Moving around the world, living in hostels and traveling nonstop has taught me one thing; you need to know how to pack your suitcase properly.

You need to know how to move around, you need to know how to only take what’s necessary and more importantly, when you’re choosing international travel gear, you need to choose the best.

A while back, The Working Line was contacted by Level 8, a New York City-based travel gear brand to try out a couple of their luggage sets, and since I fell in utter love with the Grace Luggage Set, I thought a full review was in order!

Now, it’s true I had been using the same suitcase for years and had been in search of more sophisticated suitcases without really knowing what to pick.

That’s why I was excited to try the Level 8 Grace Luggage Set, especially when I saw it came in several colors – and the Champagne set definitely matched what I was looking for!

I’ve been living in London and Rome for a few years now, doing more round trips than I can recall, and have also lived, this year only, in Barcelona and Istanbul as well.

Needless to say, I know international travel, I know how to pack a backpack for only a few days, and I know how to pack a suitcase when I need to move for a few months.

Since I was sent both the Grace Luggage Set in Champagne and the Packing Cubes, I’m going to review both thoroughly.

Level 8 was established in 2008 in New York City, with a collection of sophisticated suitcases ranging from champagne to bright yellow and pink suitcases.

Luggage tags, laptop backpacks, packing cubes, single suitcases, and luggage sets; the brand provides all we could ever need to travel safely and comfortably.

Traveling is stressful, isn’t it.

Planning a trip is one of the most enjoyable moments I can think of, but when it comes to security at the airport and finding my Airbnbs, it always feels like hell.

Not exciting at all, just stressful.

I love discovering new hidden gems in London or Barcelona, and I love being on the spot, but the whole traveling process is something I’ve always considered unhinging.

Quite funny for a digital nomad, right?

That’s where Level 8 comes into play; even before you leave home to travel to London, Rome, NYC, or Dubai, you’re already set with suitcases that actually hold your hand.

Level 8 Grace Luggage Set in Champagne Review: Details & Information

In the Level 8 Grace Luggage Set, you have three suitcases:

one expandable 20″ carry-on suitcase
one 24″ checked suitcase
and one 28″ checked suitcase

Like the Luminous Textured set previously reviewed on the blog, the Grace luggage set features four 360-degree spinner wheels which really come in handy when your suitcase is fully packed and heavy.

The texture of these suitcases is incredible – it just feels posh, that’s really the perfect word to describe them.

Champagne is a good color name for these; depending on the light, they look like a soft gold color.

Not too much in any way, the epitome of sophistication.

Other features of the Level 8 Grace Luggage set include:

An anti-scratch hard shell made of PC+ABS materials, with a 3-layer micro-diamond textured surface
A TSA-approved combination lock, set at 0000 when you first receive it (and instructions to explain how to set your own combination)
Multiple pockets in the carry-on luggage, including dividers and a vertical opening with a laptop part

The carry-on in the Grace Luggage set is probably my favorite – while I do travel a lot, I am at the time of writing based in Rome.

As such, I use carry-on suitcases every other month when traveling to Troyes, my hometown, or London.

What is most enjoyable about the carry-on suitcase from the Grace Luggage set is the fact that beyond the normal opening of the suitcase, you also have a vertical opening in the front with many pockets.

In these, you can store electronic devices like a laptop, cords, and small items you don’t want to lose in the larger parts of the suitcase.

Level 8 Grace Luggage Set in Champagne Review: Aesthetics and Final Thoughts

I do have to admit that I’ve never owned such a beautiful set of suitcases; I am the kind of person who lives on the go but has never really taken the time to look into the perfect luggage set for me.

Packing a suitcase or a backpack is something I know how to do very well.

However, when it comes to actually packing to travel comfortably, it’s not something I am used to doing – and of course, I end up losing my items at the bottom of my suitcase.

I am, however, always in awe of sophisticated products; and I couldn’t have wished for a prettier suitcase set.

Indeed, the Level 8 Grace Luggage Set in Champagne is currently one of the most beautiful items I own.

If you don’t count in my nude MAC lipsticks, that is.

What is especially interesting about the Grace suitcases is the details – the corners are protected, and the handles and wheels are sturdy, as is the combination lock.

It’s safe to say that when you get such a quality product, it will last you years and years.

And that’s something that I, as a digital nomad, need in my life: reliable travel gear.

But if I may, if you don’t know how to pack, then getting packing cubes along with the Grace luggage set feels like a good idea so you don’t get mad once you arrive at your destination.

The Packing Cube Travel Set signed Level 8 is another absolutely practical item to get when you travel often.

When I became a blogger and a freelance writer, I have to say I knew basically nothing about travel gear – I would just store everything as I could and didn’t care about learning how to pack.

Big mistake, especially when you live in a hostel and have to be more organized with your belongings for safety purposes.

Here’s what Level 8 says about their Packing Cube Travel set:
