First up, you’ve got Caffè Nero – back in the UK, I have found that Caffè Nero in London are amazing places to study and type away on my laptop, and it’s no different in Boston.

The Caffè Nero in Millenium Place has plenty of seating space, with free WiFi and power outlets – jackpot for those after the best cafes to work in Boston.

Lots of people visit this one on a daily basis, and it’s easy to understand why; Caffè Nero is known to accommodate and welcome freelancers and students very well.

Great drinks, good cakes and pastries, and nice background music will accompany your work day which can be as long as you want: Caffè Nero Washington St is open from 6.30 am to 9 pm during weekdays!

Ula Cafe is very different from Caffè Nero and Starbucks cafes in that it’s got more of that independent vibe.

And if you want to bring your pup while working the day away, you’ll find Ula Cafe to be, indeed, one of the best coffee shops to study in Boston.

Few power outlets in this one, however, you do have free WiFi, so no need to hotspot.

Also, for those of you who prefer to be alone in their zone, you’ll find lots of single tables at Ula Cafe perfect when you really don’t want anyone sitting next to you.

Although isn’t that amazing when many people are studying and working side by side, enjoying the vibe of a laidback coffee shop, in which you’ll also be able to try amazing homemade pastries?

Jaho Coffee Roaster is much more than just a coffee roaster; it turns into a laidback party place as soon as the sunset shows.

The coffee shop is open from 6.30 am, so if you come early, you’ll be able to snatch the best seats.

The wooden, rustic atmosphere is something that always makes me feel overly productive.

And since Jaho has three locations split between Washington St, Back Bay and one at the border between Chinatown and Downtown, you know that’s a sure spot to be productive.

Amazing pastries are offered there during the day, along with delicious lattes.

Digital nomads will enjoy the power plugs scattered around the coffee shop and the free WiFi, and during your rest day, brunch bites at Jaho Coffee are also must-tries.

Back in London, one of my favorite places to study and work is Starbucks coffee shops.

And while they’re not equal everywhere in the world, those looking for the best cafes to work in Boston have the option of visiting Starbucks at the Financial Center.

You’ll be able to enjoy amazing WiFi there, and Starbucks Financial Center also has power outlets available to plug in your laptop.

However, since this is a pretty frequented spot, I would recommend coming as early as you can.

It can get crowded during the day, so if you want some good study motivation, come when the coffee shop is as empty as possible… which is from 5.30 am during the week!

For those who like working in minimalist coffee shops, here’s a top pick for you, and what I imagine will soon become one of the most popular cafes to work in Boston: Blue Bottle Coffee.

There are quite a few branches of Blue Bottle Coffee in Boston and around the country, but the Newbury St branch is one of the most interesting for us today.

The space is bright and airy, there are lots of seats available, and Blue Bottle Coffee is open from 7 am to 6 pm almost every day – closes at 7 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Interesting coffee recipes too; try the black cardamom latte any day!

Capital One Cafe is yet another one of the best cafes to work in Boston, and that one is definitely targeted at digital nomads and freelancers who want power outlets and free WiFi in one setting.

The opening hours at Capital One Cafe are decent; 7 am to 6 pm during the week, and 8 am to 4 pm at weekends.

You have several locations in town, but the Seaport Blvd branch is one of the most interesting, just because you’re on the waterfront and have the view if you wish to enjoy some rippling waters!

Great free WiFi, and again, many power plugs make Capital One Cafe a must-visit if you’re after the best places to study in Boston.

Best Cafes to Work in Boston: Cuppacoffee

I would probably recommend Cuppacoffee for short stays, as while there is free WiFi, there are few power outlets in the coffee shop.

Come with your laptop and your phone charged, and you’ll still be able to enjoy the wonderful vibe that both the decor and the Cuppacoffee team diffuse in the coffee shop.

And better yet, in this cute little South End cafe, you will have amazing drinks (their lattes are to die for!) and Aussie-inspired dishes, which is a nice change from the usual Caffè Nero or Starbucks.

Plenty of tables to settle at, good WiFi, great menu – is that enough to consider it one of the coolest study cafes in Boston?

Best Cafes to Work in Boston: George Howell Coffee

If you need to work and find really fast WiFi, check out George Howell Coffee at Lafayette City Center.

No matter what time you arrive, you’re almost guaranteed to find a seat as there is lots of seating space there.

Not only that, but for those looking for the best cafes to work in Boston and stay all day long, the opening times are pretty great – 7 am to 6.30 pm every day of the week.

Every. Single. Day.

There are few power outlets at George Howell Coffee, though, so come with your laptop and phone charged just in case you can’t find a seat near one.

Still, given how many students and freelancer visit this hidden gem, it’s safe to say you’ll be in one of the best places to study in Boston at George Howell Coffee.

Minimalist, clean, there’s nothing more we could wish for.

