If you’re a MAC Cosmetics addict, you’ll know that some of the best MAC lipstick shades – especially when you’re looking for a MAC lipstick that lasts all day are from the matte, retro matte, and satin collections.
That’s just the way it is, after all, really matte lipstick shades do last longer, and that’s a fact.
However, the MAC lipstick colors are formulated in such a way that even if you purchase lipstick from the Lustreglass, Cremesheen, or Amplified ranges, you’re going to find yourself with a still quite long-lasting lipstick.
If you’re after the most hydrating MAC lipstick for dry lips, these are the ranges you’re going to want to look at.
If you still really just want matte, I would suggest the Powder Kiss range, but that’s not what we’ll talk about today. I will write about the MAC Powder Kiss lipsticks soon, so stick around for that one though!

On Hold is one of my absolute favorite MAC lipstick shades, and with a color oscillating between red, pink, and coral lipstick, you’ve got a really nice shade for every skin tone.
I would most definitely recommend On Hold if you’re a redhead looking for a nice MAC lipstick, or if you have an Asian skin tone, as the warm undertones are absolutely stunning.
Since On Hold is part of the Cremesheen range, you’ve got a really balm-like texture and a color that is very easy to build up.
As such, you can really choose the intensity of your lipstick, and make it perfect for parties or to wear as an everyday MAC lipstick.

Best Moisturizing MAC Lipstick for Dry Lips: Hug Me

Hug Me is part of the Lustreglass range.
When I was working at MAC Cosmetics, both in Paris and in one of their makeup stores in London, that was one of the most popular lipstick colors I sold.
Hug Me is just one of the easiest-to-wear everyday MAC lipstick shades, and that’s a fact.
Whether you’re looking for the best MAC nude lipstick for fair skin, medium, brown, Asian or Indian skin, Hug Me just goes on every skin tone.
You’ve got something really sheer with it, which gives you the stunning scent that each MAC lipstick has, but with Hug Me, you’ve probably got the most neutral and most hydrating MAC lipstick for dry lips there is.
It just really gives this sheen and this healthy nude lip color, a kind of ‘my lips but better’ lipstick that can only be enhanced by the combination of a MAC lip liner like Spice, Chicory, or even Whirl depending on your skin tone.

Best MAC Lipstick Formula for Dry Lips: Paramount
Reddish-brown
Now if you’re looking for a moisturizing MAC lipstick that lasts all day, you’re going to love Paramount.
Paramount is one of my personal favorite MAC Satin lipsticks, and I love the fact that the color is so full and opaque when you apply it.
It might not be one of the most popular MAC lipstick shades, but Paramount was actually worn by Jennifer Aniston throughout the whole 10 seasons of Friends.
I don’t know about you, but that’s an argument I’ll take when I’m looking for a beautiful MAC nude lipstick for brown skin to dark skin tones.
I’ve always loved the way the red shines through the brown of the Paramount lipstick, and it is, in my opinion, one of the most unique MAC lipstick shades ever released.
Also, the best MAC lipstick formula as well, although if you’re looking for the most hydrating MAC lipstick for dry skin, you might want to look at the Cremesheen, Amplified, and Lustreglass lipsticks as well,

Most Hydrating MAC Lipstick for Dry Lips: Dozen Carnations
Intense warm tomato red
Dozen Carnations isn’t only one of the shades for the most hydrating MAC lipstick for dry lips (which goes with some of the best MAC lip liners for fair skin to Asian skin!), it’s also one of the most beautiful – and most underrated MAC red lipsticks.
I feel like it’s part of the same capsule collection as Sweet Sakura and Pretty Boy, and those three unusual red MAC lipstick colors are really stunning, glossy, and longlasting.
I haven’t worn Dozen Carnations that much, to be honest, I stayed close to my favorites.
On Hold and Crosswires, as well as Fanfare from time to time, are more suited if you’re looking for beautiful MAC coral lipsticks.
However, Dozen Carnations is perfect if you’re looking for stunning MAC lipstick for dark skin, all the way to very fair skin, including blondes and redheads.
Plus, the balmy texture and the shiny finish make it a real statement lipstick, perfect to make an entrance.

Best Moisturizing MAC Lipstick for Dry Lips: Syrup
Blue pink
Syrup, like Hug Me, is probably one of the most popular MAC lipstick shades in the Lustreglass range.
Where Hug Me is more brown-toned, Syrup seems like a Lustreglass dupe of the Mehr lipstick, and it’s perfect if you’re looking for hydrating MAC lipstick for olive skin tones, fair skin, and medium brown skin.
I have not worn many of the nude Lustreglass lipsticks; rather, I preferred to wear shades like Cockney, Lady Bug, and See Sheer, three of my favorites.
But if you’re ever looking for a MAC bridal lipstick shade, Syrup is probably one of the cutest – plus, you can use it even after the wedding is over.
I’ve also seen the Syrup lipstick worn in combination with the Soar lip liner, and if you’re looking for a moisturizing MAC lipstick for dry lips that lasts all day, then this combo might be the right one for you.

