A complete review of the new Level 8 Hegent carry-on, an aesthetic and sturdy suitcase perfect for digital nomad life and business trips!
The digital nomad life is one I’ve been living in London, Rome, Paris, and a few other cities across the world – and in the past year, the only suitcases I’ve been using are the Level 8 suitcases.
This brand I’ve come to know very well ever since I first tried the Grace luggage set, in its gorgeous, soft champagne color, keeps releasing ultra-sturdy and ever-so-reliable pieces of luggage, and I, for one, keep falling in love with each new release.
Level 8 Hegent Carry On, A Digital Nomad’s Perfect Suitcase

The Level 8 Hegent carry-on suitcase is the latest piece of luggage I’ve received for review from the brand, and at first sight, it reminded me a lot of one of my favorites ever from the brand, the Gibraltar Aluminum suitcase.
Before we go deeper into my first thoughts and impressions of the Hegent carry-on, here’s what Level 8 says about this new perfect piece:
The Level8 Executive Carry-On blends adjustable convenience with a four-stage telescopic handle and effortless mobility with its ultra-quiet 360° spinner wheels. Inside, keep your belongings organized with our X-strap compression system and secure laptop sleeve.
Designed for business travel, the Executive combines a built-in aluminum frame with a durable impact-resistant polycarbonate exterior. Travel in confidence with our dual TSA-approved lock and enjoy our comfortable, easy-grip rubber handle.
Level 8: Brand Story & Concept

Based in New York, Level 8 is a quite new brand, since it was established in 2015 – despite how young it is, it seems like the brand has started hitting hard ever since its first releases.
I have tried many of their models, and am currently loving a few more than the others, since they suit my digital nomad lifestyle the best.
For instance, my mustard yellow and black Voyageur set is a pair of two ultra-sturdy suitcases I’ve been rolling across several countries, from Rome to London, and from London to Paris… and soon, back to Rome.
The Luminous Textured set is another beautiful set, matte black, with tiny diamond shapes and a solid, oh-so-solid case that looks and feels unbreakable, ever.

Level 8 Hegent Carry-On: Aesthetics and Details

Now, when it comes to the Level 8 Hegent carry-on, the newest-comer from the brand, I have found some features that almost of the Level 8 suitcases offer.
That includes the following:
- Durable German-made Makrolon® polycarbonate – the frame of the Hegent carry-on is, in addition, made of Aerospace-grade aluminum magnesium alloy
- Ultra-quiet 360° Spinner Wheels
- Dual TSA-approved Zipperless Lock

Level 8 Hegent Carry-On: Thoughts

If you’ve read a few of my Level 8 suitcase reviews in the past, you already know I love each and every one of the Level 8 products.
However, depending on my traveling needs, I would rather pick this one or that one: for instance, when I took a business trip to London last December, I used the Gibraltar suitcase.
For another short trip related to work, again, I used the Road Runner Pro suitcase, since it also offers a USB port – something so rare in carry-ons!
When I moved countries, I mostly used the Voyageur set and am planning to also use the Hegent carry-on in addition to those for my next move back to Rome.
The Hegent carry-on, with its 10 lbs empty, might feel heavy, but it’s absolutely not, and like my other Level 8 suitcases, seems to glide on water when it’s rolling next to me – even when it’s full.

Level 8 Hegent Carry On, A Digital Nomad’s Perfect Suitcase

With this new Level 8 suitcase, I feel like we’ve got the best of both worlds: the digital nomad world, the traveler’s world, but also the business world, with the aluminum frame.
The Hegent carry-on looks dapper, at the crossroads between a business suitcase (like the Gibraltar carry-on) and the perfect piece of luggage for a digital nomad (like the beautiful Luminous Textured set) – and I’m definitely here for it.
Until next time!
