One question is everlasting: is Max and More a good makeup brand? A few years ago, the quality was a little bit off, but already promising to be honest. If you’ve ever wanted to get yourself one of the Max and More eyeshadow palettes when browsing the makeup aisle at Action stores, now’s the time more than ever.

I have known the makeup brand ever since it started offering affordable makeup products when I was 18 (I’m now 28).

I started my huge makeup collection with the Max and More eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks, which I shopped for in the Action stores in Troyes, France, where I was born and raised.

I then went on to find Max and More cosmetics in the Parisian suburbs, where I lived for four years before moving to London.

Not long ago, I spotted on the Max and More Cosmetics social media one of their newest, breathtaking eyeshadow palettes, the Brazil palette.

After some research, I came to the realization that Max and More are starting to offer makeup somewhat more professional than what they used to do.

Of course, in my opinion, Max and More is still makeup that you would find in budget shops in London, like B&M, Home Bargains, or pound shops.

But from what I’ve seen, the pigmentation of the Max and More eyeshadow palettes is really intense, and I’ve owned enough makeup both for myself and in my makeup artist kit to know a good eyeshadow palette when I see one, even just on pictures.

So I thought it would be nice to share with you a complete guide about the Max and More eyeshadow palettes at Action if you’re looking for cheap and good makeup!

And if you’d like to discover more amazing makeup brands, take a look at the guides below:

If you don’t have an Action store nearby, it’s really one of the shops to shop at when you’re in France, Belgium, or the Netherlands. Max and More is a good makeup brand, but finding its products in the UK or somewhere other than Europe can be quite tricky unless you shop for lipsticks, concealers, lip liners, and eyeshadow palettes online or in budget shops.

All the people who pay a visit to Action love it, and whenever I’m in France, I can’t get tired of shopping there.

It’s that kind of shop where you can find a bit of everything from Max and More eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks to cheap home decor like you’d find at TK Maxx, Home Bargains, or even B&M where you can also find stunning W7 nail polish colors.

In addition, you’ve got lots of snacks, coloring books, cheap scented candles, bedding stuff, arts and crafts, and stationery. Like B&M, really.

All the Max and More eyeshadow palettes I’ll show you in this guide are made of 21 eyeshadows and cost €4.59, which makes them really perfect eyeshadow palettes if you’d like to see whether new colors suit your eyes and skin tone.

The Max and More 24 eyeshadow palette colors were powdery, and not-so-pigmented – but these new ones are stunning.

You have mattes, shimmers, and metallic eyeshadows, and the possibility to create countless makeup looks with the Max and More eyeshadow palettes.

I’m already working on a guide that will show you the best Max and More makeup products, which I’ll publish in the upcoming days since the Max & More makeup prices are stunning and you might be wondering if the makeup is actually good.

But for now, let’s talk about the palettes – with all the colors and finishes in pictures, you’re bound to find your favorite Max and More eyeshadow palette!

Max and More Eyeshadow Palettes: Skyline Palette

The Max and More Skyline eyeshadow palette is one of the darkest, and most fall-themed that you can find in the Action makeup aisle. You’ve got a great balance between matte and shimmer eyeshadows – or, should I say, metallic eyeshadows, and the color story is really magnificent.

To be completely honest, it’s probably one of the Max and More eyeshadow palettes I wouldn’t shop for straight away.

As much for myself as when I used to do makeup, I would go for bright colors or really dark colors like emerald, petrol blue, or plum shades which convey a more mysterious message via the eye look.

However, the fact that you can find a bit of everything in the Max and More Skyline eyeshadow palette makes it a great purchase if you’d like to see whether gold or orange eyeshadow suit you, or purple, and in any case, we’ve got a great selection of nudes in the Skyline palette that can really suit any eye color.

Max and More Eyeshadow Palettes: Wild Flowers

The Max and More Wild Flowers eyeshadow palette, on the other hand, is one of my ultimate favorites.

Honestly, the color story blends lots of different dreamy colors that go from warm to cool-toned eyeshadows and allows us to create various combinations that wouldn’t be possible with the Max and More Skyline palette that I mentioned above.

In the Wild Flowers palette, we’ve got a khaki eyeshadow, one of my favorite colors, a plum shade, a shimmery sky blue eyeshadow, gold and burgundy eyeshadows, with muted shades and brighter eyeshadows – and a stunning emerald green eyeshadow called Grassland, stunningly pigmented and breathtaking.

Wild Flowers is one of the Max and More eyeshadow palettes you should get your hands on whether you’re looking to create daytime or nighttime eye looks – a really well-thought and well-crafted palette.

Max and More Eyeshadow Palettes: Bloom

Let’s get this out of the way; the Max and More Bloom eyeshadow palette, I see in it a dupe of Urban Decay’s Born to Run palette. Or a dupe of the OPV Spotlight palette, whichever you want.

That’s a great selection of softer and more muted eyeshadows than the Wild Flowers palette, with a true possibility to create makeup combinations for every day with the countless nude eyeshadows inside.

It’s true that in the Action makeup aisles, you can find lots of Max and More eyeshadow palettes different from one another, whether we’re talking about the 21-eyeshadow palettes that I’m talking about today or the smaller palettes which look like they’re Makeup Revolution palette dupes from when the brand started out.

