A local’s review of Feya Cafe on James Street, Marylebone – one of the most instagrammable coffee shops in Central London, minutes from Oxford Street!

A good handful of months ago, I finally tried Feya Cafe in the Marylebone area, for the first time.

I’d been seeing it on various social media platforms, like Instagram and Pinterest, and me being me, I love trying out a new instagrammable cafe every chance I get.

That’s how I’d tried two Elan Cafe branches, the one on Wardour Street, Soho, and the more floral one on Hans Crescent, facing Knightsbridge.

Anyway – as I was walking around Marylebone in search of a new breakfast spot I hadn’t tried, I found I’d unconsciously made my way to James Street, one of the most colorful places in London...

And that brought me to Feya Cafe.

Located on James Street, close to the secret shopping and dining court at St Christopher’s Place, Feya Cafe is a super cute spot that’s very much made for both brunch dates and Instagram moments.

The interiors is pastel and floral, with a white cherry blossom tree cascading through the cafe.

On the menu, all kinds of breakfast, brunch, lunch, patisserie, tea and coffee offerings; whether you’re looking to have a gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan breakfast, you’ll be well-served at Feya Cafe.

You can either walk in or book before visiting – Feya Cafe is an all-day dining spot spacious enough that you can find a seat even if you don’t book.

That’s also a perfect spot for beautiful colorful lattes (like my recently-reviewed Press Coffee Co and CA Japanese Pancakes), and you’ll find all-instagrammable brunch classics there; avocado on toast, smoothie bowls, and seasonal pastries.

London’s Feya Cafe Review – What I Ordered

Here’s what I ordered at Feya Cafe in Marylebone:

two cronuts – pistachio and what I seem to remember is peanut butter and jelly (or maybe just jelly)

Let’s start with what I thought of the service – I arrived around 9 or 10 am for a quick breakfast in Central London before moving on to an appointment I had, and I was disappointed to experience it as a very slow service.

There were only a few tables occupied, and given that I hadn’t ordered a brunch plate but only a coffee and cakes, I’d expected it would be much faster.

When the pink latte came, I thought it was truly one of the most beautiful coffees I’d had in London – it was a tad too sweet for my liking and I didn’t finish it, but it was really a gorgeous drink.

When it comes to the cronuts, I only had a few bites of each: I didn’t understand how they could be so dry, so early in the morning – like, leftover-from-yesterday dry.

I had a clear preference for the pistachio cronut: the cream inside made the flavor linger on the palate; I can imagine very well how good it would have been, had it been fresh.

The red fruit jelly cronut is one I bit even less into – it was just dry, overly sweet, and not really good.

All in all, if given the opportunity to visit Feya Cafe on James Street again, I probably wouldn’t.

Even months ago, I’m still confused as to why the service was so slow, and why the food wasn’t good value, especially given the pretty high prices of the pastries and drinks.

My visit did make for beautiful pictures, so I’m happy about that, but I’d be more likely to visit other cute cafes again, like:
