We’re in the midst of winter at the moment, aren’t we, so I thought that I’d round up all the best MAC winter lipstick shades for you.
From fair skin to dark skin, we’ll see here all the best deep winter lipstick colors, and bright winter MAC lipsticks.
That way, you can wear them to really embrace the cold weather without losing your mind (as it just so happens so often to me when it gets too under 25°C for – yes, I love the warm weather, and need it in my life).
Lately, I told you about some of the best MAC winter lipstick shades already, from the best MAC berry lipsticks to stunning maroon and burgundy lipstick colors, and some of the most beautiful, cool-toned brown and mauve pink lipsticks.
Today, we’re going to round up all the winter MAC lipstick colors that can look beautiful whether you have olive skin, fair skin, Asian, medium, Indian or dark skin!
12 Best Winter MAC Lipstick Shades from Fair to Dark Skin

Most of the best MAC winter lipstick shades are some you might have seen in other guides.
Some, like D for Danger, Antique Velvet, or Heroine, are some of my ultimate favorite MAC matte lipstick shades.
You’ll almost find only matte lipsticks in this guide, also, just because some of the deep winter MAC lipstick colors are part of the matte range.
There aren’t too many Amplified lipsticks, for instance, that I’d personally wear during the winter.
Some brighter colors, like Saint Germain or Rebel, are more hydrating MAC lipsticks, and they also look amazing whether you’re looking for a new color for winter, spring, or even summer!
Best Winter MAC Lipstick Shades: D for Danger
Brick red
D for Danger has been one of my favorite bright winter MAC lipstick shades for a long, long time. I remember the first time I ever laid eyes on it, and decided I couldn’t live without it.
If you have seen my guide to the best MAC raspberry lipsticks, you’ll have understood the scope of my love for berry and raspberry shades.
They’re some of the best colors you can apply on absolutely every skin tone, from medium skin to fair olive skin, Indian skin and very dark skin tones.
If you’re looking for the best cool winter MAC lipstick, D for Danger is perfectly blue-toned; kind of a reminder of the Diva lipstick but in a much pinker version.
You can definitely see the berry undertone in the shade on fair skin, while on really black skin, it will look a bit more red, and a bit deeper. Stunning when you pair it with the Beet lip liner.

Best Bright Winter MAC Lipstick: Rebel
Midtonal cream plum
Then you’ve got Rebel, which is part of the MAC Satin lipstick range, and it’s to me one of the overall best winter MAC lipstick shades if you’re looking for something more purple, more berry-toned, and more hydrating too.
The Satin lipsticks are some of my favorite, and I tend to go for more brown lipsticks like Paramount or Spirit (which I then pair with some of the most beautiful MAC brown lip liners, since they’re some of the best in the world!).
Yet, the Rebel lipstick is an amazing shade whether you have fair skin with warm or cool undertones, olive skin, Indian skin, or dark skin.
Pair it with the Vino, Cyber World, or Nightmoth lip liners for a slight ombre lip that will look otherworldly.

Best Winter MAC Lipstick Shades: Diva
Intense reddish-burgundy
We talked about D for Danger, and now’s the time to talk about the MAC Diva lipstick – as I mentioned above, the two are roughly similar in tone, but Diva is that true burgundy red lipstick that looks stunning on absolutely everyone.
If you’ve got really dark lips, it will look more red, and to achieve a more maroon, burgundy finish, I would also recommend either the Sin lipstick or the Media lipstick from the Satin range.
Pair it with the Burgundy lip liner, Nightmoth or even Chestnut, and you’ll get a stunning winter MAC lipstick combo that you can even wear on date night all year round.

Best Bright Winter MAC Lipstick: Russian Red
Intense bluish-red
I couldn’t write about the best winter MAC lipstick shades without mentioning at least one red lipstick, now could I? One of the all-time best MAC red lipsticks is Russian Red, simply because it looks amazing whether you have dark skin, medium skin, or fair skin.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re Latino, Indian, or Asian – the MAC Russian Red lipstick looks stunning on absolutely everyone.
My favorite way of wearing Russian Red is with the Cherry lip liner, but if you’d like to use a darker lip liner, go for Nightmoth or Chestnut – perfect on medium to dark skin tones.

Best Winter MAC Lipstick Shades: Burning Love
Deep intense berry
The MAC Burning Love lipstick is part of the Powder Kiss lipsticks, which means it’s beautiful on quite any skin tone, super comfortable, and so versatile you can also use it as a blush.
The burgundy berry shade is indeed perfect as a blush on medium to dark skin – if you want to use it as a blush on fair skin, you’ll have to go with a very light hand.
Burning Love is one of the best deep winter MAC lipstick shades if you don’t want to go for something like D for Danger, Diva or Sin.
Most importantly, I like it a lot because of its very blendable texture – you don’t have to wear it with a full-on color, but can also apply just a touch of lipstick on your lips and blend it out with your fingers.
If you’d like a cleaner finish, use some of the dark MAC lip liners like Nightmoth, Half Red, or Plum underneath or all around to create a beautiful, darker contour.

