I have always loved the sixth arrondissement of Paris, also nicknamed Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

It is there that one finds secret alleys with a village feel inside Paris, a myriad of art galleries, as well as many instagrammable cafes.

It is on rue de Buci that one finds the Taschen bookstore, one of the most beautiful bookstores in Paris with its books on design, fashion, and lifestyle themes like travel or gardening.

Located at the corner of rue de Buci and rue Grégoire de Tours is Maison Sauvage.

Maison Sauvage is one of the most photographed facades in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, as it is a floral spot whether it rains, blows, or snows.

This entire street is magnificent. Rue de Buci is full of little boutiques, small restaurants, and cafes as well as clothing stores like Héroïnes.

What makes Maison Sauvage immediately recognizable is that it is covered in flowers and climbing plants, which form a magnificent heap in photos.

The decoration also changes according to the seasons, which has made it a favorite spot for social media influencers.

Moreover, it is worth noting that Maison Sauvage is part of the same group as cafes like Mon Crème or Le Petit Premier, which can be found in streets like rue Montmartre (a street that offers beautiful vintage facades, notably at Replay, a former ceramics warehouse).

A few days ago, I went to Maison Sauvage for the first time. I simply wanted to clear some storage on my phone while enjoying a good café latte.

I therefore settled on the terrace, which is furnished with large, glowing lampshades that illuminate rue de Buci at the end of the day.

Maison Sauvage is a café-restaurant that spans two floors in an old townhouse.

Inside, you can enjoy a rustic-chic atmosphere; it is like a small country house, but inside Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Inside, the decorations and tables feature wicker and wood as far as the eye can see, with a few beautifully chosen frames and a view of rue de Buci revealing itself beyond the flowers and vegetation.

The concept of Maison Sauvage is a healthy canteen.

One can have a good Parisian breakfast there, but also a simple coffee and plates with fresh, bright, and simply delicious ingredients.

One of the great strengths of Maison Sauvage – which is much the same as the other Montorgueil houses – is the brunch, which has a style oscillating between French, American, and Australian.

They serve items like avocado toast, acai bowls, eggs Benedict, and also pancakes with all sorts of toppings.

When I went to Maison Sauvage, I glimpsed a creamy burrata (or was it feta?) on a plate that looked absolutely delicious, and I am of the opinion that one should test Maison Sauvage for much more than the simple coffee I treated myself to.

However, regarding the budget, it is clear that Maison Sauvage follows the prices of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, since I paid €11 for two café au laits.

I imagine that other famous and historic cafes in Paris offer this kind of price, like Le Procope, located near Maison Sauvage, but also La Palette with its walls covered in paintings, also near the Vénus des Arts statue.

Maison Sauvage is therefore a café-restaurant that is open every day from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Whether you are looking for a place to have breakfast, a snack, or a place to spend time in Paris at night, Maison Sauvage is at the heart of the Parisian effervescence.

If you decide to visit for breakfast, for example, you can then visit a rue de Buci that is a bit calmer than during Happy Hour.

Once you have finished at Maison Sauvage, you can go visit the magnificent bookstores of the neighborhood like Shakespeare and Company or Taschen just opposite, or take a short walk to the so very beautiful Assouline bookshops.

I also advise you to go see the vintage storefront of La Boissonnerie on rue de Seine, as well as the magnificent small galleries that dot the area, such as Galerie Renaud Vanuxem.
