If there’s one rainbow eyeshadow palette I would recommend anyone, it’s the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette.

There’s not one Jeffree Star palette that comes even close to the quality and creativity of this palette, and I stand by it.

Like many of my beautiful Colourpop eyeshadow palettes and Juvia’s Place palettes, I should never have gotten this one.

But you know it, I know it, when you browse makeup websites like Beauty Bay, it’s kind of hard to resist.

There are just so many amazing makeup brands there, includiing the Italian makeup brand Nabla Cosmetics, that even if you don’t get anything today, the thought will linger in your mind.

That’s how I got this palette, and I used to use it a lot when I did makeup on photoshoots.

Heck, it was one of the only super colorful and pastel eyeshadow palettes I would take with me to create rainbow looks!

So today, prepare to read the complete Jeffree Star Jawbreaker review with swatches – and I promise you, you’re going to fall in love with it!

If I remember well, the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette was released sometime in 2018 or 2019 – that’s when I posted the review on one of my old makeup blogs.

I was astounded by the number of bright eyeshadows in there, to be honest.

Jeffree Star has many different eyeshadow palettes available, but no color story comes close to this one.

If you’re the kind of person who likes really metallic eyeshadows, you’ll love it.

Oh, but you also want some pastel eyeshadows in there?

And a good selection of red and orange eyeshadows?

That’s the one.

The reason why the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette was the one I was bringing on so many photoshoots is that many of the yellow, pink, orange and red eyeshadows in this one can be used as blushes too.

If you’re a regular user of the Juvia’s Place or Beauty Bay eyeshadow palettes, that’s the same reason why I love them: their versatility.

Being a makeup artist means having to carry a kit with you everywhere you go, and believe me, it does get heavy.

A suitcase helps, but the size just makes you want to keep putting one more palette, one more brush set inside, ‘just in case’.

In the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette, another thing to highlight is the great balance between warm toned and cool toned eyeshadows.

So far, this is one of the biggest Jeffree Star eyeshadow palettes ever released, and indeed, even if I brought this one everywhere I went, I never hit the pan of any of the colors inside.

When it’s spring and summer, the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette clearly is very easy to use.

If you’d like to discover how many looks you can create with the Jawbreaker palette, I’d say the possibilities are endless.

While it does look like an almost unwearable rainbow palette at first sight, there are plenty of brown, pink, beige and overall neutral eyeshadows in this palette.

This makes it a pretty easy to use palette in the end.

What I used to do with the Jawbreaker palette a lot was mixing some of the Inglot Duraline with the metallic eyeshadows to create metallic eyeliners.

The red, orange, yellow, purple and pink eyeshadows were all used to create blushes – either on their own, or mixed with other colors in the palette.

The first row of the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette contains two neutral and white eyeshadows perfect for transition.

Also perfect just to fix some concealer, should you be used to applying concealer to block your lid color before the eyeshadow.

The second row is much more of that 60s and 70s kind of vibe, with really pretty pastel eyeshadows.

All utterly pigmented, might I add – these are indeed some of the best pastel eyeshadows I’ve ever come across.

The third row is my absolute favorite, simply because of those ultra metallic red, orange and pink eyeshadows.

The orange eyeshadow in particular is one I ended up using a lot as a blush on medium and dark skin tones.

In the last row, you have more neutral eyeshadows, along with a stunning metallic yellow eyeshadow.

Finding a really pigmented yellow is not that easy, and I could say the same about the beautiful deep, almost blue toned purple eyeshadow next to it.

The only eyeshadow in the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette that actually lets down a little bit is the dark matte blue in the bottom row, but it does apply pretty well on the eyes.

Just make sure you use a colored eyeshadow primer underneath to really make it pop.

What type of blush can I wear with the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette?

When it comes to what blush you can wear with the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette, we’re not going to linger.

All the blushes you might need are already inside the palette, so whether you’re looking for a blush for Asian skin, black skin or really pale skin, you really have them all.

The only advice I can give you about these is that since they’re eyeshadows, they’re overly pigmented.

So, light hand when you apply the blush, and blow off the excess eyeshadow off your brush before applying!

What type of lipstick can I wear with the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette?

There are many types of different lipsticks you could wear with the Jawbreaker eyeshadow palette.

If you go for one of the cool toned eyeshadows and try to create a colorful look, you could go for a nude pink lipstick, just to be safe.

However, if you go for something just nude, with the shade Snack (nude eyeshadow in the second row) with the burgundy eyeshadow Raspberry (third row), then you could play around with brighter lipstick shades, like the MAC All Fired Up lipstick, for instance.

With the really pastel eyeshadows, like the mint eyeshadow Cute, I would probably go contrast with one of the most famous MAC brown lipsticks

None other than the Whirl lipstick, to really stay in that type of cool-toned, spring vibe yet retro type of look.

Also, there’s one of the beautiful Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks, in the shade The Queen, a really bright, summery pink lipstick which could look really great with some of the cherry-toned and orange eyeshadows if you wanted to go for a Coachella look!