Best Deep Winter MAC Lipstick: Succumb to Plum
Deep cool purple
The MAC Succumb to Plum lipstick is the only one I’ll mention from the Lustreglass range here, but if you tend to have dry lips and usually look for hydrating MAC lipsticks, you’re going to love it.
Succumb to Plum is one of the best deep winter MAC lipstick shades if you’re looking for something even more purple, really dark, and really vamp.
It looks perfect on fair lips, although you’re going to want to wear a lip liner underneath like Vino, Nightmoth, or Cyber World so it doesn’t feather.
On medium skin tones, the Succumb to Plum lipstick gives a really sophisticated finish, while it looks really statement on really dark skin. One of the most beautiful cool winter MAC lipstick colors to have in your stash for the cold weather.

Best Winter MAC Lipstick Shades: Please Me
Muted-rosy-tinted pink
I have talked a lot about the Mehr lipstick and other wearable everyday nude lipsticks like Velvet Teddy and Twig here on The Working Line, but I’ve never talked about the Please Me lipstick.
Well, Please Me is one of the best cool winter MAC lipstick shades for very pale and fair skin tones; from Caucasian to Indian, as long as you’ve got fair skin and even olive skin, it’s one of the best everyday lipsticks to face the cold.
Pair it with some of the best MAC lip liners for fair skin like Dervish, Edge to Edge, or Soar, and you’ve got a perfect cool-toned pink nude lip for winter.

Best MAC Winter Lipstick Shades: Soar
Mid-tone cool mauve
The Soar lipstick isn’t only one of the best winter MAC lipstick shades; all year round, it’s a perfect nude lipstick for medium skin tones, Indian and olive skin.
It boasts the same color as the Soar lip liner, only it packs much more pigment from the get-go, whereas with the Soar lip liner, you have to go over the line a few times to reach the same color as the lipstick.
A few amazing Soar lipstick and lip liner combos would be with the Plum lip liner, Chestnut, or even Stone if you want to stay in that really cool-toned color story.
Stunning also for dark skin tones looking for a more statement type of winter MAC lipstick, less deep than shades like Diva and Smoked Purple, which we’ll see right below.

Best Winter MAC Lipstick Shades: Smoked Purple
Deep eggplant purple
I haven’t talked much about the MAC Smoked Purple lipstick here, but it’s one of my favorite deep winter MAC lipstick colors.
I cannot believe that someone in the world wouldn’t like the Smoked Purple shade; it’s cool-toned, deep, and really statement on fair skin, medium skin, and dark skin tones alike!
With my fair olive skin tone (I wear foundation in NW15 to NW20), this is one of the most beautiful purple MAC lipsticks, and it looks really astonishing whenever I wear it.
The only thing is that since it’s really dark and really matte, you’ve really got to hydrate those lips, and even wear some of that Prep + Prime for lips if you don’t want the fine lines to show.
Wear it with lip liners in Cyber World, Nightmoth, or Chestnut, or even with some waterproof black eye pencil to create an ombre lip look, but make sure it’s lip-safe beforehand.

Best Deep Winter MAC Lipstick: Antique Velvet
Intense Brown
Antique Velvet was one of the first MAC brown lipsticks I ever purchased, along with the Whirl lipstick, which could actually also be part of the best deep winter MAC lipstick shades if you want a cool-toned, mid-tone brown lip color.
The MAC Antique Velvet lipstick has this intense, rich chocolate brown color with just the slightest tinge of red, and it is in my opinion one of the most beautiful lipsticks MAC Cosmetics has ever released.
I feel like anyway, MAC is really, really good with brown lipsticks and lip liners.
All you have to do is observe just how popular shades look on fair skin, from the Taupe lipstick, Whirl, or Velvet Teddy to the world-famous Whirl lip liner and the Spice lip liner.
Then, for dark Indian and Asian skin, and medium to dark skin tones, we’ve got stunning shades like Consensual, Paramount, and Antique Velvet with the Cork lip liner or the Chestnut lip liner looking otherworldly too.
It’s easy to see why the brown lipsticks there are so popular whether you’re looking for an everyday nude or a specific deep winter MAC lipstick – they just hit the spot every single time.

Best Cool Winter MAC Lipstick: Heroine
Bright purple
Now if you’d like to go for a bright winter MAC lipstick, the shade Heroine is one of my ultimate favorites: I’d wear it all year round, to be honest, and I’ve always been astounded to see just how beautiful it looks on me and my olive skin.
After all, really cool-toned lipsticks look amazing on olive skin, but if there are some skin tones that can rock the MAC Heroine lipstick to perfection, it’s Indian and dark skin tones as well!
When I wear the Heroine lipstick, I’ll usually apply the lipstick as a blush as well, put on some pink highlighter, and add a sharp black eyeliner – all good to go.

Best Bright Winter MAC Lipstick: Saint Germain
Clean pastel pink
Another really cool winter MAC lipstick is one I’ve never talked about on The Working Line, and it’s Saint Germain from the Amplified lipsticks.
This one is almost a long shot; I don’t know a lot of people who would dare wear Saint Germain out on the town.
Yet, whether you’ve got medium skin or really pale skin with cool undertones, this is one of the best winter MAC lipstick shades to boast.
If you find that it’s really too difficult to wear on its own, some lip liner pairings with the Saint Germain lipstick would be Vino, Whirl, or Plum.
What you can do is apply the lip liner over your lips, then add a dash of the Saint Germain lipstick on top and let both colors mix. That way, you’ve got a really bright winter MAC lipstick toned down, and you can wear it all year round too!