Best Cafes to Work in Boston: Ogawa Coffee

Ogawa Coffee is one of these study coffee shops you’ll want to visit when you have some light work to do, honestly.

I prefer visiting huge coffee shops in which I know I’ll blend in the background.

I want to find spots where will really be able to focus, without having to wonder whether I’m taking the spot of someone who’d spend more than my three or four coffees in a day.

If you’re like me, then Ogawa Coffee is indeed one of the best cafes to work in Boston for a couple of hours.

Light tasks, and since it’s open from 8 am to 4 pm during the week (9 am to 4.30 pm at weekends), you’ll almost be forced to take some rest at the end of the day. #workaholiclife

Best Coffee Shops to Study in Boston: Pavement Coffeehouse

Pavement Coffeehouse has various branches around town, but the Boylston St coffee shop is another interesting spot when you’re looking for places to study in Boston.

Especially since you have really good WiFi too – not many power outlets, so come with those devices charged.

Whether you want to really be in the zone or share the communal tables, Pavement Coffeehouse makes for another one of the best cafes to work in Boston, especially for tasks on your laptop.

Great decor, minimalist enough that you can focus, but airy enough that you’ll want to lose yourself in the observation of life passing by around you, that’s yet another study cafe to have on your list.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe only needed to add ‘bakery’ in the name for all the greedy freelancers to want to visit – luckily, they actually do offer much more than just cakes and cookies.

At Tatte Bakery & Cafe on Boylston St (same road as Pavement Coffeehouse and a couple of other good study cafes in Boston), you have plenty of seating space.

It’s that bright and airy type of dreamy bakery, where coffee and cinnamon buns blend, and WiFi is quite fast.

The opening times are really decent too; 7 am to 8 pm almost every day of the week – so come for breakfast, and end up staying for the ultra productive vibe!

Best Laptop Friendly Cafes in Boston: Caffe Nero Congress St

Another one of the biggest – and best cafes to work in Boston is, unsurprisingly, Caffè Nero. Again!

Only this time, we’re on Congress St, and you’ll find the coffee shop is really spacious and filled with students and freelancers from the morn’ to dusk.

Free WiFi, a few power outlets to call yours if you come early enough, and a quality of coffee that equals the rest of the Caffè Nero coffee shops across the country.

And yet, despite all that, it’s really just the decor and the atmosphere that will make you feel productive with work.

Opening times? 6.30 am to 6 pm during the week, and 7.30 am to 6 pm at weekends which translates to plenty of time to grind in one of the most laptop friendly cafes in Boston.

Panera Bread on Huntington Ave has two things for itself – a lot of seating space, and amazing opening times.

In terms of WiFi, I’d much rather recommend you use your own hotspot, as it can be flakey, but if you manage to make it work, then the fact that you have two floors will ensure you remain as undisturbed as possible.

From 6 am to 10 pm during the week (7 am to 10 pm on Sundays), you can come with your laptop, your books and your notebooks, and honestly just work, work, and work some more till you drop.

Great food too, and another one of the coolest coffee shops to study in Boston if you need a large space to feel at ease.

Best Laptop Friendly Cafes to Study in Boston: 1369 Coffee House

1369 Coffee House in Cambridge offers that rustic background so perfect when you’re looking for inspiring places to study in Boston.

And while the opening times are shorter in this Central Square cafe (7 am to 3 pm during weekdays, 8 am to 4 pm at weekends), the spot is dire perfection for students and freelancers looking to grind for a while.

There are plenty of seats at 1369 Coffee House, however, it is a very popular coffee shop to work in Boston, so make sure you come at the opening if possible.

Best Cafes to Work in Boston: 3 Little Figs

Away from Downtown Boston, and more precisely in Somerville, you have another good place to study – 3 Little Figs.

This is not the place where people joke with the quality of the food, since a baker cofounded 3 Little Figs, and you’ll also find amazing, amazing coffee there.

Italian coffee is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world (I do have an Italian moka tattooed on my forearm – and it means something to me!), and one of the only places to find coffee almost as amazing in Boston is at 3 Little Figs.

Free WiFi, a few power outlets, and lots of seating space end up making 3 Little Figs yet another one of the best coffee shops to study in Boston – and work the day away.

Best Coffee Shops to Study in Boston: Thinking Cup

Thinking Cup is a great study spot right across the park perfect if you want to take a break during the day and want to take in some nature.

WiFi tends to be a bit flakey there, however, you do have lots of solo tables and Thinking Cup is actually quite a large cafe, with lots of seats.

You’ll find there a few power outlets to charge your laptop and your phone while working the time away, but what makes Thinking Cup one of the best cafes to work in Boston clearly is the quality of their drinks.

From French hot chocolate to simple tea cups and Stumptown Coffee cups, you do have more to choose there than just what seat to settle at.
