Oh, how I couldn’t wait to write all about the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes! If you’ve been here before, you’ve probably seen many of my guides to the best red eyeshadow palettes, mauve eyeshadow palettes and more.

Yet, one thing I’ve always lived for are super colorful eyeshadow palettes. They’re just a dream for a color-hungry makeup artist, aren’t they?

While I have clearly not done makeup on photoshoots for a few years now, rainbow and multicolor eyeshadow palettes are still something I love to purchase.

Actually, I already wrote a few reviews here and there, notably of the Beauty Bay Bright Matte 42 palette some time ago, and you’ll see that one at the end of this guide.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Makeup Revolution x Tammi Tropical Carnival

I remember getting the Tropical Carnival palette that Makeup Revolution released in collaboration with influencer Tammi a few years ago.

Actually, for some time, it was one of the only rainbow eyeshadow palettes I would take with me on photoshoots.

One might think that the palette is unbalanced between all the matte eyeshadows and the few metallic eyeshadows, right?

Yet, even if I used to think that way, I came to understand that the ultra metallic eyeshadows were actually following a well-thought out color story.

A few of the matte eyeshadows in the Makeup Revolution Tropical Carnival palette are also perfect to use as blushes, too.

All in all, it’s one of the cheapest and best colorful eyeshadow palettes still available today.

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Revolution Pro x Influencer Overnight

I feel like I’ve given more attention to the XX Revolution and I Heart Revolution brands than I have to Revolution Pro.

Yet, if you take a look at their new rainbow eyeshadow palettes, it might very well become one of your new favorite British makeup brands.

The Revolution Pro x Influencer Overnight range has two palettes, one super colorful palette, and one really nude – the Book 1 palette is the rainbow one.

If you’re the type of person who lives for ultra metallic eyeshadow palettes, you’re going to love this one.

Plenty of metallic, almost chrome eyeshadows in the Influencer Overnight palette, as well as lots of buttery mattes and some huge pans that allow for all the creativity in the world.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: BH Cosmetics Trendy in Tokyo Palette

I talked about the BH Cosmetics Trendy in Tokyo palette in my guide to the best pastel eyeshadow palettes, and indeed, no other BH Cosmetics palette resemble this one.

It retails for a little over $15, and the eyeshadows in the Trendy in Tokyo palette are oh-so-colorful.

From neon pink to bright orange, yellow and green, you have everything you might be looking for in a rainbow eyeshadow palette.

I’ve talked here plenty of times about the many of the best BH Cosmetics palettes, like the Passion in Paris palette, which is one of the best red blue palettes I’ve ever seen.

Well, the Trendy in Tokyo palette is part of the same range, with super creamy matte eyeshadows and stunning metallics.

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Melt Cosmetics Amor y Mariposas

Now, another one of my favorite makeup brands, Melt Cosmetics.

The brand is famous for the pigmentation and well-crafted palettes, but usually, the color stories are more muted (like the Gemini palette or the Smoke Sessions palette).

If you’re looking for the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes but don’t want to go all out like with the Trendy in Tokyo palette, Melt Cosmetics has released the Amor y Mariposas palette.

The Amor y Mariposas palette is filled with ultra buttery mattes and hyper metallic eyeshadows, but it;s the color story you’ll love.

It actually follows the ‘muted’ scheme that Melt Cosmetics has put in place, and what we have here is actually a darker kind of colorful eyeshadow palette.

Perfect to create either rainbow looks, or colorful smokey eye looks!

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Unicorn Cosmetics Angel Palette

Again, another pastel eyeshadow palette I’ve talked about before – the Unicorn Cosmetics Angel palette, which is filled with colorful eyeshadows, from pastel to ultra bright shades.

A few years ago, it would have been very difficult to get our hands on the Unicorn Cosmetics products, since they were pretty much only available in the UK, if my memory serves me right.

Now, you can easily get the Angel palette on Beauty Bay and similar websites.

The fact that some of the shades in this beautiful rainbow eyeshadow palette are split is actually really helpful to craft interesting looks, and I would probably use that kind of palette on myself for spring, summer and winter mostly.

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Viseart Bijouxette Etendu Palette

To be honest, I’ve had this guide about the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes in the works for months now, but really wanted it to be fully ready before I shared it.

I didn’t want to forget about any really special, colorful makeup palette, you see.

I’ve written about Viseart eyeshadow palettes a handful of times here, from pink eyeshadows to orange eyeshadows, but I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned the Bijouxette Etendu palette.

Viseart is a French makeup brand, and one of the best at that, especially for true makeup enthusiasts and makeup artists.

All the Viseart palettes are incredible, but if you’re looking for a different kind of rainbow eyeshadow palette, the darker color story, almost Marie Antoinette-reminiscing, is unreal.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Makeup Revolution Maxi Reloaded Big Shot

I used to have three Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palettes that follow the huge size of the Big Shot palette, and one in particular, the Monster Mattes palette, used to always be in my makeup artist kit.

