The complete review of the Level 8 Road Runner Pro Carry On luggage – sturdy, light, practical, it’s a digital nomad must-have!
Months ago, I discovered what turned out to be the most efficient luggage company I’d ever used products from, Level 8.
I like efficient.
Especially when I’m traveling back and forth from Rome to London, Paris and other cities that pique my interest.
I collaborated a few times, trying out different suitcases from the brand whenever I was traveling, with my favorites being the bright yellow ones from the Voyageur Set.
Level 8 Road Runner Pro Carry-On, A Digital Nomad Must-Have

Over the past few months, as I was traveling from Rome to Paris to see friends and family, I used the Road Runner Pro Carry-On a lot.
Sleek and sturdy, it’s one of the models I love the most from the brand… And I’ve used many of them.
The Road Runner is really enjoyable to travel with, if only for the fact that it glides oh, so effortlessly alongside you when you’re walking around with it.
But that’s far from being it – there’s so much more to love.
Level 8: Brand Story & Concept

USA-based Level 8 is a brand whose concept I very much find myself in, and I guess as the world picks up the pace ever more, everyone is looking for more efficiency and products that make our lives easier.
Whether it be a long lasting matte lipstick, a quick-dry T-shirt or a sturdy suitcase, I find myself looking for products that, in the long term, will be extra-reliable.
Level 8’s idea revolves around creating products which are not only durable and high-quality, but also minimalist and, most importantly, functional and reliable.
Level 8 Road Runner Pro Carry-On: Aesthetics

The Road Runner Pro carry-on suitcase comes in three colors; grey, stone and charcoal, all three of which are slightly textured, and both look and feel amazing.
Here’s what Level 8 says about the Road Runner Pro Carry-on:
Meet the Road Runner Pro Carry-on, your new journey companion. Designed for the bold at heart, this carry-on suitcase is where durable German-made Makrolon® polycarbonate meets sleek craftsmanship. From the airport hustle to the cobblestone streets of Europe, its 360° spinner wheels move as fluidly as you do. With Level8, you’re not just traveling – you’re making a statement.
At the top of the carry-on, a TSA-approved lock is built-in to keep our belongings safe, but where the Road Runner makes its case, it’s with the padded front pocket.
Now, out of all the Level 8 suitcases I have, including the Luminous Textured luggage, none of them include a front pocket, which opens with two buttons pressed together, and so easy to use that all you want to do is to keep opening it only to then close it.
The front pocket is perfectly-sized to hold a Macbook Air (13 inch is the one I use, and fits in perfectly), as well as power cords, chargers, medium-sized notebooks and whatnot.
On the outside of the suitcase, which definitely makes it even more digital nomad-friendly, is the built-in USB port, which you can use to charge a power bank, for instance.
A couple more features include:
- Materials: German-made Makrolon® polycarbonate
- Dimensions: 14.4”L x 9.2”W x 21.5”H (37 x 23.5 x 55 cm – perfect for overhead compartments in airplanes)
- Weight: 9.3lbs (4.2kg)
- Capacity: 35L

Level 8 Road Runner Pro Carry-On: Inside

If the outside of the Road Runner is already admirably sturdy, thanks to its super-light Makrolon® polycarbonate, the inside of the carry-on is just as cool.
Spacious, it features two smaller compartments as you zip one of the sides, in which I usually put small toiletries and various documents if needed.

Level 8 Road Runner Pro Carry-On: Thoughts

The only downside I see to the Road Runner Pro carry-on, really, is that after using my Voyageur and Grace Lugagge Set, I have fallen in love with their somewhat different colors.
Indeed, I have the Grace suitcases in Champagne, and the Voyageur ones in a bright mustard yellow, and these make it easy to find whenever I have to pick up my luggage after a flight.
However, the features of the Road Runner carry-on go beyond anything I’ve ever experienced before, especially when it comes to that super useful front pocket and the built-in USB port.
PS. There is also another Road Runner carry-on available, if you’d like something aesthetically catchier, and this time comes in navy, black and grey – textured or not, both models are gorgeous.

Level 8 Road Runner Pro Carry-On, A Digital Nomad Must-Have

If there’s something I still haven’t mentioned about the Level 8 Road Runner carry-on, it’s the 360-degree spinning wheels – they’re just as quiet as the ones from other Level 8 suitcases I’ve used.
As a serious traveler, and as a digital nomad on the ready to move to another country in a couple of weeks, the Road Runner luggage is, well, perfect.
This one only comes in a carry-on size, but whether you’re also a digital nomad or need a reliable suitcase for business trips, I just have to say ‘Go for it’.
And, since I’ve also used to Packing Cubes from Level 8, and they’re still the ones I take with me on every single trip, do check these out as well to pack your suitcase like a pro.
Until next time!
