Behold – the Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench 59 body butter has landed, and it might very well be one of the best body butters on the market at the moment!

Lovers of the Sol de Janeiro products rejoice on social media every time the brand announces a new release, with, shortly, the Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 59 body mist, which offers the same fragrance as Delicia Drench.

I count myself as one of the biggest fans of the Sol de Janeiro body mists, and while I mostly wear quite heavy vanilla-ey/oud/amber perfumes, these sprays are the only ones I’ve been wearing lately.

The Delicia Drench 59 body butter, released in December 2023 in the USA, is one of the latest products I’ve bought from Sol de Janeiro aside from the Brazilian Touch Hand Cream.

What are the best Sol de Janeiro products?

The first product that made Sol de Janeiro famous is the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, followed by lush, dreamy body mists.

One thing to pay attention to is that while all the Sol de Janeiro products are permanent, the brand sometimes discontinues scents, like the Cheirosa 39 body mist and the Coco Cabana cream.

You also often have limited edition scents, like the After Hours body mist – but if you fall in love with a scent, you might want to make sure it’s permanent first.

Ranking the Sol de Janeiro scents is really hard, as I feel like as soon as you love one, you want all of them.

My three favorites, though, are the Cheirosa 62, 40 and 68 body mists.

The Cheirosa 62 fragrance seems to be the most popular scent, given that you can also find it in the Brazilian Glossy Nourishing Hair Oil – and I could swear the lip butter has the same scent.

The Delicia Drench 59 body butter might have been released less than a month ago, but it’s already the talk of the town.

I myself, who doesn’t talk much about products I like aside from when I’m writing about them on the blog, haven’t been able to stop raving about this body butter.

Given the number of likes and comments on Sol de Janeiro’s social media regarding the Delicia Drench 59 body butter and the Cheirosa 59 body mist, one can easily see that this scent is quickly rising to become the newest bestseller.

The Delicia Drench body butter is meant to ‘relieve dry skin and repair moisture barrier’, and comes in two formats:

• Brazilian Soothing Complex: Calms stressed skin with an innovative blend of copaiba resin and passionflower seed oil.

When I say that the Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench body butter is one of the best products ever launched by the brand, that’s a euphemism.

Like with all the Sol de Janeiro products, we can find a blend of fragrance notes in the Delicia Drench 59 body butter, some of which would seemingly not really go together and still end up giving a strong, sweet, sugary, and floral result all at once.

Here are the fragrance notes of the Delicia Drench body butter:

Top: Velvet Plum, Sugared Violet​​ 
Mid: Vanilla Orchid​, Whipped Amber​​
Dry: Sheer Sandalwood, Fresh Vetiver​​

Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench 59 Body Butter Review: Thoughts

It’s no secret by now that I am in love with all the Sol de Janeiro scents, fragrances, body mists and whatnot.

Lately, I have taken to also using the Brazilian Kiss lip butter, which another great product to own from the brand, especially if you tend to have chapped lips easily.

I have lost track of how many amazing body butters I’ve used in my life, a lot of which came from The Body Shop.

Body butters usually have a texture that ranges from barely thicker than a body lotion, but in a pot, to a very hard butter texture which hardly melts into the skin.

The latter is the type of body butter I love, and I have to admit that with the Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench body butter, we have exactly the texture I’m so fond of.

The most important thing for me in a body butter, after the ingredients list and the scent, is that it does not leave a sticky icky feeling on the skin.

This is sadly a reason why I don’t use supermarket body butters anymore, and prefer going higher-end so I’m sure my skin is left moisturized without feeling sticky.

The first time I ever tried the Delicia Drench body butter was around 3 pm, and when I woke up the next morning, I could still smell the fragrance a little bit.

Usually, body butters don’t last that long on me, which is why I love strong scents – same thing goes with perfumes and body mists.

Needless to say, I was so impressed that even if I was already a big fan of the Sol de Janeiro fragrances, the Delicia Drench 59 body butter is the product that really did it for me.

If I had to rank the Sol de Janeiro products, both in terms of scent and texture, the Delicia Drench 59 body butter would be way up there.

First, really.

I’ve never been too much of a skincare girl and much prefer finding out about new makeup colors than new face creams – I do have a weakness for lip butters and body butters, though.

The mix of sweet and floral notes, the presence of vanilla, amber and orchid, and the fact that Delicia Drench leaves an incredibly hydrating scent on the skin for hours on end makes it now a staple of my limited skincare collection.
