A local’s review of Press Coffee Co off Fleet Street in the City of London – one of the cutest rustic cafes in the city with colorful lattes and tasty cakes!

Lovers of rustic coffee shops, with wooden countertops and fresh cakes, you’ll love to discover the place I want to show you in this review: Press Coffee Co.

Located on Chancery Lane, minutes only from Lincoln’s Inn Chapel and nearby hidden gems, Press Coffee Co is seemingly one of the lesser-known coffee shops in the City of London.

And yet, we’re not that far, either, from The Strand (and secret Surrey Street!) and, on the other side, St Paul’s Cathedral.

I’ve recently reviewed quite a few coffee shops with the similarity of prepping up beautiful pink lattes; CA Japanese Pancakes in Victoria and Feya Cafe in Marylebone.

Anyway – here’s to one of the best coffee shops I’ve tried in the City – and it’s located super close to many free historical sites, including Temple Church and the hidden Elm Court!

Press Coffee co was founded in 2013, and they currently have a flagship cafe on Fleet Street, the Fleet Street Press – the branch I’m going to be reviewing is their Chancery Lane cafe.

At the core of the brand, sustainability: Press Coffee Co use recyclable packaging, have a zero-emission delivery vehicle and pay a London Living wage.

We’re here in a really beautiful specialty coffee shop – Press Coffee Co roast their own beans in a South London roastery, and overall, the cafe feels independent, but is also frequented by City workers.

London’s Press Coffee Co Review – What I Ordered

I visited Press Coffee and Co to get a mid-morning snack – I was feeling greedy and wanted to really taste the best of what the cafe offered.

For once, I didn’t get a slice of carrot cake (granted, maybe I’d already gotten one at breakfast) and chose a walnut and banana bread, a brownie, and a pink latte.

I do love my colorful lattes, and when it comes to beetroot latte specifically, I thought that the Press Coffee Co one was thick, delicious, and did taste a tiny bit of beetroot, although not so much that it was disturbing.

The walnut and banana bread was enticingly moist; finding good banana bread in London is not that hard, and that one was absolutely delicious, balanced and just-sweet-enough.

The brownie was also amazing: it felt like a thick, gooey piece of chocolate: the more gooey my brownie is, the happier I am – this one hit the spot.

All in all, Press Coffee and Co on Chancery Lane has been one of my best finds of the past couple years when it comes to a rustic decor and fresh cakes.
