A local’s guide to visiting London’s Slingsby Place, a colorful street in Covent Garden perfect for photos, with a huge floral installation up above!
I have already told you all about some of my favorite beautiful streets in Covent Garden, but Slingsby Place is on another level because it has a completely different vibe.
There are so many things to do in Covent Garden, from the famous spots like the shopping and the Covent Garden Piazza, to secret gems like the TK Maxx on Long Acre for affordable candles and clothes, or the London Graphic Centre for stationery.
As we are seeing today, we also have Slingsby Place, which is one of the most colorful spots in London and a perfect photo location.
London’s Slingsby Place: A Colorful Street in Covent Garden
Slingsby Place is located in Covent Garden, just off Long Acre, an incredibly cool shopping street only a few minutes from Leicester Square and its unique sculpture trail.
The entire area where Slingsby Place is found has undergone a redevelopment, and the district is now called The Yards, Covent Garden.
It includes Slingsby Place as well as Mercer Walk and St Martin’s Courtyard – all three spots are absolutely worth a visit.
This is because you can find the beautiful bookstore Stanfords there, along with neon signs and cute cafes and restaurants.
You will also find floral arches and seasonal pop-ups; it is a little corner of nature where you can breathe right near Covent Garden, mostly known only to locals.
The main highlight of Slingsby Place, in my opinion, is the huge colorful glass flowers suspended above the street.
They make it a totally instagrammable and fresh place that is a nice change from the usual pink coffee shops.

Once you have finished discovering Slingsby Place, I recommend again a visit to Mercer Walk and St Martin’s Courtyard, which are both just a few steps away.
Then, you can choose to visit other colorful spots like nearby Neal’s Yard and Seven Dials Market, a perfect London market for street food with little lamps everywhere.
Near Slingsby Place, you can also find secret alleys such as Goodwin’s Court and Cecil Court with its beautiful vintage bookstores.
If you would rather head to a cafe, you will find the excellent Bageriet bakery in Covent Garden with its decadent cinnamon rolls, or Ole and Steen and Donutelier on Charing Cross Road.
There is so much to do in Covent Garden; whether it is beautiful bookstores, free museums, or churches like St Paul’s Church and its secret garden!
