A local’s guide to the most aesthetic streets in Paris to visit, walk around and discover new restaurants, cafes and architecture!
Ever since I’ve moved back to Paris, I’ve been walking around – a lot more than usual, in search of gorgeous and secret gardens, new places to eat that wouldn’t be too touristy, and any other hidden gem that comes my way.
I felt like today, with the beautiful sun that’s shining over the towering buildings of the 10th arrondissement, where I currently live, would be a great time to share some of my favorite streets to wander around.
9 Aesthetic Streets in Paris To Wander Around
Obviously, this is one local’s, one woman’s, one blogger’s view of Paris.
However, since the Olympic Games are still going here, chances are you’ll be looking for more secret places than landmarks these days if you’re visiting Paris.
From rue de Nevers to rue Saint-Rustique, the following streets are not only gorgeous to admire, but also great photo spots if you wish to snap a few shots!
Beautiful Streets in Paris: Rue de Nevers
Located close to the Quais de Seine, the rue de Nevers is one I recommend you pop by if you’re the kind of person who not only enjoys a bit of architecture, but also the Dark Academia vibe.
The Highlander pub reminds me of some London pubs, while the arched painted ceiling at the beginning of the street takes me back to Rome whenever I’m walking under.

Beautiful Streets in Paris: Rue Lepic
It’s no secret that the Montmartre streets are some of the prettiest – and most famous streets of Paris, and close to the Sacré-Coeur, rue Lepic awaits with a few beautiful sights.
From statues adorning some unassuming, residential buildings to small, cute cafes, this is another beautiful spot to stroll around when you’re in the Montmartre area.

Pretty Streets in Paris to Walk Around: Rue Nicolas Flamel
Rue Nicolas Flamel, with its name, definitely bears a reminder of the Harry Potter movies, and we’ll find this one in the gorgeous Marais neighborhood.
One end of this small, paved street leads to Rue de Rivoli, which is filled with some of the coolest shops in Paris, while the other end brings us to other beautiful spots of Le Marais.
With flowers covering a few of the buildings of rue Nicolas Flamel, it’s indeed a great spot to visit in Paris during spring and summer – and take pictures, of course.

Beautiful Streets in Paris: Rue de Rivoli
Rue de Rivoli is a street I spent a few months working in; at the time, the Saga Cosmetics branch was still open – it is a makeup store you’ll find in other French cities, with all things discounted, from lipsticks to nail polish.
When coming from the Bastille metro station, take rue Saint-Antoine and walking up the street towards the Champs-Elysées, you’ll soon arrive at rue de Rivoli.
This street crosses some amazing neighborhoods of Paris; Pyramide, the Japanese quarter, is located really close, as is Le Louvre museum, and the Colonnes de Buren at Palais Royal.

Aesthetic Streets in Paris to Walk Around: Rue Saint-Antoine
What’s interesting about the Rue Saint-Antoine is the gathering of independent boutiques, small breakfast spots and instagrammable cafes.
Whatever you might be looking for, even in terms of strange architecture or properly French restaurants, you will find on this street.
In addition, before rue Saint-Antoine becomes rue de Rivoli, it passes by the Saint-Paul metro station, which is one of my favorite areas in town.
Just a couple of minutes from the station, you will find the Jewish part of Le Marais, with its traditional falafel shops and bakeries, as well as rue des Archives, another really pretty street on which you can have a really affordable Parisian breakfast at Les Marroniers or Le Ju.

Beautiful Streets in Paris: Rue du Prévôt
Rue du Prévôt is another unassuming, really small street which starts at one end of the square surrounding the Saint-Paul station – what’s interesting about it is the mix of street art and cobblestones.
All around this tiny, long street, you will find small Parisian cafes, and since Le Marais is right across rue Saint-Antoine, chances are you’ll want to walk around the area once you’re done with rue du Prévôt.

Pretty Streets in Paris to Walk Around: Rue du Mont-Cenis and Rue St Rustique
It would be quite difficult to tell you which exactly is the prettiest street of Montmartre, as this village-like area is made of cobblestone streets lined with street painters, cafes, restaurants à la française and even the odd street art piece.
However, two in particular are my favorites; rue du Mont-Cenis and rue Saint-Rustique.
Whether you’re visiting Paris during the spring or the fall, these two are amazing to use as backdrops for pictures and get a feel of one of the city’s most beautiful neighborhoods.

Beautiful Streets in Paris: Rue de l’Abreuvoir
I thought that Rue de l’Abreuvoir deserved its own little paragraph, even if it is also located in Montmartre.
Rue de l’Abreuvoir is quite famous for its houses covered with climbing ivy, the instagrammable restaurant La Maison Rose, colorful shop windows and, of course, because of the bust of late singer Dalida.
I would recommend visiting rues du Mont-Cenis and St Rustique before going down towards the center of Paris via rue de l’Abreuvoir – indeed, going up this particular street is quite tiring!

Pretty Streets in Paris to Walk Around: Various Streets in Le Marais Area
While I mentioned a few streets in Le Marais you should definitely walk around for a change of scenery from the Champs-Elysées and Palais Royal, there’s more to check out than the pretty rue Nicolas Flamel.
All around Le Marais are scattered tiny coffee shops, instagrammable shops, and beautiful pieces of architecture/sculptures you definitely wouldn’t expect to see.
A few streets to pop by while in Le Marais are, for instance, rue Sauval, rue du Plâtre, or, of course, rue Vieille du Temple and rue des Archives.
