When planning your trip to Troyes, you’ll undoubtedly, at some point, look for some more hidden gems, spots off the beaten path to complete your bucket list.
The Cite du Vitrail, nestled inside the beautiful building of Hotel Dieu le Comte, is a museum you’d do well to visit – especially if you’re visiting on a budget.
Troyes, in France, is my hometown; I was born and raised there before moving on to Paris, London, Istanbul, Barcelona and Rome.
I’ve been living here again for a few months as I choose my next destination – sometimes, it does us well to revisit our childhood grounds.
Anyhoo – should you be on the hunt for Troyes’ best museums, do stop at the wonderful Cite du Vitrail.

To be honest, while I was a student at the uni located right next to Hotel Dieu le Comte, I only really took the time to visit its gardens and museums for the first time a couple of years ago.
Isn’t it funny – when you’re a local, you always have – or take – less time to visit, and deeply feel your own city.
I guess being a digital nomad, and being brought back to my own city for a bit really made me feel a need for a deeper understanding of Troyes; maybe, in a way, to better understand myself.
Anyway – this is my own photo gallery of the Cite du Vitrail in Hotel Dieu le Comte, in the very heart of Troyes!
