While the digital camera I’m about to review with you has gone viral on TikTok and Pinterest, I didn’t know about it until after I purchased it – when it comes to cool Temu finds, that’s probably one of the best I’ve come across.
I usually place a couple of orders for new home decor, organizers and basic clothing like bodysuits and tops about once or twice a month, and I couldn’t wait for this camera to reach me.
I have been using it for a few days now, and from specs to aesthetics, I will share with you all I have learned and understood from using it!
Temu Finds: Viral Digital Camera Brings 2000s Back

My primary goal when getting a new digital camera was to use it for travel blogging – I have been blogging for over a decade now, and have caught myself missing the 2000s aesthetic ever more lately.
I was born in 1994, which means I was just a teen when I received my first digital camera – a pink Nikon Coolpix camera, which went on to set the tone for my love for photography.
Even if I did love this camera, I have been shopping on Temu so much that I came to wonder whether digital cameras were available on the app… and they are.
Many of them, actually.
The one I got, model DC403, comes in three colors: mint green, which I’ve gotten, baby pink, and black, and are available to purchase with or without a bag.
Now, this one here appears to have been priced at around $20 on Temu, Shein and other TikTok shops before it went viral – I got it for 48 euros without the bag.
It still comes with a soft fabric pouch to protect it, and since I place it in one of my tiny Kurt Geiger Kensington handbags more often than not, I didn’t see the point of getting a bigger bag for the camera.
Temu Digital Camera Review: Aesthetics and Specs

Aesthetics of the Temu Digital Camera DC403
The digital camera in itself is really cute, that’s for sure – quite sturdy, with maybe the battery bit feeling a tad fragile.
The mint color is soft, shimmery, and definitely brings you back to summer in the 2000s, back when fruity lipgloss and Von Dutch caps were all the rage.
Some of the digital cameras from Temu seem to come with two batteries, as it should have been the case with mine, but I received only one – it seems to be a recurring issue, just so you know.
However, it does come with a USB to USB-C cable which means it’s easy to charge on your laptop (unless you have a Macbook and no adaptor) or on a PlayStation, the way I do it.
In the box, you get:
- The digital camera DC403
- A USB to USB-C cable
- A 32 Go mini SD card
- A soft grey fabric pouch
- An instructions leaflet
- And a small microfiber cloth to clean the lens
Specs of the Temu Digital Camera DC403
Here are a few specs about the digital camera that will come in handy before you purchase yours, if you want to get that digital 2000s vibe in your pictures:
- Max resolution: 44 MP
- Video 1080P
- Power Zoom: 16x
- F/3.2, f=7.36 mm
- Face and smile detection
Setting Up and Using the Temu Digital Camera DC403

I have found that setting up the digital camera was incredibly easy – after charging it for the first time (you will need to do so to use it), setting up took 5 minutes at most.
The lower right button, once pushed, allows you to change the language, the date, whether or not you want smile detection, and allows you to swap filters.
When first using the Temu digital camera, you will find that the snapping sound when taking pictures is on – you can also change this pretty easily in the settings.
Pushing the M button (lower left) allows you to change the photo mode to the video mode, or see the pictures already shot.
Pushing the T button (upper right button), whether while snapping shots or seeing the pictures, makes you zoom on the picture, while the W button (upper left button) makes you zoom out.
Press the W button several times on a picture, and you will be able to see the collection of already-shot pictures.

Temu Digital Camera Review: Photo Examples

I initially bought the digital camera with two ideas in mind: to take pictures of makeup, and travel pictures to bring back that old school vibe on the blog.
The goal was to snap shots while traveling to London, Paris or other cities, or even Rome where I’m staying at the moment, and then retouch the pictures slightly on Lightroom.
In my experience, this Temu camera works much better for travel pictures as well as portraits – especially if you’re one to love that desaturated, slightly grainy look in your shots.
Now, I have owned a few cameras in my life but admit I have never been a professional when it comes to all the specs and possibilities that knowledge of manual focus and other aperture terms would allow for.
When taking pictures, I operate with feeling, since my knowledge is limited, but what I do know is that you can get some pretty amazing retro style shots with the camera.

Temu Digital Camera Review: Thoughts

All in all, if you’re starting out in photography and are simply looking for a digital camera to bring an air of vintage to your shots, this Temu camera is not bad at all.
Makeup and perfume pictures turned out incredibly bad with it, though. Very blurry, grainy in all the wrong ways, and overall just not good.
It was disappointing, especially when sharing content online has become so crucial for visibility in creative fields.
For someone hoping to offer makeup artist career insights through social media, having poor-quality visuals can feel like a major setback.
As I am used to using a 50mm lens with my former camera, the Canon D800, what I seem to understand is that you need some distance for the shots to be clear with the DC403 camera from Temu…
Hence my recommending it for travel blogging and other memories.

The price of the digital camera seems to fluctuate a lot, and since Temu often has deals on many of their products, you can get it as low as 40 euros – the price also depends on the color you choose, I have seen.
Indeed, the mint green camera was more expensive than the pink one by about 5 euros when I got it. Up to you to choose whether the color is worth paying more!
I have already snapped a good few shots with this digital camera, and am overly grateful that I was able to get a new camera for so cheap, especially after using professional cameras that cost several hundreds of euros.
Anyhoo – if you’re planning to make new summer memories, or would like to create vintage polaroid-style pictures, that’s definitely a great camera to start with!
Until next time!