With the Bloom eyeshadow palette, you’ve got everything you need when it comes to creating everyday makeup looks, alongside more colorful shades; green, petrol blue, pink, and orange – making it a really good Max and More eyeshadow palette when you’re just starting out.

Max and More Eyeshadow Palettes: Sunrise

I’m known for fancying really bright eyeshadow colors, and nude eyeshadows, in my opinion, are rather meh. Or like Joey says in Friends, ‘moo’. A moo point.

So coming from that, the Max and More Sunrise eyeshadow palette, it’s really a great discovery for whoever wants to find a palette with more nude eyeshadows than the Skyline palette I talked about at the beginning of this guide.

And any way, both eyeshadow palettes are actually complementary, but aside from the gold eyeshadow and some copper colors here and there, I don’t feel like the palette is that interesting for someone who already owns lots of eyeshadows.

However, if you’re paying a visit to the Action makeup aisle and you come across the Sunrise eyeshadow palette, that’s still a great gem in terms of cheap makeup, whether you’re starting out or want to complete your Max and More eyeshadow palette collection.

Max and More Eyeshadow Palettes: Soir

With the Max and More Soir eyeshadow palette, we’ve already got something a bit more interesting compared to the Sunrise palette I’ve just shown you. We’ve got mattes, shimmers, and metallic eyeshadows, but the color scheme is much darker.

It does seem to me that this Max and More palette is a kind of dupe of the Marc Jacobs Scandulust eyeshadow palette (not that much, but still).

You can recognize straight away some ashy colors and plummy pink that could very well have been part of the Marc Jacobs palette.

In any case, in the Max and More Soir palette, you can also find very interesting evening colors, with gold and a stunning electric blue eyeshadow – both metallic and very pigmented.

Max and More Eyeshadow Palettes: Brazil

The Max and More Brazil palette is already more colorful than the rest of the makeup palettes at Action, but while you’d think the Brazil eyeshadows would be very vivid, you could get disappointed in the overall result.

Indeed, even if this Max and More eyeshadow palette offers stunning metallic eyeshadows, most of the bright colors are actually matte.

That’s where you see that the brand offers makeup crafted for the French, Belgian and Dutch populations – countries where makeup is used in a muted way, with neutral shades, and much less colorful than makeup you would find in London makeup shops.

Whether you’d like to start using colorful eyeshadows just to try or are looking for a nude eyeshadow palette with some more fun colors, the Max and More Brazil palette is still interesting – unless you’ve already got countless makeup palettes at home.

Max and More Eyeshadow Palettes: Club Life

The Max and More Club Life palette offers a color story that is a little bit similar to the Skyline eyeshadow palette, with more varied and brighter colors.

That’s really a color story that I enjoy looking at, that inspires me, and something you would never have seen in the Action makeup aisle a few years back.

Between the very interesting blue eyeshadows (especially the blue grey and sky blue shimmers), the reddish-orange, the bright purple, and the gold eyeshadows, you’ve got all you need to create stunning looks.

It seems like Max and More eyeshadow palettes include ever more colors aimed to please different skin tones – which wasn’t the case when I started out with makeup.

There are lots of eyeshadows in the Club Life palette that would look stunning on fair skin and black skin, making it a staple for your makeup collection.

Max and More Eyeshadow Palettes: Floral Romance

max and more eyeshadow palettes - max and more makeup - action makeup review - max and more eyeshadow palette review - max and more makeup review - max and more cosmetics - max and more eye makeup - max and more floral romance palette

The Max and More Floral Romance palette, on the other hand, is a palette I’d see more of use for fair-skinned people.

Aside from a few shimmer eyeshadows that dark skins will be able to use here and there to brighten up an eye look, most mattes will clearly not suit them – unless you use a good eyeshadow primer like those of P. Louise.

This Max and More eyeshadow palette, it’s something really romantic, almost melancholic that I see being of great use on light eyes and blondes or redheads, or maybe black hair and fair-skinned people.

Of course, anyone can use whatever they use, but the goal of makeup is to enhance your features – and it’s only my opinion, anyway.

We’ve got really pretty muted colors in this Max and More Floral Romance palette; plums, greyish purple at the bottom left, the dark blue-grey eyeshadow – these are eyeshadows that you don’t see everywhere, and which show that the Max and More Cosmetics brand has matured as time passed.

There you have them, all the Max and More eyeshadow palettes that are worthy both of time and the low budget they require!

At some point in time, getting eyeshadow palettes from Action was a bit of a hit and miss, but it seems like Max and More makeup has grown and matured to offer makeup addicts really good products to complete our collections.

I have a few favorites, that’s for sure; the Max and More Wild Flowers palette, and the Floral Romance and Skyline palettes are three really different colors stories that allow us to treat ourselves by creating new everyday looks on a really low budget.

Also, 21 eyeshadows for €4.59 is really hard to come by, even if there are lots of cheap makeup brands popping up here and there all the time, although you can definitely find some gems in makeup stores in London like Superdrug or Boots.

Yet, visiting Action stores is a whole experience in itself, so there’s only one thing left to do; hunt these Max and More eyeshadow palettes down!

Until next time!
