I’ve told you so many times about Bread Ahead Bakery in Wembley that it’s no secret I think this is one of the it-spots for the best doughnuts in London.
Back when I used to live in West Hampstead, I used to pop by the London Designer Outlet quite often to get new cheap Yankee Candles, Kurt Geiger bags, clothes and really affordable makeup.
In a word, I love this area.
If you’re planning to go see a match at the Wembley Stadium or go shopping around, I thought this new Bread Ahead Wembley review could come in handy.
Or, if you’re traveling to London, going cheap shopping and would love to enjoy some of the best bread, pains au chocolat, breads and hot beverages around…
That’s the spot!
Bread Ahead Wembley, London’s Tastiest Rustic Bakery – London Food Review
Bread Ahead Bakery is opening more and more locations around London, and while I’ve already written a review of their Borough Market branch, the Wembley bakery is amazing if you’re looking to chill for a while.
That’s very much the spot where you can bring a book shopped at one of London’s most beautiful bookshops, or scribble on your notebook for some time.
In this review of Bread Ahead Wembley, I’ll break down the menu, the prices as well as my thoughts about what I ordered – enjoy!
Bread Ahead Bakery London Locations
There are currently four Bread Ahead Bakery locations in London:
- One in Borough Market that I’ve reviewed for you a while back
- One in Wembley, about 5 min away from the London Designer Outlet and Wembley Park station
- One in South Kensington
- And one a few minutes from Sloane Square station
They all boast a different vibe – for instance, Bread Ahead Borough Market feels more street food, while the Wembley Park branch feels very much posh and, lemme say it, almost French.
Bread Ahead Wembley London Decor
A mix of materials such as wood, metal and marble makes Bread Ahead Bakery in Wembley one of the cutest bakeries in London.
The bakery slash coffee shop is quite large, and I’ve actually told you a few times that I also do consider it to be a perfect cafe to work in Wembley since you have all the space you might be wishing for.
Greenery inside the bakery blends to perfection with crisp white tiles and upon entering this Bread Ahead branch, I did feel the wow effect – big time.
It’s just huge – one of the biggest bakeries in London I’ve been given to visit so far.
It feels rustic and industrial at the same time, and if you’re the kind of person who loves a chill, laidback vibe, you’ll probably come back again and again.

Bread Ahead Bakery Wembley Menu
You’ll basically find the same items in all the Bread Ahead Bakery locations in London, but one thing to remember is that you’re served both stunning savory goods and incredible pastries.
I already knew Bread Ahead Bakery in Borough Market before visiting, since they used to have one stand inside the market as well as their shop and bakery school on the outside.
Well, it took me ages to understand there was indeed that shop on the outside and that you could buy many kinds of bread, biscuits and pastries there.
It’s also true that at the Borough Market branch, I have purchased countless doughnuts as well as their unforgettable cheese and olive bread sticks.
Upon entering Bread Ahead Wembley, you can really notice the difference in size (if you’ve visited the Borough Market branch), as well as the great number of tables, many of which are free at any given time.
From doughnuts to some of the best muffins in London, Bread Ahead really offers that variety that would make you come back for any kind of craving.
The Bread Ahead Bakery doughnuts are their bestselling item, and it’s easy to understand why when you bite into that chewy, doughy, sweet and satisfying ball of goodness.
Any limited edition doughnuts you’d find at the Borough Market branch – much easier to access since London Bridge is Central London, while Wembley Park is in West London – you will find at Wembley too.
Chocolate, vanilla, raspberry jam and sea salted caramel/honeycomb are some of the classic Bread Ahead doughnuts, and you’ll certainly find other varieties depending on the time of the day and the season.

Bread Ahead Bakery Wembley Prices
When it comes to the prices, Bread Ahead Bakery dominates the upper part of the budget spectrum – a doughnut costs £4.50 to eat in.
Coupled with a hot drink, it’s easily £7/8 you spend when you come for a snack, and about £20 for a burger, a fresh juice and a pastry.
However, it’s also interesting to note that the flavors are there.
They are truthfully, gorgeously there.
One thing to remember, though, is that there are no vegan doughnuts available at Bread Ahead Bakery yet.
That is a shame as a good, hearty vegan recipe would provide lots of people in London with amazing snacks.

Bread Ahead Bakery Review – What I Ordered
What I love doing when I’m walking around pretty neighborhoods in London is to let the day carry me.
If I’m not being productive with the blog, working on Pinterest and Flipboard all day every day, then I will just hop on any Tube or bus and see what tickles my fancy.
I have to admit I also love going shopping in London, so when I used to live in West Hampstead, I’d find myself at the London Designer Outlet quite often.
When I first realized there was a Bread Ahead in Wembley, I had to get a doughnut, and since coffee is my jam, there was no overthinking my order.
I mean, wherever I go, whether it be a Starbucks, a Pret or a Caffè Nero, a latte is what I’m getting.
So, I ordered the classic vanilla custard doughnut because it had been a while since I had one of the classic Bread Ahead flavors, as well as a fabulous latte.
The last time I visited the Borough Market branch, I had gotten a coconut and a pistachio doughnut, and it felt good to get back to the basics.

My first thought was that the doughnuts had decreased in size, to be honest, compared to the first times I visited the Borough Market branch.
I then realized that the price was a tad lower than Bread Ahead Borough Market, simply because the whole London Bridge area is so touristy, I guess.
By the way, even if there are lots of cool things to do in London Bridge, honestly, a visit to Bread Ahead has got to be on your list if you have a sweet tooth.
The doughnut was very fluffy, creamy, and provided all the goodness you’d expect from such a beautiful bakery.

The latte tasted like utter freshness, a whole good cup of thick milk and strong coffee, and perfect to sip on while studying or reading a good book.
I did ask the waitress if it was okay for people to just bring their laptops and start working, to which she answered there was absolutely no issue.
Actually, a couple of people were working on their laptop when I arrived and seemed to have planned to stay quite a while longer – good to know if you like finding new study cafes as much as I do!

Bread Ahead Wembley, London’s Tastiest Rustic Bakery – London Food Review
There you have it, my complete review of Bread Ahead Bakery Wembley – a great new spot to try if you’re willing to eat fresh bread, decadent doughnuts, muffins, and various viennoiseries!
Bread Ahead Bakery is not French, however, some of their items remind me of those you’d find in French patisseries in London, like their pains au chocolat and various baguettes.
Although the prices are not that low, it’s still one of the coolest cheap eats in London if you’re just down to spend a tenner while roaming around the London Designer Outlet and Wembley Stadium!
Until next time!
