The MAC Vino lip liner is one of the most beautiful purple lip liners you’ll find – ever, and there are lots of possible nude and pink lipstick combos to create with this one.
Now that the leaves are turning all kind of autumnal colors around the world, I thought I’d share some of the most beautiful lipstick combinations with the Vino lip liner.
Burgundy and maroon lipsticks enter the trend radar for pale and fair skin as soon as school starts again and we have to pace ourselves to be productive with work.
However, if you have medium to dark skin and pink to dark lips, you’ll probably end up wearing Vino all throughout the year – that’s how beautiful it looks on dark skin, too!
10 Beautiful MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combos for Fall
The MAC Vino lip liner is described as an intense violet purple shade, and whether you choose to pair it with a light pink or bright purple lipstick, it’ll do an energetic job.
I do tend to wear my MAC lip liners on their own or with a dash of the MAC Lipglass in Clear, but all the lipsticks I’ll share today look absolutely gorgeous for fall ombre lip looks.
It’s interesting to note that the Vino lip liner feels like it’s part of the same family as the Beet lip liner, Nightmoth, as well as the lighter and now-discontinued Nightingale lip liner.
I love finding that type of color family, like I did with Chicory, Auburn and Mahogany, and for skin with warm undertones, those three are amazing options.
If you happen have skin with cool undertones or olive skin, though, keep reading, and find here new lip combos with the Vino lip liner for absolutely anyone!
Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Rebel
First up, we have one of the most beautiful MAC lipsticks for fall, Rebel, from the Satin lipstick range.
This is a lively berry lipstick with a strong cool undertone, and one that tends to look amazing on medium skin, dark skin, Indian, and olive skin.
I would rather apply something a bit warmer toned on Asian skin and skin with warm undertones, but pretty much anyone can rock the Rebel lipstick.
And if you don’t want to splurge on the real deal, you’ll find lots of possible MAC Rebel dupes on The Working Line – make sure to check them out if you’re on a budget!

Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Heroine
Heroine is one of the statement lipsticks from MAC I absolutely love; with my fair olive skin, it tends to look absolutely gorgeous.
So much so that I actually happen to wear the Heroine lipstick as a blush from time to time – finding a good purple blush for fair skin is trickier than it seems.
Since the Vino lip liner is darker than Heroine, you’ll be able to create a really pretty ombre lip look with both and coat with clear lipgloss (or not).
On the eyes, I’d either go very soft with some kind of purple/lavender pastel eyeshadow or really contrasting with either orange or green eyeshadow.
If you want to go nude, some light pink eyeshadow or a wing of black eyeliner will also work really well with this purple lip combo!

Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Soar
The Soar lipstick boasts a strong cool undertone; it’s actually currently one of the most popular mauve MAC lipstick shades.
It’s completely matte, and was released in the same collection as You Wouldn’t Get It, which you might like better if you have cooler and lighter skin.
The Soar lipstick will be enhanced with how lively and purple the Vino lip liner is, and I would only really shade the outer corners of the lips with Vino.
On the eyes, some mauve eyeshadow to contrast the Vino lip liner and match with Soar will be enough, along with some highlighting blush from the Extra Dimension blush range.
You don’t want the whole look to be completely matte and drown your features!

Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Russian Red
I’ve told you about the Russian Red lipstick in many guides about MAC Cosmetics so far, and lately, I wrote a complete review of both Russian Red and Viva Glam 1, which are two of the best red lipsticks carried by the brand.
One of my favorite types of red lip combos with MAC Cosmetics products is pairing a purple lip liner with a red lipstick.
In this case, we have the Vino lip liner which can be used all around the lips or just on the outer corner to bring extra depth to your ombre lips look.
On the eyes, you can go for purple eyeshadow with the same type of red undertone as the Vino lip liner, or go for a dark red smoky eye look.
However, you can also keep it very nude on the eyes with just some black eyeliner and black mascara, and still be good to go.

Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Blankety
The Blankety lipstick offers a very hydrating yet pigmented texture which I’m definitely here for.
The fact that it is very light with a strong pinkish mauve undertone makes it perfect for all kinds of ombre lip looks.
You can wear the Blankety lipstick with the Vino lip liner in several ways; apply Vino all over and then Blankety to get a purplish mauve lipstick, or just shade lightly in the outer corners of the lips.
On the eyes, some type of mauve-ish white eyeshadow would look stunning, but you can go even more color block with some kind of matte purple-ish blue eyeliner.
On the cheeks, go cool-toned with some bright pink blush or some muted mauve blush – keep it cool!

Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Violetta
The MAC Violetta lipstick is described as a bright clean purple shade, and to me, it looks like an Amplified version of the beautiful, incredible, unforgettable Heroine lipstick.
This means that with the extra shine that Violetta brings, you’ll be able to catch the attention even quicker.
No yellow teeth with the Violetta lipstick and the Vino lip liner combo, though – purple tends to enhance yellow, its contrasting color, and that’s not something we really want.
On the eyes, I’d go for mauve eyeshadow or champagne pink just to let the lips do the talking, and use some type of soft pink blush on fair skin – purple-ish blush on medium to dark skin.

Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Ruby Woo
I told you about purple lip combos with the Ruby Woo lipstick when I wrote about combinations with Nightmoth.
You could honestly also even use the Cyber World lip liner, and it’d still look good.
Use the Vino lip liner all around your lips in a thick line, and dab a bit of the Ruby Woo lipstick from the center of your lips to the edges to get that perfect grunge ombre lip look.
On the eyes, I’d go for simple black mascara and nothing else, and use the Ruby Woo lipstick as a beautiful red blush.
If you choose to go down that route, make sure you go really light with Ruby Woo as a blush; it’s super duper pigmented!

Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Viva Glam 1
The Viva Glam 1 lipstick is one of my personal favorite red MAC lipsticks; it’s super pigmented, and boasts a good balance of brown and blue which means…
It looks good on anyone.
Whether you have dark olive skin or super pale skin with warm undertones, Viva Glam 1 is that magical shade that will never let you down.
If you feel like it’s too strong of a color to wear on a daily basis, nothing stops you from applying a very small amount of the lipstick – you don’t have to go bold every time.
However, with the Vino lip liner and Viva Glam 1 combination, we do have a statement mix here.
If you want to create a new lip color, you can definitely apply the MAC Vino lip liner all over your lips and then Viva Glam 1, and allow both colors to mix.
To get to the third color quicker, I’d apply Viva Glam 1 with a lip brush – but then again, I love using makeup brushes.
I’m an ex-makeup artist, after all, and I have to say there are some incredible MAC makeup brushes you should have in your stash for precision and coverage!

Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Please Me
The MAC Please Me lipstick is one of the most popular pink lipsticks of the brand, and is described as a muted-rosy-tinted pink.
Compared to the Mehr lipstick, it is lighter, brighter and pinker, where Mehr is more of a mauve lipstick.
Please Me is super wearable on pale skin (think blondes and redheads with freckles) all the way to medium skin, and that’s a shade I’d rather recommend for skin with cool undertones and olive skin.
With the Soar lip liner, Please Me makes for a wearable combo – with the Vino lip liner, it makes for a more statement lip.
Perfect to wear with purple, pink, lavender, or light metallic eyeshadow or why not some clear lipgloss on the eyes for an editorial look?

Best MAC Vino Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Bronx
The MAC Bronx lipstick is probably one of the most underrated nude lipsticks you’ll find at MAC, and I have to say its texture makes it tricky to apply.
When I personally buy a new nude lipstick, what I look for is a creamy matte texture and great pigmentation.
Yet, the creamy texture does come first, as you can always strengthen a lipstick’s pigmentation with a same-color lip liner underneath.
The Bronx lipstick is part of the ultra-matte Retro Matte lipstick range, which means you honestly can’t go without the Prep + Prime for lips or even some of Inglot’s Duraline to make it more comfortable to wear.
With the Vino lip liner, though, the Bronx lipstick looks absolutely incredible, and this is due to the slightly grey undertone that Bronx offers – it matches Vino to perfection.
And if you ever want to create nude lip combos with Bronx, think of the Stripdown lip liner, Oak, Chestnut or Whirl.
