body Works candles, know that Harry Slatkin was behind them.
But we’re straying – one of the best chocolate scented candles, unsurprisingly, is the Chocolate Birthday Cake candle by HomeWorx.
You’ve got a heavy 18 oz candle with four wicks ($30) which boasts rich notes of darkened milk chocolate, whipped cream, warm vanilla, and a touch of espresso powder. Not a coffee candle, not a cake candle, but a bit of everything mixed into a stunning chocolate candle.

Best Chocolate Scented Candles: Good Spirits Chocolate Cake Candle
Good Spirits Candle Co is one of the lesser-known scented candle brands in this guide, and I felt it was a nice opportunity to talk about them and their stunning Chocolate Cake candle. Good Spirits Candle Co is actually not that old of a company, and what they specialize in are actually cocktail candles, from brandy to Margaritas and even mocktail recipes.
Good Spirits Candle Co, thus, is one of the most interesting brands if you’re looking for a different chocolate scented candle, especially since they have quite a few chocolate candles on offer. I’ve chosen to tell you about their Chocolate Cake candle, which features creamy vanilla, chocolate-covered hazelnuts with a hint of lemon.
The 20 oz candle tin (with 14 oz of wax) retails for $21.95, for an approximate burn time of 85 to 110 hours, pretty impressive considering this is a completely independent candle brand. And if you’d like to discover other chocolate scented candles from Good Spirits Candle Co, take a look at Campfire Cocoa and Brandy Alexander, which both contains rich notes of chocolate.
