The color blends out really well with most of the MAC nude lipsticks.

I’ve always been of the opinion that a good price for a lip liner is around $10 max, unless it’s waterproof – in that case, I don’t mind splurging, like for the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat lip liners.
But some drugstore brands like NYX have achieved the perfect formula for their products, and don’t break the bank; far from it.
Probably the best MAC Chestnut lip liner dupe of all, the NYX Espresso lip liner offers a creamier formula than the MAC lip liners.
The color is almost similar to Chestnut, and perfect to wear for ombre lips or as a nude brown lip liner on brown and dark skin tones.
Given that the formula is creamier, the lasting time is a bit shortened, but your lips will suffer less/need less of a lip balm and lip primer for all day wear.

The Colourpop Pitch lip liner is another great MAC Chestnut lip liner dupe.
Not only is the packaging the cutest, but the formula glides on and on and on.
The Colourpop lip liners retail for around $7, so you clearly have another one of the most affordable dupes for MAC Chestnut.
Great formula, perfect to wear with or without a Colourpop Lippie Stix on top, and a great lip liner to wear in combination with some pastel eyeshadow.

About as affordable as the NYX Espresso lip liner, you do have a great MAC Chestnut lip liner dupe in the Makeup Revolution brand.
I’ve already written here about some of the best Makeup Revolution dupes for MAC lipsticks, and while I haven’t gotten to the lip liners yet, you’ve already got TGIF.
The Satin Kiss TGIF lip liner is that dark chocolate brown, much creamier than the MAC Chestnut lip liner.
It holds its case pretty well, and given that it retails for around $5, I guess that’s really one of the go-to’s for anyone after drugstore dupes for MAC Chestnut.

Best MAC Chestnut Lip Liner Dupe: Juvia’s Place Kola Lip Liner
I’ve talked quite a bit here about the Juvia’s Place lip liners; here, you have another great option if you’re looking for a good MAC Chestnut lip liner dupe.
There’s nothing I don’t like about Juvia’s Place; their eyeshadow palettes are of tremendous quality, as are the matte lipsticks, the blushes, the foundations…
All of it is the whole package.

If you’re looking for the best MAC Chestnut lip liner dupe from Morphe, you’ve got the Color Pencil in Trendsetter.
It seems that while the Morphe lip liners are available in plenty of shades, they do seem to cater to fair skin the most.
They’ve got, for instance, plenty of lip liner shades that would go well with mauve lipsticks, or shades like Velvet Teddy.
In any case, the Morphe Trendsetter lip liner is not that different from MAC Chestnut, so we have a good dupe here, which retails only for about $6 – a third of the MAC price, we’re not doing too bad here!
Best MAC Chestnut Lip Liner Dupe: Rare Beauty Strong Lip Liner
One of the most underrated dupes for MAC Chestnut lip liner, the Rare Beauty Strong lip liner!
Oh boy, that one is probably one of the closest shades to the Chestnut lip liner, and the Rare Beauty lip liners are described as ‘smooth, balm-like’.
Expect a bit more lasting time as you would for the MAC lip liners, as this one is waterproof, and you can also expect more comfort throughout the day.
What else could you wish for?
Oh, maybe the fact that the Rare Beauty Strong lip liner also has a retractable tip and a built-in sharpener!
Best MAC Chestnut Lip Liner Dupe: Maybelline Sensational Shaping Rich Chocolate
Next up, the Maybelline Sensational Shaping lip liner in Rich Chocolate!
Another really good drugstore dupe for MAC Chestnut lip liner, with that top formula that seems to be Maybelline’s signature move.
Affordable, too, since the Maybelline lip liners retail for well under $10, and since the color is also the same as the Chestnut lip liner, you’ve got a great option here.
Why not try a look with a fiery orange eyeshadow, matching blush and the Maybelline Rich Chocolate lip liner all over your lips? Finish with clear lipgloss, and you’re good to go!

Not an exact dupe for MAC Chestnut here, with the Kiko Smart Fusion lip liner in 531, but a close one all the same, and a perfect, perfect formula.
Out of all the best Kiko products, the Smart Fusion lip liners are some of my favorite.
Couple them with the Smart Fusion lipsticks, and you’ve got almost the same finish as a MAC Amplified lipstick.
The Smart Fusion 531 lip liner is a bit lighter than the MAC Chestnut lip liner.
If you’d like to go for a shade that looks more like the Stone lip liner, a bit more greyish, you also have the Smart Fusion 536 lip liner.
In any case, a cool option when you’re really on a budget but still want to treat yourself!
Best MAC Chestnut Lip Liner Dupe: Nabla Close-Up Lip Shaper #6
I talked about some of the Nabla Close Up Lip Shapers here before in other MAC dupe guides, and here we go again, with the shade Nude #6.
This one is a beautiful dark brown, a little bit different from the muted cool-brown that the MAC Chestnut lip liner boasts, but still a great dupe for it.
A bit creamier, too, as you really won’t have to wear any lip primer underneath to make it glide on your lips.
And waterproof, too.
The only downside would be that the Nabla lip liners are not drugstore dupes for MAC, which means you’ll pay a little over $10 for that dupe.
However, since it’s completely waterproof, you’ll also use less product, and the Lip Shaper #6 will actually last you longer in time.

Best MAC Chestnut Lip Liner Dupe: MUA Intense Colour Lip Liner Obsession
The MUA Makeup Academy products are amazing, and while they’re mostly available in the UK rather than the USA, you can still get them from some online shops.
And you should wish to; in the UK, the MUA Makeup Academy lip liners are some of the most affordable, even more affordable than the Barry M lip liners, and longer!
And for whoever wants to find the best MAC Chestnut lip liner dupe, the MUA Obsession lip liner is a great pick.
A little bit more chocolate-toned where the Chestnut lip liner seems a bit more muted in its brown color, but still, at that price, you really can’t go wrong.

Indeed, the LA Girl lip liners are known for being some of the cheapest in the makeup industry – and you can get them in shops like Target too!

The texture is actually waterproof, and will remind lovers of the now-discontinued MAC Pro Longwear lip liners of that exact same formula.
The NYX Urban Cafe lip liner glides on more easily than MAC Chestnut, and does stay put all day long without budging an inch.
While the color is a tad lighter, a bit warmer as well, the simple fact that you’ve got a dupe for the Pro Longwear formula made me fall in love with the NYX Slide On range years ago.
