A local’s guide to the best Paddington bear locations in London, from colorful Chalcot Crescent to afternoon tea and an immersive experience in Southbank!
Just like Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and Shakespeare, the Paddington bear’s been an iconic London figure ever since the first movie was released in 2014.
If you’re looking for cartoon and movie locations to build your own quirky London itinerary, or if you’re visiting London with kids, this guide will very much come in handy.
From an enticing immersive experience to a huge, colorful mural and more secret spots than you thought possible, these are all the best spots to find the Paddington bear in London.
Where to Find Paddington Bear in London: 8 Spots to Visit

Over the years, I’ve shared here lots of movie and bookish locations here on The Working Line – and I don’t intend to stop anytime soon.
This guide will take you through hidden streets in West London, to the colorful Chalcot Crescent and Chalcot Square in posh Primrose Hill, and even in the very heart of Leicester Square.
I can’t stress enough how excited I am to be finally sharing these locations; if you’re willing to go on a full movie itinerary in London, these spots are a great place to start!
Places to Find Paddington Bear in London: Bench on Connaught St, West London

The first stop we’re going to visit to find the Paddington bear in London is Connaught Street in Connaught Village, West London, one of the quietest and poshest areas in the city.
This statue is part of the Paddington Visits trail, which comprises 23 statues placed across the UK and Ireland, originally created to celebrate the release of Paddington in Peru.
While the bench was originally unveiled outside 28 Connaught Street, it was moved in 2025 to a permanent new location on Connaught Village Green.
It’s a local attraction, but it’s also a great way to explore a village-like corner of London that goes unnoticed on most typical itineraries of the city.
Places to Find Paddington Bear in London: Bench in Leicester Square, Central London

The Leicester Square Sculpture Trail is one of my favorite things to do when I’m in Central London because you’ll find sculptures depicting famous actors and characters like Mary Poppins, Harry Potter, Mr. Bean, or Charlie Chaplin right in the heart of Leicester Square.
You’ll also find the Paddington Bear statue sitting, dressed in his signature red hat and duffel coat, enjoying a marmalade sandwich as per usual.
This specific Paddington statue commemorates the film premieres of Paddington and Paddington 2, released in 2014 and 2017, both of which had events in Leicester Square.
When you’re done admiring this sculpture and the others around it, I recommend taking a moment to check out the Shakespeare statue right in the middle of the square.
After that, you can wander around Piccadilly for gorgeous bookshops like Hatchards or Maison Assouline, or even pop by Chinatown Bakery for some of the sweetest cheap eats in the city, including fluffy peanut or coconut cakes.
Where to Find Paddington Bear in London: Afternoon Tea at Brigit’s Bakery Bus Tour

I’ve mentioned Brigit’s Bakery quite a few times here, namely because this is one of the cutest pink coffee shops in London, located close to Covent Garden Piazza.
If you’re visiting London with kids, I would recommend taking a break here for Paddington Afternoon Tea, which takes place on a vintage double-decker Routemaster bus themed around Paddington Bear.
On the tour, you can enjoy sweet and savory treats, including Paddington’s favorite marmalade sandwiches.
Whether you follow a vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or halal diet, Brigit’s Bakery caters to all.
The tour runs daily, circling famous London landmarks like Hyde Park, Westminster Abbey, and Big Ben, while blending animation featuring Paddington Bear and Mrs Bird.
Places to Find Paddington Bear in London: Paddington Shop inside Paddington Station, West London

Visiting London in the Paddington area without popping by the Paddington Shop inside Paddington Station would feel kind of strange, in my opinion.
There are a few Paddington bear hints and highlights throughout the station, but the shop itself is a dedicated space located on Platform 1, right beside the Paddington Bear statue.
Inside, you’ll find all kinds of merch, souvenirs and gifts, including plush toys, collectibles, key rings, badges, accessories, and even special Lost and Found collections, as well as official Paddington marmalade jars.
The shop is open every day of the week from 10 AM to 6 PM and is easy to find, making it a perfect stop if you’re looking for Paddington-themed gifts for the kiddos.
Places to Find Paddington Bear in London: Paddington Statue inside Paddington Station, West London