The Makeup Revolution Big Shot palette, though, is another one of the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes in my opinion.

Why?

Simply because it’s affordable and really offers plenty of wearable colors in addition to blue, orange, pink, and green eyeshadows.

What’s beyond interesting in the Big Shot palette, too, is that you have a mix of colorful matte eyeshadows and really shimmery, almost metallic eyeshadows in there.

I found it plenty of times in various makeup stores in London, from Boots to Superdrug.

Anyway, even if you don’t find it in such stores, the Big Shot palette is still available from Revolution Beauty, and one of the best colorful eyeshadow palettes you’ve ever seen at such a low price.

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Juvia’s Place Culture Palette

I am still to write my Juvia’s Place Culture palette review, but in the meantime, just know this is one of the most incredible rainbow eyeshadow palettes ever created.

As time goes by, the Black-owned brand really steps up its game; each Juvia’s Place palette keeps on giving.

In the Culture palette, especially, you don’t only have the beautiful colorful metallic eyeshadows and buttery mattes we’re used to have from Juvia’s Place.

No, in addition to those, the Juvia’s Place palette actually also hosts a good couple of duochrome eyeshadows – and if you’ve been here before, then you know that I literally live for duochrome and multichrome eyeshadows.

Really one of the most beautiful colorful eyeshadow palettes we have available for purchase these days, with a really vibrant, bold color story and unforgettable metallic eyeshadows.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Colourpop Fade into Hue Palette

I’ve written my complete review of seven of the most famous Colourpop eyeshadow palettes a few days ago.

While I’ve never had the Fade Into Hue palette, there’s clearly no doubt that this is one of the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes ever released.

The Fade Into Hue palette might be pricier than most of the Colourpop palettes, since it retails for $35, but look at those swatches!

From blue eyeshadows to bright yellows, from stunning reds to greens and bright pink eyeshadows, you’ve got everything you might be looking for from an ultra colorful eyeshadow palette here.

A beautiful formula, delicious metallic eyeshadows, ultra creamy matte eyeshadows, and all the boldness anyone might need in their life.

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Juvia’s Place Garden of Juvia’s Palette

The Juvia’s Place Garden of Juvia’s palette was released some time in 2022, if I’m not mistaken, and while Juvia’s Place already had plenty of rainbow eyeshadow palettes in its range, they didn’t have a pastel palette.

The Garden of Juvia’s palette retails for $25, which makes it super affordable when you see how pigmented the eyeshadows are.

It’s literally inspired by the colors of a garden, so if you’re ever looking for eyeshadow palettes for spring and summer, this is it.

One might be wondering how this pastel rainbow eyeshadow palette would be working on black skin tones, right?

Well, since Juvia’s Place is literally a Black-owned brand, you’re sure that the formula has been put together both for really fair skin tones and super dark skin too.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Playing in Makeup by Yolondo Refresh Jamrock Rebirth Palette

Playing in Makeup by Yolondo is one of the lesser-known makeup brands in this guide, and yet, I’ll be sharing two of their rainbow eyeshadow palettes here that are really worth knowing.

Playing in Makeup by Yolondo is one of the newest indie makeup brands on the market, and they’ve got plenty of beautiful, super colorful eyeshadow palettes, among which the Refresh Jamrock Rebirth palette.

What makes this brand different is the fact that, like Juvia’s Place, it’s a Black-owned business.

I have often tended to go for Black-owned makeup brands as a makeup artist, simply because it’s easier to have an ultra-pigmented eyeshadow made for dark skin also show up on fair skin than the contrary.

The Refresh Jamrock Rebirth palette, in particular, is one of the most interesting colorful eyeshadow palettes because it offers a really cool toned color story.

It retails for about $40, and inside, you have 24 ultra buttery rainbow eyeshadows which include mattes, metallics, and duochrome eyeshadows too – the best of all worlds!

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Corazona Alma Eyeshadow Palette

Corazona is a brand I actually didn’t know about until a few months ago, when I was browsing the virtual racks of Maquibeauty, and this Spanish makeup brand is actually super, super interesting.

I used some Spanish makeup products before from the brand Marlene Grace, which doesn’t exist anymore.

That’s what led me to be interested in makeup from this country – to be honest, I’ve always been interested in small, indie makeup brands.

And if you’re looking for the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes, you need to be looking at the Corazona Alma palette.

It was created in collaboration with influencer Alma, from Un Cafe con Alma, and boy, is it one of the most beautiful colorful palettes I’ve ever seen! Completely vegan and cruelty-free, too.

Plenty of colorful metallic eyeshadows in this one, as well as duochrome eyeshadows, but it’s really the super creamy mattes you’ll need to look at.

It’s really interesting to see how different the colorful matte eyeshadows are in the Corazona Alma palette than other more mainstream palettes like the Beauty Bay Bright Matte palette.

Indeed, you’ve got some more unusual shades, like plum, berry, and teal eyeshadows whose pigmentation is otherworldly and would also be perfect if you’re ever looking for palettes for fall and wintertime.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Playing in Makeup by Yolondo Vigorously Palette

The second Playing in Makeup by Yolondo palette I’ll mention here is the Vigorously palette ($50), which is actually one of the brand’s bestsellers, and with good reason; look at all those colorful chrome eyeshadows!

I’m in love with shiny makeup products, from lipgloss to ultra metallic and chrome eyeshadows, and the latter is actually not that easy to find.

As I said at the beginning of this guide, people usually tend to go for nude eyeshadow palettes on a daily basis, and it feels like chrome eyeshadow and rainbow eyeshadow palettes are left for influencers and makeup artists.

How sad, isn’t it?

The Playing in Makeup by Yolondo Vigorously palette features 36 ultra pigmented and ultra colorful eyeshadows, and that’s clearly a color story you won’t have anywhere else in your stash.

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Natasha Denona Circo Loco Palette

I could not wait to write about the Natasha Denona Circo Loco palette; I’ve had it in the back of my mind for months now!

While this is one of the priciest rainbow eyeshadow palettes in this guide, it’s also one of the most versatile: you can definitely use it whether it’s summer, evening, or winter.

The color story of the Circo Loco palette is unlike any you’ve ever seen before, and you do have all the necessary neutral eyeshadows for everyday looks, as well as really metallic, really out-there eyeshadows too.

I debated including the Natasha Denona Zendo palette in there as well, but I do think the Circo Loco palette is much different from the rest.

Orange, pink, blue and mint eyeshadows would be perfect to create rainbow eyeshadow looks, and you can still create some really elegant colorful smokey eye looks with it too. A winner all around.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Viseart Petites Mattes Editorial Brights

Yet another Viseart palette, and one perfect if you’re looking for completely matte eyeshadow palettes; the Petites Mattes Editorial Brights palette.

Oh My God (said in Janice’s voice).

Oh wow – this is unequivocably one of the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes ever created, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re a makeup artist or just a makeup addict.

The Viseart Petites Mattes Editorial Brights palette is so versatile it’s crazy; a lot of those eyeshadows double as beautiful blushes on dark skin and really pale skin.

Plus, if you want to just use them as a touch of color under a neutral eyeshadow look, why not? Or to powder a satin lipstick, it’s also possible.

Indeed, the Viseart eyeshadow palettes are on the smaller side, but with such pigmentation and possibilities, why would we need more product?

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Milani Gilded Terra Palette

One of the best American drugstore makeup brands in undoubtedly Milani, which also appears to offer plenty of MAC dupes, from lipsticks to eyeshadows.

Yet, one of their palettes, the Gilded Terra palette, is also one of the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes if you’re looking for a more muted color story for fall and winter.

I do understand that I’ve almost only talked about really colorful eyeshadow palettes in this guide, but sometimes, you want that same kind of rainbow palette, just a tad darker.

And that’s where the Gilded Terra palette is interesting, since it’s going to look utterly stunning on anyone from really fair skin with warm undertones to medium and dark skin.

It retails for $28, and you’ve got matte eyeshadows in there as well as metallics, all cohesive and to be mixed and matched with the neighboring shades.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Martine Cosmetics 1988 Palette

I’ve mentioned Martine Cosmetics a couple of times here and there, and for the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes, you can definitely count on this indie makeup brand.

The 1988 palette, in particular, is one that seems to be really often out of stock, and it’s n wonder why – the metallic eyeshadows in there are almost chrome, and the bold matte eyeshadows are buttery like no other.

The Martine Cosmetics 1988 palette is a bit pricier than, say, the Milani or Beauty Bay eyeshadow palettes, since it retails for $47.95.

Yet, when you see that there are also neutral eyeshadows there, it just becomes an everyday go-to palette and an amazing investment.

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Beauty Bay Retro Love Palette

A few months ago, Beauty Bay released their Retro Love palette, which appears to be – currently – one of the cheapest Beauty Bay rainbow eyeshadow palettes.

It boasts a really interesting color story inspired by era makeup, something from the 60s to the 80s, I’d say.

Obviously, the Retro Love palette follows the same intense yet blendable eyeshadow formula as the other Beauty Bay palettes.

I have to admit that the color story didn’t attract me that much to start with, but when I realized how many beautiful pastel eyeshadows were in there, along with super metallic eyeshadows, I was sold.

Ever since the collaborations with NikkieTutorials, I feel like Beauty Bay has really upped their pigmentation game; the formula of the eyeshadows is really different, almost foiled, and utterly amazing.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: LA Girl Desert Dream Main Stage Palette

I’ve talked about a couple of LA Girl products here and there, especially in my guides to the best MAC Spice lip liner dupes and Soar lip liner dupes.

Still, there are many more products you should try from this American drugstore brand.

The LA Girl eyeshadow palettes, in particular, have kept on giving for years now, offering more and more pigmentation at a quite affordable price.

The Desert Dream Main Stage palette, for instance, retails for $18 for 16 eyeshadows, and for those looking for the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes, it is one of the most unusual.

For starters, the Desert Dream Main Stage palette is a completely cool toned palette. Its counterpart, filled with warm toned eyeshadows, does exist.

Yet, the Main Stage palette is filled with ultra metallic and chrome eyeshadows, which you certainly have only been able to see in high end brands like Natasha Denona or Pat McGrath.

Really a bold palette perfect if you’re looking to create bright, colorful eyeshadow looks during spring, summer and even the dead of winter.

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: BPerfect x Stacey Marie Carnival All Stars Palette 

If you’re in the USA, one of the best ways to get the BPerfect eyeshadow palettes is online; in the UK, you can easily get them at Superdrug.

BPerfect has created a few palettes in collaboration with makeup artist Stacey Marie, like the Antidote and the Carnival palette, but it’s the Carnival All Stars palette you’re going to want to look at.

I feel like this one is better suited for beginners as well as makeup artists; sometimes, when you’re starting out in makeup and see huge rainbow eyeshadow palettes, it actually ends up deterring you from using them.

In the Carnival All Stars palette, you do have your neutral eyeshadows perfect for transition, but also really colorful eyeshadows in a range of duochrome, ultra metallic and matte finishes.

It retails for $28, so we’re at a mid-range budget here – and if you’ve ever tried the BPerfect palettes, you can pretty easily understand that Carnival All Stars is one of the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes ever released by BPerfect.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Beauty Bay Bright Matte 42 Palette

Bit sad that the Beauty Bay Bright Matte 42 palette has seen its price increase lately from $25 to $35, but it’s still worth every single penny, so here it is – indeed one of the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes ever created.

I’ve actually written for you a full Beauty Bay Bright Matte 42 palette review a few weeks ago, which you should definitely take a look if you’re interested in getting it.

In this palette, you’ve got a full range of really bold colors coupled with some beautiful neutral eyeshadows perfect for transition.

I’ve also always been of the opinion that most of the pink, red, orange and purple eyeshadows in there can double as blushes, and since they’re very pigmented, a little goes a long way.

Every eyeshadow in the Beauty Bay Bright Matte 42 palette is utterly pigmented and very blendable, except two of the darkest purple and blue eyeshadows.

Yet, for that price and considering the high quality of the rest of the eyeshadows (including the yellows which are usually hard to find super pigmented), that’s a sure bet.

I’ve always loved the Beauty Bay eyeshadow palettes, and this color story is one of the most cohesive if you’re looking for the best colorful eyeshadow palettes – you literally have every color possible inside.

Best Colorful Eyeshadow Palette: Sample Beauty The Equalizer Palette

The Sample Beauty Equalizer palette is another one of the most affordable rainbow eyeshadow palettes in this guide, and made from a British makeup brand led by none other than Sam Chapman, makeup artist and cofounder of Real Techniques.

You can get the Sample Beauty products from their official website and Beauty Bay, which seems to offer some of the trendiest makeup products anyway.

Sample Beauty was founded in 2018, and one of the core values of the brand is to fit the needs of makeup enthusiasts and makeup artist.

And best believe that when you’re on the go, the Equalizer palette is one of the best colorful eyeshadow palettes you can take with you, since you literally have every shade possible in there.

Not only those bright blue and pink eyeshadows, but also some neutral shades from nude beige to brown and the blackest black ever, so you can really create every type of look imaginable.

Best Rainbow Eyeshadow Palettes: Pierre Rene Pinch Me Palette

I’ve loved the Pierre Rene products ever since I can remember, and talked about a few of their lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes here a couple of times.

Pierre Rene is not only one of the best Polish makeup brands, they’re also visionaries in their color stories and formulation, and have been since 1993.

I sometimes feel it’s quite sad that the Inglot products are more famous than Pierre Rene, even though I have to admit that some products, like the Inglot gel eyeliners and the Inglot matte lipsticks, are otherworldly.

In any case, anyone looking for the best rainbow eyeshadow palettes should take a look at the Pierre Rene Pinch Me palette, which offers a toned-down rainbow color story.

Really wearable despite the super colorful palette, with 14 eyeshadows that retail around $30, and are clearly some of the most pigmented you’ve ever seen.

And if you’re a sucker for matte lipsticks, the Pierre Rene Royal Mat lipsticks are some of the creamiest ever – little friendly tip right there for you.