Best MAC Lipstick Formula for Dry Lips: Party Line
Red-toned plum
Party Line is another one of the MAC creamy lipsticks from the Cremesheen range; which means you’ve got a beautiful dark red lipstick in a balmy kind of finish, with extra shine.
It’s stunning to wear whether you’re after MAC lipsticks for Asian skin tones, Indian, dark, or fair – in my opinion, Party Line is one of those MAC lipstick shades that just go well on everyone.
Even I, as an NW15/NW20, would wear Party Line without any problem, as it’s got this perfect mix of red and purple.
It’s not so dark that if you have pale skin, it’ll look vamp, and not so light that dark skin tones can’t wear it.
Plus, if you’ve got dry lips, the Party Line lipstick really is a good moisturizing MAC lipstick for dry lips and it’s buildable, so you can choose the intensity to which you want to apply it.
And if you’re always on the lookout for the best MAC lipstick and lip liner combinations, you’re going to want to try it with Half Red, Plum, Burgundy, or even Chestnut on dark skin tones.

Most Hydrating MAC Lipstick for Dry Lips: Pretty Boy

Pretty Boy is, to be, the perfect mix between Crosswires, On Hold, and See Sheer.
You’ve got a Cremesheen lipstick, once again, which means Pretty Boy isn’t only one of the most beautiful MAC coral lipsticks, but it will be very hydrating if you have dry lips.
Perfect lasting time and I would recommend either wearing Pretty Boy in combination with a lip liner like Spice underneath, or maybe something a bit darker, like Cork, Redd, or Auburn to contrast this bright peach shade a little bit.
One of the best shades if you want to find the most hydrating MAC lipstick for dry lips, and perfect for a touch of color for every day.
Not to mention that if you’re after MAC lipsticks for the summer, Pretty Boy is indeed one of the cutest coral lipsticks around.

Best Moisturizing MAC Lipstick for Dry Lips: Business Casual
Warm red nude
Business Casual is one of the newest MAC lipstick colors released earlier in 2022 in the Lustreglass range.
With its shiny and moisturizing finish, I’d say it’s the best hydrating MAC lipstick for dry lips if you’re looking for a muted nude.
Not only that, but the color reminds me of Retro a lot, with a muted red nude color that looks good on absolutely every skin tone, from Asian to fair, and from Indian to dark skin tones.
Again, like all the Lustreglass lipsticks, you’ve got a sheerer MAC lipstick shade, but easily buildable.
If you want to make it a MAC lipstick that lasts all day throughout almost anything, I’d wear under Business Casual something like the Half Red, Cherry, or even Mahogany to make it even darker and warmer (especially for dark skin tones).

Most Hydrating MAC Lipstick for Dry Lips: Glossed and Found

If you’re a fan of the Cockney and Lady Bug lipsticks, you’re going to love Glossed and Found.
It’s another one of the shades released in the Lustreglass range at the beginning of 2022, and the difference between these three lipsticks is that Glossed and Found is a tad darker and a bit more brown than Cockney and Lady Bug.
All three are amazing if you’re looking for a moisturizing MAC lipstick for dry lips, and the upside is that it can really suit any skin tone.
As an olive skin with my little NW15, I would definitely wear the Glossed and Found lipstick without any problem.
If you have an Asian or Indian skin tone, dark skin, or fair skin, Glossed and Found is probably one of the most hydrating MAC lipstick shades if you’re after beautiful red lipstick.

Best Moisturizing MAC Lipstick for Dry Lips: Spice it Up
Brown berry
Spice it Up, from the Lustreglass range, is one of the darker red lipsticks in the collection, and while it’s described as a ‘brown berry’, it will most definitely look dark red on fair skin tones.
You only really start to see the berry side of the lipstick on darker skin tones, which is perfect if you’re just looking for a touch of color to wear as an everyday lipstick.
The Lustreglass finish really is the best lipstick formula if you’re looking for the most hydrating MAC lipstick for dry lips, as we’ve seen that there are indeed lots of amazing colors to choose from.
I have personally found that the Lustreglass lipsticks have this sheen to them, almost comparable to a gloss finish.
When I wear a lip liner underneath – I would wear Burgundy or Chestnut under Spice it Up, I’ve found that not only my lips are way less dry, but the finish is really eye-catching.

Most Hydrating MAC Lipstick for Dry Lips: See Sheer
Grapefruit pink
I told you in my guide to the best MAC peach lipsticks that See Sheer is my absolute favorite MAC lipstick for dry lips.
Not only does it wear amazingly well on Asian skin all the way up to dark skin, but almost anyone can wear See Sheer.
If you love the color but aren’t sure it’s going to look good on you, I’d definitely go for a little classic MAC lipstick and lip liner combo with Spice underneath, or something a bit redder, like the Ruby Woo or Cherry lip liners.
All in all, See Sheer, being from the Lustreglass range, is probably the best hydrating lipstick for dry lips if you want a bit of a very wearable color.
In any case, we’ve got here the perfect MAC lipstick for Asian skin, and fair skin with warm undertones, and I have a feeling even redheads with freckles would look stunning with See Sheer, as the Lustreglass finish gives it a bit of extra oomph.

Best Moisturizing MAC Lipstick for Dry Lips: Verve
Muted brownish-plum
The MAC Verve lipstick is from the same range as Paramount and is another one of the perfect everyday MAC lipstick shades for just about anyone from fair skin tones to brown skin.
We’ve got another one of the Satin lipsticks, with a semi-matte finish, and the interesting thing about Verve is the mix of brown, purple, and pink in the color.
If you consider one of the best MAC lipsticks to be Twig, also a Satin lipstick, you’re probably going to love Verve.
Also, if you’re used to wearing Retro, Verve is kind of similar, just more plum and muted while Retro has more red in it.
In any case, I have felt for many years that Verve is one of the best shades of moisturizing MAC lipstick for dry lips if you want to go for a kind of matte finish.
And if you are after a MAC lipstick for medium skin, you’re definitely going to love it.