As mentioned right above, there is a Paddington Bear statue inside Paddington Station in West London.
This is a life-size bronze sculpture designed by artist Marcus Cornish. Paddington is depicted sitting on his suitcase, wearing his beloved hat, with a little tag around his neck that reads, “Please look after this bear. Thank you.”
The statue was originally unveiled in 2000 and sits on Platform 1, right under the station clock – this is actually where it all began in the fictional story, as Paddington arrives at the station and is discovered by the Brown family.
Those wandering around London with kids will find this one of the most popular photo spots in the city when it comes to Paddington, as unmissable as the official shop.
Places to Find Paddington Bear in London: Paddington Mural, Sutton Walk, Outside Waterloo Station

I can’t recall exactly how many times I’ve mentioned Southbank in the past, but it’s still one of my favorite neighborhoods in London.
It’s lively, filled with restaurants, cute cafes, and concept stores, with straight views on the Thames river.
In October 2024, a new Paddington Bear location appeared on Sutton Walk, just outside Waterloo Station.
The multicolor mural was created by London-based Peruvian artist Gisella Stapleton; a huge mural, standing 8 meters tall, featuring a colorful portrait of Paddington Bear tipping his iconic red hat.
There’s also one of Paddington’s most famous quotes displayed: Mrs. Brown says, “In London, everyone’s different, and that means anyone can fit in.”
When you’re done taking pictures, I recommend wandering around Lower Marsh, a stunning village-like area, or making your way back down to Waterloo Bridge’s secondhand book market.
You can also continue further down to the Globe Theatre, one of the most famous Shakespeare locations, right on the Southbank, or visit Brand Academy, a super unique shop with quirky gifts!
Places to Find Paddington Bear in London: Paddington Bear Experience, Southbank

It’s no secret that London is filled with immersive experiences, and one of the latest is the Paddington Bear Experience, which also takes place on Southbank, at London’s County Hall.
The adventure invites us to step into Paddington’s world, helping him and the Brown family prepare for the Marmalade Day Festival.
It’s an amazing spot to visit with children and is open every day from 10 AM to 6 PM.

If you’re only looking for free things to do in London, this one is a bit more of a steep budget, with adult tickets from £34 and children’s tickets from £24 for ages 2 to 15.
However, if you’re visiting London for the first time, this is an experience you shouldn’t miss, just a short walk from the London Eye, the River Thames, and Waterloo Station, and surrounded by hidden gems.
Places to Find Paddington Bear in London: Chalcot Crescent, Primrose Hill, North London

The last Paddington bear spot I have to mention in London is Chalcot Crescent in Primrose Hill, North London, not too far from Camden Town.
It continues to serve as the iconic filming location for the Brown family home in the Paddington movies.
You’d be hard-pressed to find a more picturesque, colorful spot in the city, although Chalcot Square further down the road is also pretty colorful in its own way.
It’s a quiet, winding street with a row of Grade II-listed Victorian terraced houses that, in the Paddington movies, is depicted as the famous 32 Windsor Gardens – easy to reach from Camden Town or Chalk Farm stations.
Where to Find Paddington Bear in London: 8 Spots to Visit

There you have them, the best, most picturesque Paddington bear locations in London; you’ll hopefully have found here lots of new spots to visit while you’re in town!
My favorite spots are the mural near Waterloo Station and Chalcot Crescent; I’ve always been one to love instagrammable places, and these definitely are it.
When you’re done taking a Paddington bear walk, why not discover other cartoonish or nerdy places in the city, like the Alice in Wonderland bookshop near Leicester Square?
Or, if you’d like to discover something completely different, these are a few London guides I can’t recommend enough:
